Wow good episode, Teal doing his thing, Emma playing the violin, and Linh putting something awesome together in the kitchen. This episode had a little bit of everything. Thanks guys.
Put in my mind how many of each item was used, missed them all, BTW, was on the low end by 6 to 8 of each. The Winner and the Beauty of Basic is always going to be in your Hearts..Continue giving each other the Pride of the Labors, thanks for all of the rides on your Journey..Happy Holidays !!
Emma you played a beautiful Star Wars song on your violin. I am very proud of you! I loved your sword! That would have been the one I'd pick for you! Emma try not to grow up too fast! Enjoyed your video, & seeing how you do maintenance & upkeep on your catamaran. Our weather today was foggy, 35*ish, very damp, misty, just like it looked in your video, here in Independence, VA.
Wow....that was a cool Light Saber that Emma got. It's very practical too. If you are being attacked by Tuskan Raiders at sea they will run screaming when they see Emma activate her Light Sabre.
You know that boarding ladder’s great but I still wonder how easy it would be to get from the ladder onto the sugar scoop in a pitching sea without having something to hang onto. Perhaps a grab handle there somewhere on the side of the steps would be a good addition. Just a thought... 👍
Teal, that swim step turned out perfect. Nice to have Linh as your helper on the install. She holds a good grip on that wrench, all the while looking lovely as ever! As for Emma and her lighting expertise, she too did a super job on that bulb replacement. Her trip to the Star Wars store looked like fun and she got a cool light sabre that would be the envy of any loyal fan anywhere. My grand daughter has one very similar to yours and she loves it. Finally, those crabs looked so good and I'm betting that they cooked up nicely for dinner. Always look forward to your postings and hope you continue with them forever!
Wow! never thought it would take so much resin. Have you recalculated the load capacity of your boat yet? LOL. I realy love the high standerd of all the upgrades. They will last a long time. Love the cookery too, amazing videos.
Lin I was inspired by your fish chowder so I made my own with grouper I caught a couple of days a go in the Gulf of Mexico. It was great , I love your cooking
I met you on the street in Friday Harbor. What you are doing is enchanting to me. Your boat is minimalisticly clean and beautiful. How long will you be in West Port.? listic
Teal likes perfectly smooth and faired surfaces, so he would sand off the excess epoxy above the glass cloth. Guessing that 1/3 of the purchased resin was sanded off. One thing for sure, the purchased epoxy mix was a substantial.....investment! These were interesting quantities to know and a bunch of work to find them out....thank you all three!!!
The problem with those led bulbs is they are designed for a 12v current that is much more stable than you get from a battery which is why they wont last as long as advertised on a boat where the voltage can vary a lot., but as you say they are so cheap that they are still better value.
Listening to Emma play made me remember my violin days, which I am sorry to say, I did not enjoy enough to continue--but good for her pursuing it. Weird though it is, I can still "hear" the open A that is used to tune from. It has only been a little more than 50 years since putting it down!
Emma has been great with her practice. Since she has been without a teacher for almost 2 years and we have been trying to use just her books, cds and TH-cam to continue her training. Its tough, but she keeps at it because she enjoys playing.
I was way off but I enjoy each episode. Thank you for all the tabulating, to say your work is over built is an understatement. Looking forward to many more Vlogs!
Teal you need a handhold opposite the boarding ladder, you will not get up that ladder unless your in your swimming trunks in a warm climate. Was looking forward to see how the crabs turned out, maybe next week. Cheers you guys and fair winds
Measure the voltage at your LED lights. I found that adding a voltage regulator to limit over-powering the LEDs in my RV have prolonged their life and reduced flicker.
Basik crew great video again. I was over by 8 gallons . Emma will soon be towering over her mom. That was an awesome Star Wars the am song rendition on the violin. Best regards and merry Christmas from the great white north London Ontario.
$5,500 (USD excl sales tax) or thereabouts for the resin and hardener, plus $2200 for the 406 filler. Not bad considering this is the stuff that keeps the water out...
You should pick up some stainless steel pickling gel for cleaning the stainless. It removes iron oxide contamination from the pores of the metal. Just brush it on, wait for 30 minutes and wash it off with soap and water. Enjoy the cool weather!
Fun compo. Would have been interesting to see how you cook up the crab. How are Emmas drone flying skills progressing? Always cool to see how you guys are getting along.
Good one guys, never knew Amoretta was that easy to make, thank you. Your getting good on the fiddle, Emma, (sorry violine ) well done. A beautiful tune I heard a young lady playing on a Violin recently was "Lady In Red", I bet you could nail it. Stay safe and happy cruising guys.
Disappointed I didn’t guess the number :-) but happy it was a lot less than i thought, maybe my projects will be cheaper than i was expecting. Liked todays opening shots
Lol, good luck on your project. The key to keeping the amount down is mixing up smaller batches. That way you don't have any waste and the epoxy doesn't kick as fast. 👍
Love this vid! Do you have a piece for how to safely working with epoxy and filler based on your experiences? Many thanks. Dale and Lee from Ladysmith.
Hi Linh, Teal and Emma, I have been following and really enjoying all these nice family (sailing/boat-home-life) videos and thinking back to my enjoyable times sailing with my young daughter years ago. I also enjoy seeing how much of a great healthy learning experience it must be for Emma and ... wow, ..what a great, helpful, intelligent young girl she is. She's such a help in everything you guys do and I love seeing her w/Compass as well. You guys are fortunate to have each other and it's obvious the effort you put into working at such a wonderful family life together. I also love to watch some other lifestyle videos and have been following another great/similar young family with their little farm in northern New Hampshire. They too have great family values and a wonderful life together. They have a wonderful, helpful and sweet young daughter too named Olivia. Their TH-cam channel "Lumna Acres" I also sent them a note and told them that It occurred to me that (I'd bet) Emma and Olivia might enjoy meeting one another one day, and, if they did and if they hit it off, possibly someday they might enjoy visiting one another to experience each other's lifestyle and environment. Their TH-cam channel is: th-cam.com/video/K3bI-j2k8XM/w-d-xo.html I invite you both with Emma to take a nice long peek at their channel and see if you agree with the idea. I know that if in fact Emma and Olivia did ever meet and seem to hit it off... and maybe entertain the idea of meeting one day; I'd be more than willing to help contribute to the travel cost. Maybe others would as well. I think it would make great interesting video watching ...and I'd really enjoy them both learning and seeing how each other lives and learns. What do you think?
Holy cow - CRAB ! I watched the episode with my newly arrived Onboard Lifestyle mug. Music by Emma was great. I was way off on my epoxy guess. Thanks again for a fun episode with a bit of everything.
The crab was amazing and Linh is working other recipes to work them in. Emma and I are her taste testers and not complaining. Emma worked on her Star Wars piece in just a few hours and was happy with her progress. Love that you have an Onboard Lifestyle mug!
I just found out that hitting the like button helps out so I went through every video and hit the bell. The only videos I haven't watched are most of the food cooking videos but I plan on doing it with my wife. Your cooking looks so good. You can cook for me anytime :)
Wow, I think I guessed 158, way too much! Fun challenge, congratulations to the winners! By the way, Yeti mugs are the best, I use mine every morning! Nena
When I went into Boot Camp the Marine Corps. They gave me a tub of that never a dull...The underside of a galvanized garbage can they made me about that was never dull until it will look like a mirrorIt only took a few hours
hey there Emma. You did a nice job designing the logo for the boat. are you going to become a graphics designer or something along those lines, if you do, you may well be able to work from home on the boat. Gerard.
I noticed you installed the swim ladder with the metal edges up. Doesn't your ladder go both ways. Putting the smooth side up, would prevent someone getting an edge poking them when sitting on the top, helping someone up. I'm Craving fresh crab, I've had to resort to buying from local store to make crab salad. Sorry to say it, think we're having a stormy winter. Love your videos.
i don't know if u have internet on board all the time but emma can start college early and get a lot of class for free. My 16 year old just tested out of high school and is going to finish her AA and AS this year. let me know if you want the info.
She just got a recommendation from her teacher to jump to 9th grade English and 8th in Math. We are so proud of her and her efforts in her studies. Thanks for the tip!
@@OnboardLifestyle nice, i wish i had my girls start dual enrollment in junior high. there is really no need to take high school classes when u can take college classes that counts for high school and college. where we live there is 3 local community college that work together and offer free online classes. up to 11 unites per semester.
Thanks Richard! Unfortunately, the mugs are too expensive to make so we do not sell them. We do have a coffee mug with our logo on them to purchase. The link is in our description. We are running a 10% sale on all of our products for this month so check it out and grab a mug, tee or hat. All designed by Emma.
I bought a 12 pack of replacement led bulbs from amazon for my boat and not one worked the great deal didn’t turn out so well for us ended buying from a more expensive retailer also you can make Kahlúa the almost same way as you make your Amarello 2 cups white sugar 2 cups brown sugar 2 cups water half cup instant coffee 2 teaspoons of vanilla and of course whatever alcohol you want to use simmer on heat kahlua

Thank you again guys...always enjoy your videos, it's not just the build, it's a window into who you guys are. ( just a great family ) !!
I'd buy a boat from this man, over the phone, 'sight unseen, with no haggling
