I saw some time ago, an episode with Chris Barrie about rally history. He went in a car with some British rally driver in an Audi Quattro, the original. He said that he is always with one foot on the throttle to avoid turbo lag. I think you need some mad skills to do that in a real rally race and this anti lag system, imo, takes away from that.

Rally backfires are great for starting running races.
You understand that it's a good audio quality video, when in the first clip of the 206 with headphones on at 80% volume the backfires lets you close the eyes like in real life😂
