@@LauraLancealot the problem with foster to adopt she will lose the financial support from the state, this can include WIC, Medicaid & Food Stamps. Im in no way saying she's doing it for the $$$, but we all know how expensive kids are. She may not be able to afford the kids without the state's assistance.
In WV, when we adopt from foster (I have 4 amazingly awesome adopted kids) we lost the state's backing. Luckily, we are blessed to provide for our family but I won't lie, the monthly income and other state support really helps.
Want to know something heartbreaking? When fostering we get $850/month per child. We only have to provide receipts that at least $85 is being spent on the child. Absolutely appalling. You'd think there'd be more oversight ensuring the money is going to the child or at least to living expenses.

Long term foster placements are very hard. My Mum fostered for 30 years, newborns to the age of 3 or 4, a very important time in a baby/child's emotional and physical development. You could always see the pure love and attachment between the children and my parents. I still do not know how heart breaking it must have been at the end of the placement, for the child, and certainly my Mum and Dad. I got attached, and I wasn't even living at home then. It takes very special people to bring love and a balance to a sometimes very cruel world ❤️

I was a foster parent to four children. I can tell you that this is a wonderful foster home. The amount of time, care, and all of the extra things she noticed about these kids. Very few people would have taken the time to figure out exactly what was wrong. I believe most Foster People would get angry at the child for crying. Instead of finding out what was wrong. I became a social worker after my own children we're grown. I ended up working with foster moms. I feel like tooth and stomach/gastro are both some of the worst pain wise. So many nerves in both areas so that’s just unbelievable mom could ignore them. I know my son had horrible gastro issues as a baby and we were in and out of the dr office, Er, and specialist for months. Which also happened to be at the height of the swine flu back in 2009ish. So we both ended up catching that and had to be hospitalized in a quarantined area. But I would do it all over again if it meant solving his pain. Sitting by and letting your child suffer is absolutely abuse. But I really want to know how 3 kids test positive?? How is that even possible? Is meth second hand smoke a thing? I don’t know how that all works. Did they have to smoke it? Accidentally eat it? I don’t know the methods of ingestion for it and I don’t even know how I’d ask google that. I had to pause so maybe they answer it, but I doubt it. This case just broke my heart. I’m glad the foster mom noticed the issues so quickly and acted, she didn’t hesitate at all to not only care for their physical well being but she also worked on their emotional well being and showed them real love. She still is putting them first more then mom was with her stupid pictures.

I saw her 3 times a week and had to travel 3 hours each way for each visit. I did it. My kiddo is my world and I bent over backwards to get her home. She has been back in my sole custody for 5 years now, and I STILL bend over backwards to make sure she has everything she needs. If I don't have it or can't get it, I reach out to my support group and find help. That's what you do as a parent.

It must take a class act to defend a drugged out mom who wants to continue to abuse and neglect her children it’s obvious by the issues the children had when they came to her that the mom isn’t qualified to care for these babies. The lawyer who defends a continuing addict who wants to bring these children back into the chaos is a piece of crap.

It's their job genius. They get paid to do the best they can to represent the client no matter what, which is one of the rights in this country. They aren't allowed to have a personal stake. They have to present the facts from the defendant's side even if they don't like it.

Someone has to do it. Defendants have a right to a lawyer. Even pieces of shit.

Thank Heaven for foster parents. We never hear these stories. ❤
