@The Timestamper I’m pretty sure all choppers are programmed so that you can only grapple onto them. In all my experience during Protocol 10, I have never once landed on the choppers while gliding into them. But, you are more than welcome to try!
I didn't realize that people didn't know the backdoors of the court house were open after saving Catwoman. That's how I've always left the court house, even on my first playthrough
@@HOTD108_ sure, but this is such a great game that I would want even my kids and grand kids to play it, imagine spoiling such a great story to someone younger that didn’t have the opportunity to play it back in 2011, who recently saw some gameplay footage in their recommended feed and decided to play it

I have personally never used the front door to the courthouse to leave after Two Face. It is interesting to see the little things people do differently while playing.
These kinds of challenges like no grapple, or no glide or no gadgets, are pretty awesome and a really awesome way to re-examine the gameplay and make you, ironically, feel more “like Batman”.
My first Playthru of the game I actually used to the back door. I didn’t see any other way. I thought the back door was the intended route, and because I did that I saw a Calendar man lucky me😂
Wow 16 grapple’s I thought it would’ve been more. I think you should do asylum game style for Arkham city , so only grapple on the ground , no dive bombs and , only use asylum gadgets unless you can’t progress. Ps if you do , do this challenge I think the video name should be (Batman Arkham asylum but in Arkham city)
Nice idea, that should also include the combat systems as well (no multi batarang takedown, no bat swarm, no countering more than 1 guy at the same time, no triple cape stun) etc

Actually, with going out of the courthouse the game lets you know that you could have gone out the back because the dudes blocking the door will mention that no one is watching the back if you wait for them to talk long enough. It's pretty funny to listen to
At 7:20... the amount of possible "verticalities" when meeting the Glass Dome and afterwards makes you appreciate Rocksteady for their gratuitous attention to detail.😎
2:34 I believe leaving through the backdoor there is the most intended way, since there is a bunch of political prisoner NPCs with early game dialogue near that exit.
Well, Origins has the fast travel points where you are thrown in from a high point, so at least in the open world you can get mostly anywhere like that.
I've done the extreme police brutality predator map as Nightwing with some similar personal challenges. No grapple, no gadgets & no detective mode even when you've taken out the jammer. Nerve-wracking is the only thing I can think of for that challenge. This right here sounds both frustrating and oddly rewarding. Great video!
I was playing City while watching this specifically the Protocol 10 section, and I spent the whole time thinking "yeah good luck scanning the helicopters without grappling!".....so yeah you just shut me right up 😂😂
I forgot how fucking claustrophobic and creepy the interior sections of the Arkham games can be. Open world sections are fun, but I remember how tense & uncomfortable they made me feel when playing them, especially when the music gets all eerie.
Hey I have an idea Maybe you could make your own Arkham game? Like your own bosses and story and side mission (not like programming but more like writing how it be like) I think that would be fun to do and definitely fun to watch

8:53 if you run into the broken window or the second one (I don’t remember which one it is) to the left of the big door then Batman will somewhat mantle it and you’ll be able to climb up it there

Funnily I recently started a NG+ mode where I restrict use and reach of the grapnel gun, restrict use of gliding as if the cape runs off a small capacitor type power supply, and less outlandish use of gadgets in combat, and don’t do those impossibly long and fast hits when enemies are far apart. Walking along the rooftops, through the alleyways, random encounters, doing the side missions as you inevitably stumble on them, it really draws you in. You really miss out on some simply stunning vistas from various individual rooftops when you glide above the city all the time.
I love watching your videos and I have one that might be fun. "Can you beat Arkham City while balancing a cookie on your nose without eating or having it fall off?" Joke! *Unless....*
I tried this and it was actually a pretty fun challenge. My only complaint was the game’s constant telling of “HEY USE YOUR GRAPPLING HOOK-“ it just was so tempting…
Hey, personally did the challenge myself, on hard difficulty too, and finished with 12 grapples, this run was extremely fun and I thank you for putting this idea into my head. To everyone reading, ClownPuncher is right, this run is extremely fun and creates a brand new perspective to the game, so you should give it a try!

Okay, but how are you goons get up there? It’s literally the tallest point on the map, aside from maybe one of the other chimneys in the area, which you definitely wouldn’t be able to reach without grappling.
Have you considered playing the Arkham games with no detective mode? It would create an increased challenge, as it would make stealth sections a lot harder, but it wouldn't be as hard as some of your other challenges.
I wish more games could be completed without having to use any gear. So often do I wanna try out a pacifist run, or some other challenge, and get to a point I just cant progress from.
2 months without such a video was tedious.. I'm guessing it's because of the lack of ideas, if so it would be fun watching similar videos on different but similar games.
I mean... no? I just didn't have that much time on my hands and wanted to try different things. I still have plenty of Arkham Challenges on the back-burner, I just don't always have the time to record them. I want to get all the gameplay recorded in one day, two maximum for Knight challenges, and I don't always have a full day of availability to do that. So I try different things that won't require as tedious a recording schedule to pad the video count.
I think by the time you get the freeze blast, you could knock out a few of the later grapples. For example, by standing on one of the ledges in the Steel Mill and spamming the freeze blasts, you can gain altitude and get high enough to reach the manager's office.

If you do speedrun starts I can think at least 3 grapnels
The hardest part of this challenge if I did it would be just to resist the muscle memory to automatically grapple.
You could try extending these challenges to the predator rooms, see how many medals you can get without gliding or grappling.

But Batman is clearly shown grappling when fast traveling. Each fast travel would count as a grapple. You didn't think this through, did you?

You can skip the steel mill chimney grapple you can glide and then dive bomb and you’ll reach just enough height to reach it.
