I just love that Barry goes so fast that he literally becomes lightning, travels back in time and hits himself, turning himself into the Flash. That means that Barry Allen is the Flash because Barry Allen is the Flash.
I think that's how the flash TV show should end with Barry stopping a super weapon and him stuck in the speed force turning into lightning then it going back to the very first episode but with the main and supporting cast who were in the city that night looking up at the star labs accident. Barry narrating about the lessons he learned over the series ending with a PoV shot of the lightning bolt zooming towards the crime lab. And the final words you hear is "My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive or I will be in a moment." cut to black just as the lightning hits Barry with the main theme horns.
When I finally able to read Crisis on Infinite Earths, I found that I loved it! Despite juggling so many characters and Earths around, I never found it too cluttered and busy, and the sheer scope was awesome for what the story was trying to do. It's a great story, especially since it's a well-handled one for rebooting continuity.

The flash is honestly the best hero in DC. Hands down, he's the guy you can rely on when the chips are down and he can outrun any danger even death literally.
Both he and Supergirl had great deaths in this series. Those were bold moves because at the time they were meant to be permanent. Nowadays when someone dies you know they’re coming back in a year or two.
This story is why I started collecting comics. I was in my senior year in high school seventeen years old, saw Crisis on Infinite Earths #1. At that time I had very little knowledge of the Multiverse in DC. After buying issue #1 I was hooked. Thanks for the upload.
This was the GREATEST series in comic book history! My first exposure to heroes dieing! The battles! Then the Golden Age Superman finally ending the Anti-Monitor! Greatest of all time and forever my favorite!
ZestyFruit Loops yeah after the three parter and all the buzz about this story coming (many people have been saying this was expected), I needed to learn what this is all about.
Yep, I saw this video back when he first uploaded it, but now I had to refresh my memory and rewatch it since its been officially confirmed Crisis on Infinite Earths is coming next year which we kind of already knew, but now with the end of Elseworlds we know for sure.
Crisis On Infinite Earths was my first major DC Comics event. Since I was fairly new to DC at the time, I figured it was just another JLA/JSA team up. I didn't expect anything would change, and no one would die. Man, I was wrong! I never missed an issue. I loved it. Since I was new to DC, Who's Who , a series that started around the same time, helped me learn who some of the characters were.

This was at the very least, a good start, at most, a very detailed explanation. I'll probably watch this again in a few weeks to re-refresh it, it really is a lot to take in.

There's nothing really hard to understand about CIOE. I understood it well enough when I was 12. Final Crisis is far more confusing without reading the tie ins. Especially the sudden appearance of Mandrakk, unless you have read Superman Beyond.

Crisis on Infinite Earths was a very bittersweet story. On the one hand, it was a well-told story and led to the best status quo in DC history. On the other hand, I loved all those crazy Earths and was sad to see them go. I know they were a roadblock to new readers, but all those wild stories had so much imagination and potential. The crossover event of crossover events. Probably the DC Multiversity will never be at such much stakes like Crisis on Infinite Earths. Is there one reason I love the DCU, is its complicated but still complex universe, that when you deeply explore it, is a great experience.
Discrepency on Superboy Prime (SP). During Crisis on Infinite Earths (1985), SP wasn't stronger than the other Supermen. Their strengths matched their ages. After the Crisis, Superman's strength was vastly reduced for the sake of being able to challenge him in stories. Over the years building up to Infinite Crisis (2005), Superman had regained "SOME" of his previous power, but was still not as powerful as his Silver Age version. Keep in mind, this was depending on the writer at any given time, and Superman's powers fluctuated a lot. But for Infinite Crisis, the idea was that he was still less powerful than the Silver Age version. So, when Modern Age Superman met SP, SP still had that Silver Age power, and the Modern Age version did not. This vast difference in power, along with being a "Super" in the first place, is why SP was able to mop the floor with so many other heroes, and never take a scratch.
Rob, first off thank you for this video! COIE is my favorite comic book story, I love the stuff you've been uploading and I hope you do a infinite crisis video!
Ready Player Two Lmao... How are they supposed to introduce Anti-Monitor when they barely have half of the Justice League? Ok well I guess they’re not really needed. But the main reason for COIE in the comics was because there were too many Universes. In the Arrowverse, they said that there were “infinite earths”, and then in Crisis On Earth X, they say that there’s 52 Earths, but “X” is the one that was newly found, which makes it 53, iirc. Now in the comics, there were INFINITE UNIVERSES in the DC Multiverse, which was too many. So to get rid of them, they created the “COIE”. Anti-Monitor destroyed most of DC, and that resulted to the “New 52” Arc. I bet they won’t even have the Anti-Monitor in the CW😂
@@alirahman8642 well there's 52 earths that are different. The rest are mirror earths. Each earth has it's set of mirror earths that is the exact same. Oh and new earths can be created. That was mentioned in season 2 of the flash when they talked about new earths being created due to changing the timeline. I remember them saying flashpoint exists and is still going on at another earth. So the infinite earths could just be coppies that don't matter to the universe or it could be lazy writing.
this should have gotten a two hour treatment. I remember this series and got each issue as it came out and there is so much more that could have been covered. No tthat you didnt do a good job on this, Rob...i love your narrative and it would have gone so much farther with a greater time run. good job though :)

Rob that was a pretty tight video.i was glad you did a video on Pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths video, many people forget there wouldn't be new 52 and Rebirth without the Original Continuity and Multiverse. I think that's more important than what they have out now

dhamin iqbal basically a reference point of the comic book plots/storylines or concepts which marvel were influenced by and therefore copied. And recreated their own version of the originals source material which dc has prewritten

Impressive job in recapping the events of this classic story (one of my favorites) into a video, man. I'm a huge DC fan and have become moreso in recent years. I just love its vast and complicated history. It almost feels like reading Tolkien. Great great great video. I'll have to reread COIEs again on the DC app. Would love to hook you up with an art print. I'm a working designer and illustrator and do gallery work where I often use my love for DC as inspiration. Let me know and keep up the good work.
pious83 i did see the episode about superboy prime, but i want him to explain about Infinite Crisis and what happened in that story. Plus i like listening to his voice when his explains comic book stories.
TotalDarkness infinite crisis is 20 years later in real time. It isn't rlly a proper sequel cuz like the thousands of Dc comics stories up until that point r the sequels. Infinite crisis basically comes in the aftermath of identity crisis even tho identity crisis is in a rlly small (for comics) personal scale. What rob didn't mention in his video was that after identity crisis there was a JLA story where batman finds out about what they did to him in identity crisis and creates brother eye to prevent them from doing it again. Which results in infinite crisis
Man. I know this video is probably older then I am. But I'm just here to say thank you and kudos for such a video. I really like your explanation, I really got to not only enjoy, but understand. Also, the pace you talk is not slow or mysterious as some newer people do, so it helped me a lot on maintaining focus.
Well rebirth is fixing that. In DC Rebirth Wally tells Barry that creating flashpoint didn't create the new 52. Somone used flashpoint to mess with the universe
Sweetexorcist7 I also can’t wait for Green Arrow & the Canaries with Mia Smoak taking up the mantle of the Green Arrow, which has already been green lit for a back door pilot to take arrows tv spot

It's shocking that Supergirl was stronger than other Supermen here but was weak when she returned in 2005.
@@supergirlvideoclips894 Replying a mere 4 years later, she wasn't -- that's an incorrect conclusion (or maybe a little girlie pandering) by Rob.
Rob, first off thank you for this video! COIE is my favorite comic book story, I love the stuff you've been uploading and I hope you do a infinite crisis video!
DC/CW Elseworlds brought me here.
The Anti-Monitor will rise.
Ready Player Two The dude who gets defeated by Superboy Prime?
@@alirahman8642 Homer: Yeah. Think about it.
This book is fn amazing. Perez is the man. Those page layouts are sooooo dope
You should do Crisis on two earths, infinite crisis, final crisis and convergence. In fact, you should highlight the 52 earths.
rob. this story got me into comics. I listen to your videos all night at work. Your channel is my favorite thanks man.
Anyone from elseworld
ARYAN WAYNE crisis in infinite earths confirmed for fall 2019
@@xfrostbite935x9 so excited
this was one of my favorite stories when I was younger. THANK YOU so much for covering it.
this should have gotten a two hour treatment. I remember this series and got each issue as it came out and there is so much more that could have been covered. No tthat you didnt do a good job on this, Rob...i love your narrative and it would have gone so much farther with a greater time run.
good job though :)
I cannot even imagine how insanely hard to comprehend this story would have been in monthly installments in a pre-internet age.
I love the Crisis stories and having it condensed like this was fantastic to witness! Thank you Rob!
cant believe i watched whole thing. you have a great voice
Hey man.... comprehensive and articulate! Subscribed :-)
I never really followed these books, but I’m with the CW shows since day 1, and now I needed to learn about this storyline that is coming up next year. Lots of ‘tubers who comment on the shows have been saying this is coming.
CW is gonna mess it up. I can already tell. They don’t even have half of the Justice League yet
I was waiting so damn long for this
Rob that was a pretty tight video.i was glad you did a video on Pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths video, many people forget there wouldn't be new 52 and Rebirth without the Original Continuity and Multiverse. I think that's more important than what they have out now
I just realized how much the most recent Secret Wars was very close to this story.
Andrew Iverson marvel always stole from DC
@@doctorlegend3921 I agree
Not mention civil war rip offs kingdom come
Dark reign and necrosha rip offs blackest night
House of M ripoffs zero hour
Secret invasion heavenly inspired from Millenium
Original sin rip offs identity crisis
The Omega Effect Idk what any of those are or who copied who but I do know marvel and D.C. steal from each other so much
dhamin iqbal basically a reference point of the comic book plots/storylines or concepts which marvel were influenced by and therefore copied. And recreated their own version of the originals source material which dc has prewritten
That sweet sweet Perez art.
I'm here to refresh my Crisis memory for next year's crossover!
I swear
Robb I just wanted to thank you for being so charming, helpful and understanding. These videos have helped me so much in my quest to really get into comics but whilst Im still a broke college student your fantastic narrations and boundless knowledge is something truly spectacular, so thank you thank you so very much!!
welcome my fellow cw watchers we will be prepared together
raven Lmaoo
And we will cry together
Austin Gaming because it’s shit
Exactly!!! I’ve wanted to get into comics for years!!! But I have no idea where the hell to start and know if I just picked up a comic I’d have no idea what’s going on. You sir I completely thank you for these videos. You are an awesome person
Lol. You called Brainiac Ultron
quincy moore and several times he said marvel instead of DC
20:30, for everyone looking for it
You are really enthusiastic and it makes your videos 1000 times better
You cover these arcs on point, good stuff
btw, 20.48 i think you meant Brainiac, you said Ultron..
Hey Rob could you do a video on INFINITE CRISIS?. I really want to see what happens next for them.
Comic Pop has a Back Issues on it. Rob also did a video on Super Boy Prime which covers most of the important beats of that story.
pious83 i did see the episode about superboy prime, but i want him to explain about Infinite Crisis and what happened in that story. Plus i like listening to his voice when his explains comic book stories.
Yeah that would be great
Ultron?
Always enjoyed how thorough you are
About time someone did my most favorite Comic Book Saga of all time! Thank you!!!
Ah, Crisis of Infinite Earths. Now THAT'S how you end a super hero universe. Not that anemic Flash story called Flashpoint.
Well rebirth is fixing that. In DC Rebirth Wally tells Barry that creating flashpoint didn't create the new 52. Somone used flashpoint to mess with the universe
+YvesTheKoala Wasnt it Doctor Manhatten?
travis oliver Thats one of the theories. We haven't found out yet
No, it was Dan DiDio
Walter Anderson agreed
Rob, I love your content, this is for me like festivity. So thank you!
20:25 lol Guardians and Ulton X-over OMG lol
What a narration! besides what a story. I am writing a thesis for the post-crisis era comics and you absolutely nailed it.
Can’t wait to see how the cw handles this epic story
Sweetexorcist7 I also can’t wait for Green Arrow & the Canaries with Mia Smoak taking up the mantle of the Green Arrow, which has already been green lit for a back door pilot to take arrows tv spot
Saw everyone of your videos. Best most underrated TH-camr
Who else is here after watching Crisis on Infinite earth part 3?
FINALLY, A video on this series lmaooo been scowering TH-cam for one for years
When Rob says she's coming out guns blazing I imagine him to be naked for some reason.
Jimmy Turner he is
wearing a ball cap
Steve Eaton yeah of course a ball cap
Devils advocate reference
I was just wee child when this came out (ok, I was a teeen) but the impact of this at the time was mindblowing
And to know the CW is doing this now for the Arrowverse,
it's a Gen Xers wet dream...
more or less
HERE BEFORE CRISIS HAPPNES WITH THE DC CW SHOWS
When you have read the comics and seem to not get the whole picture and misunderstood some of the things here is rob dissecting and explaining it all to u.
Rob is a blessing to us all.
Good story, I'm surprised on how great the artwork is. What was that about a Bat-Auction?
love the hard work you do for us all, man. great videos. ever think of doing a wildstorm series, seeing as warren ellis is bringing it back? would love to see the histories of team 7, wildcats, stormwatch, authority, and all the connections of them all. thanks again!
Here after elseworlds....arrowverse!!
Thank you for doing this storyline!
red tornado has such a cool back story
I'm convinced only you could have explained all that in a way that kept my attention and made me understand. Thanks, Rob. 👍🏻
