Oh my. I just finished watching all your videos today. Such a treat. Refreshing to see an honest, open, not filled with ego presentation. Beautiful. You just blossomed! You know, you whispered in the first 2 or 3. I had to turn it up when you spoke! Then you got through all those lonely days. Good for you! You are very tough. Before long you were singing karaoke. How cool is that!!! Your gear video also reflected who you are. You spent money on the important stuff and pinched pennies on everything else. You didn’t have to have all the coolest gear. I think you’re great. I could feel your Faith a little. Just the right amount. Humble there, too. A perfect example of how a person of Faith can live her Faith, not talk about it. Also good for you. I’m 70. Married to an angel who lets me hike for 5 to10 day stretches. I really wouldn’t want too be gone any longer! I just got a new hip! I’m out beginning to train for the Spring. I have 965 finished. From the Mass border to down past that cemetery you got lost in, in Pearisburg, VA. I’m in PA. I also fell in love with Virginia! My daughter and I are going back down for 10 days in April. Lovely videos. Thank you. “All-In” PS I got sepsis and spent 3 days in Hospital this year, too! I’m glad we both survived!!! There is lots left to do!

Your perspective on my hike was really enjoyable to read. I agree, my courage and confidence really grew on trail and it is fun to watch that back on my videos and see myself change.
I hope your new hip keeps you trekking for a long time to come! You are almost halfway through your section hiking! That is incredible. Wishing you wellness, All-In!

I'm always perplexed at who clicks "thumbs down" on a good hiking video. Who does that? SPIELBERG?? This is great and I hope you find a way back to the trail.

Good content, I really like your video. You are a real person with real fears that I felt when watching. I bet you were pleased when the other hiker showed up. The bear would eat him instead of you.

Great video. I hope to do the AT in a few years. For now, my backpacking videos are just 4-5 days in a trip. Nice channel. Subscribed. Crow✌️

My daughter and I were out there and camped at Stover a couple years ago. We sat on that log and dangled our feet in the water for about an hour.

How long is the approach trail? I'm making plan to do the first section of the AT. It is suppose to be 85 miles.

So I'm going out on a limb and guessing you have all the Friends DVDs...
Also, more people get hurt taking waterfall photos than anything else on trail, beware!

Hi! great video. I am thinking about walking it next year. this spring im walking norway for five months, and here we can walk for days without meeting much people. How is it on the appalachian trail? can one go for a few days without meeting alot of people? Thanx again for the work you put into your channel

Hi Ben - if you are going NOBO in spring, you will be with LOTS of people. I had such a unique experience because most people left trail once covid hit. From what I've heard from others, and read in old trail logs, the shelters are full most nights and you will be camping with dozens of people the first month or so. If you want a more solitary experience, southbound might be the way to go!

So glad you didn't put music in your video, drowning out the sounds of nature. Have you watched Loamseeker? Peace and quiet and positivity.

I just used my iPhone 11. I carried an Anker battery charger. I think mine was a 20,000 but you can probably get away with 10,000.
