I don't know why but Eyedol is my favorite redesign in the entire game. He's genuinely creepy now. He's got the best outfits. He's got the best theme. And he's got the weirdest gimmick.

It bothers me so much that the white side of Eyedol's armor in the Hisako match is always closer to the camera, even when he turns to face the opposite direction. I know it is just mirrored, but still...

I didn't dawn on me until this costume, but Eyedol has a static pose, the way Sagat used to with the eyepatch and scar switching sides. For 3D models I kinda expected more from KI.

Eyedol has been pretty hype on opening week! Im thinking about entering him in my own little brigade of mains...
(Which consists as of now: Jago, Sabrewulf, Orchid, Spinal, TJ, Riptor, Aganos ((Of-*fucking*-course)), Hisako, Cinder, Kim, Tusk and Gargos. Though ive been playing alot of Riptor as of lately..)

That's the magic of KI, man. With a roster that colorful and full of variety, it's really hard to choose just one character to play. I feel like MKX is the same way, sort of.
I personally main Spinal, but I also play a lot of Glacius and Gargos. I occasionally play Rash, Riptor, Tusk, and Aganos, but I plan to play with them a little more (been unlocking colors and stuff).
I haven't gotten Eyedol yet, but I can't wait to play him!
+MonkeySharkPro i agree with this. I have 2 mains in both games (Sadira and Maya in KI, Ermac and Tremor in MKX) but I love playing as all the other characters too.

That scarecrow-thing costume is adorably ridiculous! X3 And, OMG, that second costume is AWESOME!! Even that third one is cool! Who designs those costumes, man? They're so creative!
And I don't think you should punch yourself just to switch, I like how you dmaster both styles and fight according to the style fate lets you have. :) But oh well, if you eventually think it will be better for you, then go ahead. Let's see how it goes. ;)

I actually just got KI. I bought Spinal with it cuz he was cheap, he was there and I wanted to main him anyhow. I'll be delivering the spooks on KI.
That's our Max. Complains about silly-looking Season 1 cosmetics, then makes Eyedol look like a hand-stitched child's doll.
A NIGHTMARISH hand-stitched child's doll, yes, but still.
Sadira still has the worst cosmetic items in the game imo. Like her Default and her Retro Vampire (which is almost the same as default) still look the best imo.
Eyedol has to be a HEADACHE to play. I'm completely SPLIT down the middle over him being a character I'll play or not.

Did Max explain last video what that bar above his shadow meter is? I know it shows red for melee and purple as magic/ranged but I can't figure out why it's got 3 pips...
Each head can build up to 3 pips for the other with a specific move. So magic head builds pips for melee head and vice versa. Melee can use pips for run and jump cancels on normals and magic can empower certain ranged attacks like calling down extra meteors and such
you can buff range with melee abilitys and vice versa for a pip and you gain them in there respective stances
you get the pips hitting with certain moves (the electric teleport in mage, the "scream in your face" in warrior), and they give the other form special things (for example, pips gained from Mage's teleport give Warrior the ability to jump-cancel ANYTHING)
Don't punch yourself Eyedol!!! You'll go blind!!!

Max I just got to ask how is this game compared to mkx and street fighter v? I never played it because, I own a ps4 but loved ki since super nes. what's different about the game?

KI is fucking fun.
The combo system and the character variety/creativity is what sets this game apart in my opinion.
+I'm Batman ki looks like its on the same style of game play as mk but ki seems like their characters have special special abilities.
I see instinct I see shadow bars then I see that eyedol and the ghost girl has another special bar.
In my opinion Killer Instinct is the most enjoyable and hype fighting game currently out. The music and stages are wicked awesome, colorful cast of VERY unique characters. It's easy to get into and can be a good challenge to fully master (or even remotely) and at the end of the day it is still very fair with giving players tool to handle opponents (in the way of breaking Combos with Combo Breakers and then Counter Breakers to trick those trying to counter you). SFV is decent fun, where it has a solid roster and a fun gameplay design/mechanic but it wears out very fast imo. MKX is a ton of fun, with a large & fun roster, tons of extras to get into, satisfying sound effects and visuals on moves and a great slice of single player content. The only downside to it is (imo) the online mentality and how the game can be unresponsive on some moves at times.
I was rooting for that Hisako, but they could've went a little easier on the parrying. Max has a tendency to just dash in when he switches from mage to warrior, so that's the most appropriate time xD.

You know I just noticed something. Eyedols Magehead is always towards the Camera no matter which Directoon hes Facing. When he turns around around his halfs switch side. I guess its there so the Player doesnt get confused.
That and it's easier to program instead of making 2 position. You'll notice in almost every fighting game that characters switch stances when they change sides ie right hand/foot forward and then left hand/foot forward. This way they just have to mirror the other stance instead of programming in another one.
All the characters have that going on, take a look at some of the character models from right to left, they're always facing from the same side, kinda bothers me with some of them.

Can anyone explain to me how the combo system works in this game? Can you "make" your own combos in the sense that you dont have to do a certain chain of button presses? like LP MP HP you can do MP HP HP for example? Because some of these combos looks insane and i dont belive i will ever be able to remember so many different chains
Make your own basically. You can use any button as an auto linker. Heavies do more damage but are slower. Lights do less but faster. Your opponent can react and break though. You can of course counter break to catch it. Execution is easy for combos but mind games are more demanding.

Pretty much the rehashed story goes that Eyedol was once a powerful being, but Gargos pretty much killed him, splitting his head in half. Kan-Ra tried to revive Eyedol and make it serve him, but backfired. With his two heads split, he's pretty much become TWO powerful beings in one body.

I really wish he did one as well. She's my favorite character in the entire game by far. I'm pretty decent with her and I would love to see how he would play her. The vast majority of Kim's I see online have no idea what they are doing.
