Crash one is so unforgiving because you don't have any of the abilities from the sequels not even as an extra option for completing the other two on the n' sane trilogy before crash 1 that would have been a cool little extra since I'm sure the double jump would have helped a lot here especially on the high road

They also made Crash fall faster in this version and if you keep bouncing on the same spot the game will make you slip off and eventually fall,something that wasn't in the original game either.
Thank god they didn't attempt Stormy Ascent on his run or that would have hurt worse since it was cut from crash 1 originally for running out of time to fix its difficulty before release but it is in the original version you just need to use a Game Shark or AR or something similar to make the game load it up they added it in the n' sane trilogy as DLC just as hard as it was before but fixed to be actually finished and the ability to unlock Coco for use in all 3 games was a nice touch as well for this remake but the physics have been changed and the controls were a little slippery compared to the original games but it was still fun

@ max solis yes. you can 100% this game a lot easier than 1 since you dont have to worry about saves and can die multiple times (except for colored gems). you just forgot because you been playing games that allow you to finish them 2 to 3 lives.

Supposedly the jumps are different than they were back in the day, but it's also that when we were younger we had a lot more time to play, and were also likely playing alone to get more practice at the level. I remember dying a great deal is crash when I think back.

To be honest: That High Road Level drove me nuts one night.... so I decided to use the rope tactic. I mean: Its cheap, but the game does allow you to walk on the ropes.... so why not use them? And because of that tactic: I died less in the second road level!
I was a bit off with the deaths on High Road because there was a part where they died quite fast while Twitch was refreshing and syncing up on my end. Counting those deaths and Game Overs was fun that night.

LoL! Why does this always happen when you go back and play an old game you used to play back in the day? We completely forget how to play the old games after we learn how to play the new ones.
I think new games hand hold a bit too much, when I play older games sometimes I'm like where's the waypoint? Then I have to remember I actually have to pay attention. The Witcher 3 has a very odd hand holding part where a guy tells you to follow a path and make a turn once you see this rock or something, but you could just look at the map and it guides you straight to the objective which takes a the phone out of it
About Witcher 3 and any other sandbox game, you can't simply walk randomly, you need some sort of guidance. A literal arrow pointing the direction is not the ideal solution, but this kinda of genre needs a navigation system. When a game holds your hand it's something like the Donkey kong returns series, you died so much that the game shows a literal walktrough. Or CoD telling the obvious, Zelda companions, etc Witcher has some moments without any guidance, like the first time you need to finda Keira's house in the woods. It's a cool little moment, but you can't have that for the entire game, cheap frustration (just like the artificial "hard" games that the Souls niche loves so much).

I got platinum trophies for Crash 2 and 3 easily.... Didn't get it on Crash 1 though because of the Relic (time trial) challenges. Sometimes I think about going back and doing it but then I'm reminded of the bridge and slippery climb levels. They were hard enough without being timed.

For those curious, the ropes WERE made harder to stand on. No clue if it's a physics thing or a bug or an intentional choice. Either way, f**k these levels!
From playing this over the last few days you can tell there are problems , hit boxes are iffy for some obstacles , inputs are dropped, jumps dont seem to be right and obstacles such as some places on "the high road" just dont have the right colision, the camera doesnt follow correctly at times, obstacles dont go transparent when the block the camera as well. Admittedly this is based on older design methods when games were harder and I have become more accustomed to the easier games of modern day however there are problems that need to be fixed as genuinely this isnt right.
