Ari’s Big Displacement Garage | Inside the Garage

  • Why have a 1000cc bike when you can have twenty 50cc bikes? Rather than building his garage around how many bikes to have, Ari’s philosophy is to have a total displacement so he can have a lot more small bikes! Ari’s home garage is organized chaos, so that he’s prepared to work on just about every bike possible. Let us know what you think of Ari’s garage and how does your space stack up!
    Can’t get enough? Ari’s got a ton more Moto content on Common Tread! rvz.la/3RSEQ4T

    A trick for the ziplock bags is to put the contents label on a card or piece of paper inside the bag. You can still read it and you can reuse the bag for other projects. It reduces waste and makes those one-time-use plastics last a very long time.

    • @imDioxitCF

      Or you can write the name of the components on pieces of paper tape then stick them on the zip-lock bag.

    • @BlindIo42
      @BlindIo42 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@imDioxitCF I tried that, it's sometimes difficult to get the tape off and it can rip the bag. For some of the heavier plastic it works okay. I have a stack of little more papers next to the bench and just grab one each time.

      The card on the inside is a great tip. The hospital I worked at years ago had skull flaps in freezer to await re-implantation, had the info taped to the outside of the bag, labels fell off and it was a mess!

    I totally get the tool box as your favorite thing in your garage! Just downsized at 63 and had to get rid of a bunch of garage stuff. Not the Craftsman tool chest that I've had since I was 18 and had my first job as a mechanic. I might have to get buried in it. Great video as always Ari.

    Man I'm close! I have a single garage for my toys though and a bit less room. I have a regular tire stand that just holds the tire at hip height so you can wrestle it easier with the wrenches and lock it down... even more manual and stores away on a shelf when not in use. Welder is the next big thing on my list and a more versatile lift. Ari is a legend, really want to meet him someday!

    👍on the parts bags I got in the habit of using them when I was a jet mechanic in the Air Force whenever we took apart the engine those fasteners got put in a bag and labeled our bags were cloth with a built in tag and string closure, we did use a LOT of zip lock bags
    I saw on Amazon you can get the heavy duty ones 100 ct for about 9 bucks.
    Small bikes are way more fun I'm glad I'm not the only one, looking to get a small motorcycle soon, LOL I'm in foot, bicycle, bus and train mode right now.😆

    Tire changer question. Every time I change tires in the shop they also use another machine that checks the wheels balance and apply "stick on weights" if necessary. I thought that even if I could change tire myself, I couldn't do the wheel balancing properly. However If I could change tires myself it would make life sooooo much easier for me. Especially if I could change between my street and dirt tires.
