$350 Danner Acadia and $100 Danner Rat Temperate are basically the same boot

Both of these boots seem to be the same to me. If I would have known of the Danner Rat’s existence it would have saved me a lot of money. This is why I made this video.

When was stationed in Alaska in 92 I had a pair of the black ones.

The cracking is because they are different cuts of leather... One is designed to hold a polishable toe for law enforcement.. the other is for marines to play in the sand. You can put a coat of leather treatment on the acadias and they will be much more durable. They will scratch up in heavy brush or rocky terrain regardless... two great boots but two very different uses.. I just got some Rats for like 80 bucks new... it is a crazy price difference.. Danner gets rats overstocked a lot more often and the acadias require a bit more craftsmanship and finer leather to put together...

I didn’t think about the Acadia having to hold a polish, thank you for pointing that out. Yeah the price difference is crazy, I wish I would of known about the RAT before. Overstock and leather cut makes sense for some of the price difference, still crazy though. Thanks for the ideas.

@@AaaAaa-jh9os yeah, the normal price is around $100 but you can find them pretty easily for $80 if you look around. $320? That’s tough, they are great boots though.

I do landscaping so I walk a lot. The soles of the boots in this video are basically flat right now.
