FYI, you might not always see the character move for it to work. I've been able to get to the fly menu and there isn't a boulder moving sound when I press in the boulder's direction but if I either hold in that direction or move over a few times, the boulder eventually moves. Just a tip in case anyone is trying and not hearing the boulder move on the first push.

the finders of this glitch are not part of blaines' community, they are part of the speedrunning community, and this is the exact same method as yesterday's video, just with the misinformation that blaines and the leaker put in removed. That's what the speedrun glitch hunters have been putting their work into for the last few days in order to make it clean and have something nice to show when Home would have been dropped (but obviously now it will be patched before Home)
While I dont necessarily have a problem with it, I would personally hesitate to call a group primarily looking for ways to Cheat via glitches that really shouldn't even exist the 'best'

Not only did we find a way to glitch in 1.3 but we arguably found an easier way as well. Wow, thank you to everyone and your contributions. I’m enjoying this game 10x more because of this!
Idk man, just hold a, r and a, then press a, then surf after in the menu, and get back on land, that can be done in under 10 sec and you can get to water in the move relearner town easy, but yes I agree this is insane.
For those who still can’t get it, I was able to do it with a slightly different method. First do all the set up, have strength active, hover over fly, etc. Then tap left/right into the boulder and press R at the same time. You aren’t looking for character movement or boulder sound yet. Then, as you press A to select fly from the poketch menu, hold into the direction of the boulder. You should hear the boulder moving as the fly map menu opens up. (Note, it seems like you have to push A a tiny bit before holding a direction.) From here just follow the video. This doesn’t feel like it should work, but, at least for me, it does. It seems like you have to activate it first by tapping into the boulder as you open the poketch menu, and then actually trigger it by holding into the boulder as you select fly. Hope this helps someone 😁

I might stay on 1.1.2 I’m not sure if it’s easier or not but I want to get shaymin so I gotta stay on 1.1.2 for now but once I get shaymin I can update no problem it’s good knowing the glitch still exists
If you freeze the Item-Bag you can use + to open the corresponding menu and then go on your Bike, after that do something Prof. Rowan does not allow and after his TextBox ist gone you can move again in the Menu
Thanks so much for finding this! The setup is definitely a bit harder than previous versions but still do able with some of the tips in the comments as well! You are limited in things you can do with the menu glitch now since you cant move, but besides the duping you mentioned, I found that you can still do the mass-release/declone boxes with this glitch if you do an extra step. Since you are stuck outside pressing Y to change selection mode in the boxes will open up union room menu, but you can just bypass by using quick menu into something like a fishing rod to get the rowan dialogue, then there you can press Y and change selection mode during the dialogue, then do the rest of steps regularly to mass delete. IDK if my comment will even be seen but I just wanted to share. Thanks again for sharing this to us!
Right? I've been cloning like nobody's business for weeks! I still have 2 full boxes of rare candies. Plus, I'm gonna need the menu glitch to get rid of the several boxes of duped Pokémon.
@@aw3418 BLAINES has made a video about it before, I'd recommend checking that out since I don't quite remember. It has been awhile since I last did anything involving the Menu Glitch. From what I do remember you are essentially moving pokemon into a box and then overriding the moving by swapping the boxes thus not moving them but replacing them with an empty box so they just kinda disappear.
To those shiny hunting Shaymin, be aware that updating to 1.1.3. will remove Shaymin! You may be able to clone pokemon/items again, but miss out on the chance to get Shaymin early. So if you have not already updated, get Shaymin first in either 1.1.1. or 1.1.2!
So what if you do the glitch, save at Shaymin´s location, update, shiny hunt and then fly away. Does this actually work or? Edit: Nevermind, just read that they removed the static encounter completely.
Sometimes if you open up the hm menu you won't hear the boulder move but if you click on fly and move again you can hear it move and that's how you know it worked. So yea sometimes the first time moving the boulder wont make a sound.
Just press R, Right (towards boulder) and A on Fly in very quick succession but not at the same time then see if you can push the boulder while the map is open. See my second general comment about 5 minutes ago.
I still can’t seem to do the glitch I don’t know if it’s because Blanes was using a different controller because every time I managed to get the poketch and move the bolder at the same the poketch goes back to the top right corner
Press r first then right on dpad quickly one after the other (make sure fly is selected) then push right once more on dpad after fly is open ull hear the bolder move then complete rest of instructions
I’ve updated my game to 1.1.3 and have been trying the “super easy, barely an inconvenience” method for over an hour and it refuses to work. I’m doing what Blaines said/did and my game isn’t glitching.
hmmm, so lets see. Make sure strength is active, try moving into the rock and hitting X to get closer to it like how i did it in the previous video. Then quickly tap R and direction on D pad simultaneously. Not slow presses. Quickly press and let go, very quick. Hope this helps
@@Tristan02539 The other 1.1.2 method was holding a on fly, surfing, hitting a to open fly map, return to land, then fly glitch. That was just as easy as this.
Whenever I use this method and my poketch opens, if I happen to push the boulder while the menu is open my screen goes fuzzy and my poketch closes. Idk if I’m just getting the timing wrong or what
I’m still confused by this, I did the 1.1.2 one fine by spamming R and A on Fly but even this easier version of the new one is stumping me lol. I’m using joycons in handheld mode, if that matters, don’t have pro controllers but you said it doesn’t matter. I might be confused about what you mean by see your player move- we’re already against the Boulder, you mean attempt to walk into it? I’m not sure what to look for before pressing A on Fly. Also some other videos (in the past 12 hours) seem to be doing it in the same way as the Pokémon center door but with the boulder, ie just opening the Fly menu while pressing R and trying to push it with that open. If that’s possible, it hasn’t worked for me. Can someone help a little more with this? Thank you!
@@lucasdesousa290 R activates on release, so if u hold it for like less than a second it should work a little better. but if you hold R for too long the poketech will go away so u still have to time it. that’s what worked for me
Well I'm struggling with this so I have a suggestion Get yourself a thing that displays the inputs on your controller, it helps a lot with helping people with the timing because "at the same time" doesn't really help sometimes
**For anyone having trouble with this glitch** Perform the glitch as he states; "R" & left/right on the D-pad. In the fly menu hold the direction for at least a full second. Strength doesn't fire if you quick tap it. You've most likely triggered the glitch a few times and not held down the directional button long enough.

1.1.2 was easy too. The easy way to do it was press X and A twice then hit A right after and it worked. (Also not trying to be rude, but found that tip in a different kind of video)
@@reijhinru1474 well, there are a couple of glitches you can't do without moving, including the mass release method which requires you to be indoors with the menu glitch active so that you can press the Y button without the ycom activating
What a roller coaster. First I watched your video on 1.1.3 menu glitch that was a bit complicated and had guesswork and you mentioned a discord server where this was found. Then minutes later I watched MetaTheFool's video on how to do it easier, he mentions you and the discord.. Now you've got an easier method and no mentions, can't help but wonder we didn't watch the same guy.
If you're struggling with the boulder: the initial timing is relatively easy, you need to tap D-pad (don't hold it) then R as soon as you see the character starts moving. On the fly menu, to check if you got it right, make sure you HOLD the D-pad in the direction you pressed it for at least 1 second and check if you hear the sound. My mistake was that I used to just tap the D-pad on the fly menu and so I couldn't hear the boulder moving even when I got the timing right
After activating the glitch and getting in your boxes you can't hit Y to multiselect which prevents you from using the multi release method for boxes. Anything we can do about that?

I’d have more respect for him if he gave props to the guy he stole this from…. The guy who made this easy version legitimately gave him credit for finding the menu glitch …. Blaines lost a lot of my respect for this …. If you’re going to steal a video from someone atleast shout them out like they did for you
For anyone having issues with the new menu glitch I believe I found a way to make it more consistent: When tapping the direction D-Pad and R, you want to be sure that after you press Fly, you are still holding the D-Pad direction I've found that almost always guarantee's the glitch Note: it is AFTER you press fly ; you can let go while on the poketch screen to select fly
Guys I have a much more effective way of doing this. Instead of standing there at 2:27, go to the rightmost wall. Then quickly use your joystick to dash towards the Boulder (don’t move it!) and press R. Hover over to the Fly option and as soon as you press A, hold your joystick to the left so the Boulder moves (if it doesn’t move you have to retry). Now you will be on the town map and press X to see the menu glitch activate! I tried this many times and it’s pretty much guaranteed to work. Make sure that the Boulder remains at the position just like in 2:27 until you move it after you select Fly with the A button.
@@XxdarkxkiraxX There is an easier method for this. You don't actually have to see any movement. Just press R and press the D-pad after (to the direction of the boulder and it must be VERY QUICK) very quick that you feel like you're pressing R+D-pad at the same time (which is not) then continue the same process after. Try not looking at any animation because it sometimes destroy the momentum.
YOO IM ACTUALLY PROUD OF MYSELF. I was struggling last name was basically doing this. I went to the corner of the Boulder where it wouldn’t move when I walked into it and then used dpad to walk into it. I would flick the stick down and do the r and a. Worked like a charm

It doesn't work for me. When I press R right before the boulder shift and after the character movement, the menu opens but quickly closes automatically as the boulder completes its shifting animation. I've tried pressing a to select fly in that brief window, but it does not recognize my inputs until after the menu has automatically closed itself. Any tips?
My wife's switch gets stuck on the town map when I try to fly. I can get into the map via fly on the poketch and even hear the Boulder move, but when I click on a place to fly and then press x, the fly menu disappears and im stuck on the map. I can do it easily on my switch however. Anyone else get this?
It doesn’t work anymore or does it? U see when i wrote this and if i try it, it doesnt work. It automatically closes the poketch app if the stone is moved.

To those who can't still do it, here is an EASIER METHOD. Instead of pressing R + D-pad at the same time, you can press R first then D-pad VERY QUICK that it looks like you're pressing it at the same time. THIS WORKS 100%. the whole process is still the same, except this.
@@caseymcclure1193 it kicks you out of the poketch screen then the boulder moves right? It's because you are pressing the D-pad very slow after the R button. Just like what I said, after clicking the R button you must click the D-pad very quick. Do not look or watch for any animation for it sometimes ruin your momentum. Click R and D-pad after, and don't look at the screen. haha

I gotta be missing something I can get to the point of opening the menu in the the fly map. But when the menu opens I can’t hit yes to fly and when I leave the menu I get frozen on the map and have to reset. Please help a stupid man
Thank you so much for this new tutorial. This new glitch is even easier than 1.1.2. Don’t have to deal with going in and out of Pokémon center. Just two black screens to get it working. It works like a charm for me. Thank you so much. It was so annoying to grind Bp and other things just to get items at battle palace.
Do the following and you will have a successrate of 80%. You have to watch out that the cursor on the app is on "flight" 1) press r 2) press left or right 3)press a Do these steps quickly and it works so good

An easy way to do it, because the poketch opens upon RELEASE of R rather than on press, you can hold R then hit either right or left as you RELEASE R. That's the most consistent way I can do it now. You dont have too long of a window to hold R though because it closes the poketch after like a second or so obviously, so it's still rather quick. Thank you for the video!
I discovered something cool, when in the map, if you hit right the first time abd the boulder doesn't move, try going right several times and I don't know how but that worked
I can’t seem to get the fly but working I keep getting the second menu up easy but as soon as I press a it just brings me into what ever I’m hovering over instead of flying
I'm not sure if I'm the only one. But after I hear the Boulder move I hit A then X but I get stuck in the x menu. not able to select fly. Then if I hit B all the way out the game is frozen on the map
To clarify, this glitch only works if you're on version 1.1.3 if your game is up-to-date you WILL NOT be able to do this glitch. It was fun while it lasted :(
@blaines @Adam Gregg I tried popping out my bike with the glitched out menu open by trying to open a function like the map etc etc then backing out. But I did it with the bag and it just kicked me out. Maybe try a little work around with this??

After using strength (haven’t moved boulder) have fly ready to go on the poketch, all the ya gotta press now is R then left and then mash A ! Do it on 0 background music as well helps with hearing the boulder, cheers bro, hope this helps lads!
i dont get what im doing wrong, but no matter how many times I try I cant hear the bolder being pushed after I click my directional button again in the fly menu. i see my character move slightly beforehand, I hit fly then the direction I was moving in, and I hear nothing. No matter what I just cant get it EDIT: ok I finally figured it out, but I can only do it with the analog stick. I just keep running back and forth between the two sides of the boulder hitting the direction on the stick + r at the same time over and over, and it takes me like 5 tries but I can do it now
STEP 1: Face DOWN next to the boulder on the Left or Right after activating strength. (use the d pad to get in the grid next to the boulder) STEP 2: Hit right(or left) on the analog stick and R at the same time till you see your character turn to the boulder. (Pay attention to your character closely) STEP 3: Make the poketch mini again, because it will be enlarged after hitting R and right(or left) at the same time (do not close it completely though) STEP 4: Make sure your cursor is over Fly in step 3, then Hit R to open the poketch and A to open fly similar to how you spam R and A. (R first then immediately A) STEP 5: THEN right after the map opens, hold the stick to the right or left, and I mean HOLD IT. Get the first 3 steps right before performing 4 and 5. And DO NOT RUSH. TAKE YOUR TIME. IT'S ALL WE GOT! Also, DISABLE AUTO UPDATES IN YOUR SYSTEM SETTINGS The Goal is to glitch your movement to the boulder by flicking right and R to open the poketch. Then hitting R and A to open the fly menu, THEN FINALLY, hearing the boulder move while the fly map is OPEN. Basically, if you see the boulder move before your fly map is open, you messed up. If you talk to the rock, you failed. If your character won't move the rock in the menu, you did it a bit too slow (holding right or left into the boulder after the menu is open). Everytime I get the poketch app open the game pulls me out of it when the boulder gets moved, idk if I'm doing it early or late but no matter what I do it doesn't seem to work. I'm probably just bad at doing this tho

I wanted to say thank you to sharing all this to us and I really like your dedication for the game. I began playing pokemon games since pokemon pikachu on gameboy and have since play every main entries. this bring me back memory
For the people having difficulty trying to get the rock to move, this helped for me. I used to hold on to left/right analog switch. Instead try tapping it lightly just enough to move the rock. Now I can easily perform the glitch.
I think I may have accidentally discovered the easy one yesterday while trying to do the hard one… lol Edit: the hard one isn’t as hard you think! If you are still discouraged, you can achieve your goal (even if there is no reason to)
I don't know if I am too stupid but I keep messing up the timing, been trying to get it for an hour now, sometimes I get the poketch to open but I happen to move the rock at the same time so it instantly closes.
This is amazing. Finally i understand how to to fly with the menu open. Wait a little bit like when Celestic appear on screen then press X. I kept having problems with trying to use fly while the menu was open.
What worked for me was I clicked on the d-pad once to face away from the boulder and then I clicked the button on the d-pad towards the boulder with the R button, then I was able to move the boulder.
My R button isnt registering everytime. I only got this to work twice. Its not as easy as I thought. I get the menu up while pressing right or left and it either dont work the first 15 times I try it or my R button dont register. And im doing everything right. Any suggestions?
I...I can't believe they really made the glitch easier, like I found the spam method easy on a pro controller but this is just like...a feature at this point.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm following the steps, but once it gets to the fly map and I open the glitched menu, the "yes" and "no" option to fly just disappear then I'm stuck on the map screen.
So around 3:00-3:02, he says the timing is a x and I get that part, however when he says to hit a again to fly all it does is open up the menu. I cant actually fly. I've tried the rest of the glitch without the actual flying but it just won't work. Any help?
Not sure if this will help, but I found it easier facing down, next to the rock and then pressing left/right and R. It’s like a simultaneous press (left/right, and once you see the character turn, press R) it’s just more wiggle room I guess you have a little bit more of a buffer to press R. Did it on the JoyCon and Pro Controller. Worked pretty well. Not sure if this was said but thought it might help. :) So just face down (I guess up is the same) and then press R once you see movement. Then fly and press left and right. Hope this helps :)
Ey everyone who helped with finding a new method, Nice Job!!! Now Blaines we need a method for all the glitches with the method glitch Example: The Mass-releasing pokemons (Since it doesn't work for this new method that I know of)
Struggling with this... using joycons but when I finally get the poketch to open and boulder to move at the same time, I go to the town I want to fly to and try and time the A + X (even isync with the video) but the fly menu never comes up. I assume my timing is off but I can't seem to get it to work....
Kinda funny that in V.1.1.2 the First Glitch was with the Boulders, and now in V.1.1.3 its actually usefull. Makes me Wonder If other useless Glitches from Before will somehow become usefull

What do you mean by freezing the Item bag? If moving is possible in 1.1.3, it could allow for more past glitches.

@@aw3418 BLAINES has made a video about it before, I'd recommend checking that out since I don't quite remember. It has been awhile since I last did anything involving the Menu Glitch.
From what I do remember you are essentially moving pokemon into a box and then overriding the moving by swapping the boxes thus not moving them but replacing them with an empty box so they just kinda disappear.
To those shiny hunting Shaymin, be aware that updating to 1.1.3. will remove Shaymin! You may be able to clone pokemon/items again, but miss out on the chance to get Shaymin early. So if you have not already updated, get Shaymin first in either 1.1.1. or 1.1.2!

So what if you do the glitch, save at Shaymin´s location, update, shiny hunt and then fly away. Does this actually work or?

Sometimes if you open up the hm menu you won't hear the boulder move but if you click on fly and move again you can hear it move and that's how you know it worked. So yea sometimes the first time moving the boulder wont make a sound.
@@albisings That's good to know, but it's not what I'm having problems with. I just can't get the Fly menu open at all.
Just press R, Right (towards boulder) and A on Fly in very quick succession but not at the same time then see if you can push the boulder while the map is open. See my second general comment about 5 minutes ago.

I’ve updated my game to 1.1.3 and have been trying the “super easy, barely an inconvenience” method for over an hour and it refuses to work. I’m doing what Blaines said/did and my game isn’t glitching.
hmmm, so lets see. Make sure strength is active, try moving into the rock and hitting X to get closer to it like how i did it in the previous video. Then quickly tap R and direction on D pad simultaneously. Not slow presses. Quickly press and let go, very quick. Hope this helps

Whenever I use this method and my poketch opens, if I happen to push the boulder while the menu is open my screen goes fuzzy and my poketch closes. Idk if I’m just getting the timing wrong or what

I’m still confused by this, I did the 1.1.2 one fine by spamming R and A on Fly but even this easier version of the new one is stumping me lol. I’m using joycons in handheld mode, if that matters, don’t have pro controllers but you said it doesn’t matter.
I might be confused about what you mean by see your player move- we’re already against the Boulder, you mean attempt to walk into it? I’m not sure what to look for before pressing A on Fly. Also some other videos (in the past 12 hours) seem to be doing it in the same way as the Pokémon center door but with the boulder, ie just opening the Fly menu while pressing R and trying to push it with that open. If that’s possible, it hasn’t worked for me. Can someone help a little more with this? Thank you!

Get yourself a thing that displays the inputs on your controller, it helps a lot with helping people with the timing because "at the same time" doesn't really help sometimes
**For anyone having trouble with this glitch**
Perform the glitch as he states; "R" & left/right on the D-pad.
In the fly menu hold the direction for at least a full second. Strength doesn't fire if you quick tap it.
You've most likely triggered the glitch a few times and not held down the directional button long enough.
This is probably it. I must have done the glitch correctly many times before, but I was just tapping in the fly menu. Worked the second time when I read your comment. Thanks!

1.1.2 was easy too. The easy way to do it was press X and A twice then hit A right after and it worked. (Also not trying to be rude, but found that tip in a different kind of video)

@@reijhinru1474 well, there are a couple of glitches you can't do without moving, including the mass release method which requires you to be indoors with the menu glitch active so that you can press the Y button without the ycom activating
What a roller coaster. First I watched your video on 1.1.3 menu glitch that was a bit complicated and had guesswork and you mentioned a discord server where this was found. Then minutes later I watched MetaTheFool's video on how to do it easier, he mentions you and the discord.. Now you've got an easier method and no mentions, can't help but wonder we didn't watch the same guy.
If you're struggling with the boulder: the initial timing is relatively easy, you need to tap D-pad (don't hold it) then R as soon as you see the character starts moving. On the fly menu, to check if you got it right, make sure you HOLD the D-pad in the direction you pressed it for at least 1 second and check if you hear the sound. My mistake was that I used to just tap the D-pad on the fly menu and so I couldn't hear the boulder moving even when I got the timing right

After activating the glitch and getting in your boxes you can't hit Y to multiselect which prevents you from using the multi release method for boxes. Anything we can do about that?

I believe I found a way to make it more consistent:
When tapping the direction D-Pad and R, you want to be sure that after you press Fly, you are still holding the D-Pad direction
I've found that almost always guarantee's the glitch
Note: it is AFTER you press fly
; you can let go while on the poketch screen to select fly

Guys I have a much more effective way of doing this. Instead of standing there at 2:27, go to the rightmost wall. Then quickly use your joystick to dash towards the Boulder (don’t move it!) and press R. Hover over to the Fly option and as soon as you press A, hold your joystick to the left so the Boulder moves (if it doesn’t move you have to retry). Now you will be on the town map and press X to see the menu glitch activate! I tried this many times and it’s pretty much guaranteed to work.
Make sure that the Boulder remains at the position just like in 2:27 until you move it after you select Fly with the A button.

@@XxdarkxkiraxX There is an easier method for this. You don't actually have to see any movement. Just press R and press the D-pad after (to the direction of the boulder and it must be VERY QUICK) very quick that you feel like you're pressing R+D-pad at the same time (which is not) then continue the same process after. Try not looking at any animation because it sometimes destroy the momentum.

YOO IM ACTUALLY PROUD OF MYSELF. I was struggling last name was basically doing this. I went to the corner of the Boulder where it wouldn’t move when I walked into it and then used dpad to walk into it. I would flick the stick down and do the r and a. Worked like a charm

Do you hold the direction and R? Or just tap quickly? My character moves and I get the menu every single time but I never get the boulder sound.
It doesn't work for me. When I press R right before the boulder shift and after the character movement, the menu opens but quickly closes automatically as the boulder completes its shifting animation. I've tried pressing a to select fly in that brief window, but it does not recognize my inputs until after the menu has automatically closed itself. Any tips?
I got it. So I was not trying to shift the boulder on the map menu before.

My wife's switch gets stuck on the town map when I try to fly. I can get into the map via fly on the poketch and even hear the Boulder move, but when I click on a place to fly and then press x, the fly menu disappears and im stuck on the map. I can do it easily on my switch however. Anyone else get this?

I managed to do the harder one after training on my timing for about 25 minutes. But this one takes time to work on my joycons but easier with the controller
To those who can't still do it, here is an EASIER METHOD.
Instead of pressing R + D-pad at the same time, you can press R first then D-pad VERY QUICK that it looks like you're pressing it at the same time. THIS WORKS 100%. the whole process is still the same, except this.
It kicks me out of the poketch screen every time
@@caseymcclure1193 it kicks you out of the poketch screen then the boulder moves right? It's because you are pressing the D-pad very slow after the R button. Just like what I said, after clicking the R button you must click the D-pad very quick. Do not look or watch for any animation for it sometimes ruin your momentum. Click R and D-pad after, and don't look at the screen. haha

Thank you so much for this new tutorial. This new glitch is even easier than 1.1.2. Don’t have to deal with going in and out of Pokémon center. Just two black screens to get it working. Double tap the way you are pushing the boulder within the time your pushing R. I've had a lot of luck with that.
Do the following and you will have a successrate of 80%.
You have to watch out that the cursor on the app is on "flight"
1) press r
2) press left or right
3)press a
Do these steps quickly and it works so good

An easy way to do it, because the poketch opens upon RELEASE of R rather than on press, you can hold R then hit either right or left as you RELEASE R. That's the most consistent way I can do it now. You dont have too long of a window to hold R though because it closes the poketch after like a second or so obviously, so it's still rather quick. Thank you for the video!

I discovered something cool, when in the map, if you hit right the first time abd the boulder doesn't move, try going right several times and I don't know how but that worked

I'm not sure if I'm the only one. But after I hear the Boulder move I hit A then X but I get stuck in the x menu. not able to select fly. Then if I hit B all the way out the game is frozen on the map
To clarify, this glitch only works if you're on version 1.1.3 if your game is up-to-date you WILL NOT be able to do this glitch.

@blaines @Adam Gregg I tried popping out my bike with the glitched out menu open by trying to open a function like the map etc etc then backing out. But I did it with the bag and it just kicked me out. Maybe try a little work around with this??

After using strength (haven’t moved boulder) have fly ready to go on the poketch, all the ya gotta press now is R then left and then mash A ! Do it on 0 background music as well helps with hearing the boulder, cheers bro, hope this helps lads!
i dont get what im doing wrong, but no matter how many times I try I cant hear the bolder being pushed after I click my directional button again in the fly menu. i see my character move slightly beforehand, I hit fly then the direction I was moving in, and I hear nothing. No matter what I just cant get it
EDIT: ok I finally figured it out, but I can only do it with the analog stick. I just keep running back and forth between the two sides of the boulder hitting the direction on the stick + r at the same time over and over, and it takes me like 5 tries but I can do it now

STEP 1:
Face DOWN next to the boulder on the Left or Right after activating strength. (use the d pad to get in the grid next to the boulder)
STEP 2:
Hit right(or left) on the analog stick and R at the same time till you see your character turn to the boulder. (Pay attention to your character closely)
STEP 3:
Make the poketch mini again, because it will be enlarged after hitting R and right(or left) at the same time (do not close it completely though)
STEP 4:
Make sure your cursor is over Fly in step 3, then Hit R to open the poketch and A to open fly similar to how you spam R and A. (R first then immediately A)
STEP 5:
THEN right after the map opens, hold the stick to the right or left, and I mean HOLD IT.
Get the first 3 steps right before performing 4 and 5. And DO NOT RUSH. TAKE YOUR TIME. IT'S ALL WE GOT!
Also, DISABLE AUTO UPDATES IN YOUR SYSTEM SETTINGS
The Goal is to glitch your movement to the boulder by flicking right and R to open the poketch. Then hitting R and A to open the fly menu, THEN FINALLY, hearing the boulder move while the fly map is OPEN.
Basically, if you see the boulder move before your fly map is open, you messed up.
If you talk to the rock, you failed.
If your character won't move the rock in the menu, you did it a bit too slow (holding right or left into the boulder after the menu is open).

Everytime I get the poketch app open the game pulls me out of it when the boulder gets moved, idk if I'm doing it early or late but no matter what I do it doesn't seem to work. I'm probably just bad at doing this tho

For the people having difficulty trying to get the rock to move, this helped for me. I used to hold on to left/right analog switch. Instead try tapping it lightly just enough to move the rock. Now I can easily perform the glitch.

This glitch works perfectly for those still on 1.1.2 and you can still move afterwards. Beats doing the surf/poke center spam R and A on Fly method

when you are pressing A and X at the fly part, are you hitting A to open the fly option of yes or no, Then x, then hitting A again to confirm the fly?
Yes, you have to do a good timing so you don't get softlocked
This is amazing. Finally i understand how to to fly with the menu open. Wait a little bit like when Celestic appear on screen then press X. I kept having problems with trying to use fly while the menu was open.

What worked for me was I clicked on the d-pad once to face away from the boulder and then I clicked the button on the d-pad towards the boulder with the R button, then I was able to move the boulder.

My R button isnt registering everytime. I only got this to work twice. Its not as easy as I thought. I get the menu up while pressing right or left and it either dont work the first 15 times I try it or my R button dont register. And im doing everything right. Any suggestions?

I...I can't believe they really made the glitch easier, like I found the spam method easy on a pro controller but this is just like...a feature at this point.

Not sure if this will help, but I found it easier facing down, next to the rock and then pressing left/right and R. It’s like a simultaneous press (left/right, and once you see the character turn, press R) it’s just more wiggle room I guess you have a little bit more of a buffer to press R. Did it on the JoyCon and Pro Controller. Worked pretty well. Not sure if this was said but thought it might help. :)
So just face down (I guess up is the same) and then press R once you see movement. Then fly and press left and right. Hope this helps :)

Example: The Mass-releasing pokemons (Since it doesn't work for this new method that I know of)
Struggling with this... using joycons but when I finally get the poketch to open and boulder to move at the same time, I go to the town I want to fly to and try and time the A + X (even isync with the video) but the fly menu never comes up. I assume my timing is off but I can't seem to get it to work....

Kinda funny that in V.1.1.2 the First Glitch was with the Boulders, and now in V.1.1.3 its actually usefull.
Makes me Wonder If other useless Glitches from Before will somehow become usefull
