I would love to see what happens after these glitched speedruns, I imagine quite a few events in the game would either be missing or act strangely if you were to play though it afterward! Not to mention getting postgame stuff early!

I actually much prefer glitchless Pokemon runs. I find it interesting to see how quickly someone can beat the games within the parameters the devs set.

It's quite surprising how they managed to not only bring most if not all of the original games glitches, but also create a lot of new ones. Not a faithful remake anymore then.

Probably. It doesn't play the game for you and wouldn't really be any different then counting a metronome or staring at a digital clock to know when to change direction. Really depends on how the community decides to rule it though and some are stricter than others.
This video says "this may seem like it doesn't make sense/isn't a big deal/is complicated, but it'll make sense soon" so damn often when it's extremely obvious by context that it's necessary for a glitch. This coupled with the intro needlessly taking a full minute and a half just to say "people like to speedrun, speedrunning is beating the game quickly, we're using glitches that only work in v1.1.1" just makes the first half of the video feel like a repetitive slog, despite also containing the great technical explanations for the route
I hate the fact that they force you to update the game now if you want to just run the game on your switch. It makes it so that only people who have not updated, or that are using specific versions, can do certain types of gameplay or speedruns. Now, because it forces you to update, the speedrun category on 1.1.1 is extremely limited and only a small amount of players can do runs in this category. Everyone else cannot use the exploits from 1.1.1 till they get the HM02, wherein then can they use the menu glitch. The forced updates remove the choice from players, and that is not okay for many people.
And this is why I do not play on doing any% on anything any time soon. I suck at glitches. I am planning on raising a character in FFXIV to do a New Game+ story speedrun of Stormblood in the future.
Had to sell my Switch to help cover the cost of a surprise car repair. Worst part is that I had my game at 1.1.1. Pretty heart broken about that alone lol Had my girlfriends Switch at 1.1.2 and had to sell it too... I wish downgrading was easier lol
Welp, I had to replace my Switch and couldn't transfer the save data of my finished copy of Diamond, and I currently don't feel like playing the whole game again, so I might as well try this method instead!
The fact that you have completed the national dex before I will assume you already have the different games to do so(time from different games won't be counted) and glitches are allowed
If you have the physical cart, yes, but you'll need to factory reset your Switch (or buy a second Switch) - otherwise, even if you uninstall the game it "remembers" that it has to update it, and won't let you play until you do.
