Everyone's ears pick up on frequencies differently. What you hear from 1 headset does not mean the other person hears the same thing. With that said, your video is very detailed and informative for the way they compare to your ears. I would always recommend customers try all the headsets before settling on one.

I have both right now and I feel like the hd560s are less confortable for me with that clamping force. I have stretched them for a week on my subwoofer and still gives me headaches. Dt 990 x are smaller on the cup which is another kind of uncomfort but much more tolerable. The sound is better too, wider and clearer than the 560s. Gaming is insane on the Dt 990 x for fps.

Considering 560s is 125usd and 900 pro 250usd on sale it’s a bit difficult to compared them. I love my hd560s on balanced on my E1DA powerdac which gives me the smoothness and warm that this needs, I like it more than the tygr300r since the tygr are so dark sounding that this makes and awful impact on the dialogues while gaming. You will feel more immersed in explosions with the Dt 900 but I don’t think it’s worth over 100usd of the hd560s

Even if the 900 Pro's were twice the price l, they'd still be worth it based on comfort and build quality alone. But depends on the region I guess because in Europe the 900 Pro X's are only 60 to €70 more expensive than the 560s

I got the 560s for gaming and the first day I have my personal best game. I want to try the dt's but there was one play in particular where i know in the past i wouldn't have heard that audio queue. I've previously tried the Kiwi Orchestra Lights, the Simgot super mix's, Hyper x cloud 2's, and the Arctis Nova Pro's. I pick up more audio que's and i'm better able to pinpoint them with the 560's. Tested both for 2 weeks. Definitely DT 900 is more consistent, rounded, bodyish. For me it lacks airiness in treble. No 3-blob effect. Closed sound, wonderful bass and sub-bass. Hot for ears, heavy for my bold head.

Well the 990x actually rolls off a bit earlier than the 560s in terms of bass so no idea why you experienced the opposite. The mids are almost on part and the treble is aot more linear with the 560s instead of the 990x boosted highs which can create bad sibilance.
In terms of imaging and sound stage they are very close.

No idea, you say. Let me share one with you. The sound signature of any headset/headphones is based upon the structrue of the device (drivers, pads...etc.) and the structure of your own ears. This is why two individual audiophiles, listening to the same song on the same equipment can critique it differently - because they hear different, albeit similar, things.

I'm currently torn between both of these and I hear great things for both. My main usage would be gaming and music. My only concern regarding the PRO X is the comfort since the pads on it are round rather than oval, I'm not sure its pads would go around the whole ear like on the HD 560s.
I have an AKG with round pads and it's a real deal breaker for me because the pads press the top and bottom of my ears, causing a lot of discomfort. I wouldn't want to get the PRO X and have the same issue.

@M3G4ZZ The 900 pro x goes around my ears, and I "unfortunately" have large ears. That being said, they do touch the ears. I don't have an issue with that. Some might. I also have the AKG 702s, and I find those to be very comfortable, but I find the bass to be a bit weak. The DT 900 pro x are definitely sturdier and easier to drive with better bass, but a slightly smaller soundstage. Don't put them on high gain. They don't need it and seem to get slightly distorted if you do.

Great video, and good comparison, just not a fair one.
    Comparing a constantly on sale at $150 HD560s with a mostly $280 DT 900 Pro X.
However, DT 900 Pro X do offer better comfort, overall better sound quality, more bass extension, and greater sound stage and imaging...because it costs double.
I own both. My daily driver is the DT 900 Pro X for movies and AAA gaming, but I do use HD560s for competitive shooters because of the near perfect tuning/tonality, and super clean & precise imaging with wider sound stage for greater vertical accuracy.
For me, the HD650s is wall hack mode for FPS gaming, while the DT 900 Pro X do the same, plus better bass with higher immersion, just less accuracy for verticality.

Heard 560s and 900 pro x was like the best for gaming (if we disregard mic) but then you recommend tiger or H6PRO instead I'm like lost. I want a headset mainly for gaming and like listening to footsteps for games like CSGO/CS2 and was set on 900 Pro X but now I'm unsure. I still want music or looking at streamers or like anime to be nice but hearing things like footsteps is a higher priority as i have great speakers as is and the only other time i would use the headset would be with my laptop like lets say game at a friends place. I don't care that much about the a microphone so i don't sacrifice sound/position of like footsteps and stuff for a mic. That being said would you still recommend H6PRO/Tygr 300R over 900 pro X and if so which of them? Ik you have to "test" to see whats best for you but let's say I'm sensitive to sound and generally have lower volume than the avg person, which would you recommend off H6PRO/Tygr or if there's a better headset for 230€ or less?
I do want to add that i have scarlet 3rd gen solo (which has headset/phones slot)and a cloudlifter with Shure sm7b and DBX286s so my mic on the pc that i am on 90% of the time is superb, hence why microphone is a bit w/e.

As you know, headphones and headsets come in all shapes and sizes and features. There is no best headset, just the most suitable for you. The 560’s and 900 PRO X are not designed for gaming or streaming; they’re designed for critical listening/professional monitoring/mixing of music. As a side effect of their purpose they have excellent imaging. So these two should be considered if you plan to engage in critical listening of music and play games. The TYGR 300 is designed for gaming, and for those audio professionals who have a history with Beyerdynamics, and who want to maintain that relationship into gaming. You may find it’s sound signature more enjoyable than the 560’s and 900 PRO X, because it wasn’t designed for a high-level of audio accuracy. The H6PRO hears footsteps the best of the four, has a removable mic, volume control from the headset, and is excellently well-rounded. Just a perfect FPS gaming headset. If I were you, I would start with the H6PRO, because it ticks more boxes. If you are not satisfied with it, return it and move to the next in your list.

    Hello!
I just got the H6PROs with the GSX300, so far they are okay, the build quality is awesome, but the way they sit on my ears are a bit... awkward. My ears get under the comfortable pads in the very back of the headset, but its liveable. Another thing is that, i like bass, and when i tried to fiddle around with the EQ i cant get the sound to be bassy. It just lowers every other sound, whilst gaining almost no bass. I tried using the eq and settings in the steelseries sonar software ontop of the GSX300 and the EQ i have there and it improved a bit, but this audio doesnt match alot of reviews, including yours. Do you think i was just unlucky with either the GSX300 or the H6PRO and got a bad unit, or is the GSX300 just not strong enough to get that bassy sound? What soundcard do oyu use when you listen to your H6's? is it the GSX1000 or the schiit (i cant see what schiit version you have), and is that why you descirbe the sound and bassiness to be better than i experience? Before this i had a pair of Steelseries Arctis Pro bundled with a GameDAC and they almsot sounded better; the bass felt more satisfying, and the sound felt less... forced? electronic? The sound part may just be me and that im either not used to good headphones, or dont know how good headphones should sound. Or is it because the GameDAC is simply more powerful/better than the GSX300? If so, should i try to sell the GSX300 (maybe for a profit, it was $20 extra for the bundle but the card alone is $80.) and get another external DAC, maybe a Sound BlasterX G6? Ive heard good things of the G6 and the features seems good. Btw, many DACs praised by various reviewers are simply not available, at least not at a fair price, here in Sweden, so options like the Schiit Fulla is sadly not actually an option for me. Shipping alone would be hundreds of dollars becuase of the toll taxes and everything.
I hope this wasnt a way too long comment, tried to cut it short, but maybe i failed. Would love to hear your take and advice on this, and ofc people from the comments advice.
I really like your content, your honest and talk about whats important in your reviews, in my opinion you deserve way more subs, your videos are so informative. Good luck with your channel!

Sorry for the late reply. I’ve been in bed with a bad back for the last two weeks. Just crawling my way back into the world now. I’m sad to read you’re having issues with your new purchases. You have some specific questions, which I can’t answer, because I’m not there. Perhaps you do have a bad DAC or headphones, or something - I don’t know. Maybe you’re no good at configuring EQ - I dont’t know. Maybe (like you said) you don’t know good sound from bad sound - I don’t know. I wish I was there, because I could tell you in 10-secs if it’s not sounding right. The truth is: sound is subjective. So perhaps the sound signature is not pleasing to you. So many people love the H6PRO, including myself, but there are some who don’t like it at all. EPOS has EQ software for its wireless gaming headsets. They don’t effect the wired headsets. Remove the gsx300 and test the sound plugging your H6PRO directly into your motherboard. No sonar. That’s what I do, and it sounds great. I also use it with the GSX1000 and the Schiit Hel 2, and it still sounds great - even though the Hel 2 makes the sound brighter, and the gsx make the sounder darker. The H6PRO is 28 ohms I believe, so it doesn’t require an amp. Here’s my advice: try different configurations and if you’re still not happy return it. The important thing is that you’re happy. Don’t waste another second on a headset that doesn’t meet your expectations. Good luck, friend.

@@District.24 No worries! I hope you feel better soon. I dont think the problem is that im bad at configuring the EQ, im not saying im very good at it, but I know the basics, and I have played around with EQ's for a long time. I tried connecting the headphones directly to the motherboard, once without using the GSX300 and sonar, and once only using sonar, and I definetly prefer the sound when im using sonar and the headphones plugged directly into the motherboard. Either I got a bad example of the DAC, or its just shit lol. Or, I just dont like the sound of it. Now the bass response and frequencies feels alot more natural and better sounding, closer to what the steelseries sounded like, even better than what they sounded like tbh. The GSX300 made almost every other frequency lower when there was any bass present, and I have no idea why. Maybe its just not a very good/powerful DAC, or, as I just said, I just dont like the way the people over at EPOS have tuned it. I think im going to return the headset + DAC and just get the headset alone to save myself $20. Without your comment I definetly wouldn't have tried the headphones directly connected to the motherboard, and I would never have noticed that the thing I dont like is the DAC, and I am really grateful that you responded! I honestly believe your dedication and hard work should be appreciated more than it is, you definetly match, and in many cases beat, larger channels in the way you describe and review head-phones/sets, and definetly in the way you help your viewers. And im talking about big channels, 100k++ subs, you should really get the attention you deserve. Btw, I also mentioned that the fit of the headset was weird, I kind of got over it, I just gotta adjust them every now and then, but its probably a good thing, more than once when I have taken my headphones off to adjust them I have realized that I should maybe take a break from playing games or watching movies ;)
I really, really hope that your channel gets the attention it deserves. And again, thank you for helping me, and so many others, with their sound! I hope your back gets good soon :)

Been looking at these to use for a mix of PC and console gaming. Leaning towards buying the DT 900 PRO X.
Also Ohms don't matter for needing an amp or not. It is all about the sensitivity for how easy a headphone is to drive. The DT 900 PRO X should be easier to drive because it's sensitivity is 114 dB SPL @ 1V versus 110dB for the HD 560S. But both are very easy to drive and don't require an amp. You can run them from a controller or a phone.

    • @District.24
      @District.24  ปีที่แล้ว +3

Your information is incorrect. Firstly, the DT 900 PRO X is 100 dB not 114. Secondly, ohms do matter. When the resistance is high, the headphone will still work, but won’t perform at its best. You need an amp to drive it to optimal performance levels. Lastly, sensitivity below 100 dB tends to result in a lower volume level, while sensitivity above 110 dB can be very loud for some.
