    Another enjoyable Techne review 🥰👍. As an owner of the DT990’s I do agree some highs come across almost “screechy” and in some songs a bit too full on. I was wondering if you’ve considered with your reviews, charting /grouping comparisons as you often mention in your videos, like this one about headphones for things such as comfort, sound, mic quality etc so us viewers have an ongoing updated reference guide when we don’t get to experience the vast majority of peripherals you get to review to compare to and maybe a scoring system for each attribute? Just a suggestion. Awesome work Techne and glad to see some positive energy in the gaming industry when consoles and gpus are scarce as hens teeth 😉🤩👍🥳

    The circular foam pads over the driver are there to reduce and tame the MURDEROUS SCREECHING BEYER TREBLE, main reason many steared clear of Beyers. These foam pads made their debut with the Tygr 300R and is the main reason I got the TYGR 300R over the DT 1990 Pro as I am sensitive to highs and bright headphones. Finally I can like beyer sound signature now that they solve the harsh treble. But I think the 900 Pro X is still brighter than the Tygr 300R, which is a warmer headphone. Tygrs cost 180$ if bough directly from beyerdynamic website.

    Looks like I'm replacing my failing PC38x with the DT700 Pro X and a Schiit Hel 2.
    Enjoyed my PC38x but as my first open back, I realized I came to miss the isolation of closed back. Was going looking into DT770 Pro and saw these on the Beyer website. After watching this and Badseed Tech's review, decision is made. Thank you

     @The Techne I got in dac\amp\audiophile headsets world because of your tech rewievs and I really enjoying your work. So I decide to get in my first set up which will be a zen stack according your recommendation but I kinda dont know which headset will be fit for me. I have a blackshark v2 pro as a gaming headset and I love it so I will keep it beside of the new one. So what can you reccommend to me? I play a hell lot with tarkov and sometimes with storry driven games. I actually preffer more closed ones but if you recommend some open ones for the purpose then I'll take that. Thank you mate.

  • @ChristyOFaghan
    @ChristyOFaghan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    i've had 770's in both the 80 and 250 ohm configuration, and still love them
    i'll agree that there's maybe a little bit of pressure on one's face, but i find that only adds to the noise isolation of the closed-back cups, blocking out pretty much everything in the outside world
    as to the highs/trebles being a little bit too 'screechy' -- i really enjoy that level of detail and think they're perfect for both music and gaming, but that's likely a matter of taste, and some people may not enjoy that fidelity
    i do have to agree wholeheartedly with Techne on them needing a DAC/Amp to get the most out of them -- especially the 250 ohm -- but even a cheap portable DAC will do wonders for their performance

      Worth to upgrade from 770 pro 80ohm?

    • @ChristyOFaghan
      @ChristyOFaghan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@adamescape9996 not really, the 250Ohm's are more of a lateral move rather than an upgrade, only giving a more aggressive bass and a few other slight improvements if you're driving them with enough power
      i got them because i ripped the cable out of my 80Ohms by mistake, and not having a soldering iron, thought i'd experiment
      [edit] i forgot to mention, some people have complained about that more aggressive bass, preferring the 80Ohms for their more natural/neutral presentation

I love them. I have the M50x as well but i gave them to my mom because i did not use them that much I used to watch movies with them but now I dont watch no more movies and for music i prefer 770s.

    The DT 700 Pro X looks awesome. But I'm used to my old Sennheiser PC350se and its lack of classic Sennheiser bass which makes it very comfortable in video games.
    I tested the Meze 99 Classic which has a very flat graph. And I hated it. It makes the sound of games like Valorant, CS2 or Overwatch super graceful, it no longer sounds like anything.

But I think the 900 Pro X is still brighter than the Tygr 300R, which is a warmer, fun headphone, also easier to drive at just 32 ohm. Tygr 300R cost 180$ if bough directly from beyerdynamic website, no stupid bundle with the FOX mic so better value gaming wise vs 300$ for the Pro X.
