  • This part will show you how to create your Lovelace interface with a great looking 3D floor plan. We'll build on Part 2 and make a button allowing you to select the floor, the background and all of the entities will change! We'll also add in presence detection with some custom avatars.
    In the next part of this video we'll customise the floor plan even more with movement sensors, CCTV Feeds and lots more!

    I can't tell you how much this channel rocks. Hubitat user here, making the painful switch over, this channel making it almost bearable.

    just want to let you know that you can do that select multiple lines and add in tabs with the HA editor by selecting them and press tab on your keyboard. And to reduce tabs, you can press Shift+tab on your keyboard. You don't need notepad+ for that 😁
    Good tutorial so far, I'm doing mine right now 😁

    Thank you for these videos. I have built quite the layout thanks to you. I would like to make an icon to turn a light on and have a slider to adjust the brightness. This would be done through a esp8266 pwm to a mosfet board. It registers up as a light. Thanks

    Excellent video, at last I can get to understand HA by example. What a learning curve. Just one problem I am having (ha... just the one!!!) in this video lines 1 to 15, when I put them into the Plan editor, the code shows up on the screen over the plan rather than show a button. Even when I cut and past your code, it does exactly the same! Impossible question, but is there something obvious I am not doing ?

    Great guide thanks. I suggest you to add on your website the configuration.yaml lines about select_floorplan instructions needed for this part of the guide. I refer to the lines of codes you comment at 2:13

    When you are editing your configuration, there is a live mini-view at the top right. I don't see it on my system. Is there an option to enable it?

    Hi. i have 9 zones to show, if i use "service: input_select.select_next" i will have to go through all zones.
    how do I go to zone 3 or 4 directly without having to go through other zones?

    Hi Simon,
    Congratulations on your tutorials!
    I wanted to ask you if you have any idea how I could insert a weather card under the avatars ...
    If you give me a way to send you files, I will show you what I have done and what I would like to do!
    Thank you

      This would be very interesting.. . At the moment the only weather elements I have been able to add on a picture element are state-icon and state-label.

      Hi, I’ve had a play with this a while ago, there is nothing native within HA that does it. You need to add in a custom card. I generally try and avoid customisations as they often break in future updates or eventually get written into the main release.

    Enjoying your vids, cheers. I don't follow "I changed this using developer tools, selecting the input_select and entering a new value'. I have gone to developer tools and cant find what you mean? Do I need to set up a entity for this? As when I press button to change floor nothing happens. If so how? Could you explain please? Thanks

    • @HomeSight
      @HomeSight  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Roman, if you go into developer tools and choose the entity, you can enter a new value in the box and press send; this updates the value for what ever entity you have. You will have to have the input select entity setup first though.

    👍, but where can I find the config files with the editor, are the not storred as usual in the config folder?

    • @HomeSight
      @HomeSight  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Roger, you can’t edit the files in quite the same way, you are better off using the user interface. Go to the top right edit dashboard, then edit at the bottom left.

    • @RogerStocker
      @RogerStocker 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HomeSight OK, I just thought it would be better to check config before using it, as I'm not yet very experienced, with this .YAML Thanks for fast reply, was amazing.

    • @HomeSight
      @HomeSight  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, no “check config” available unfortunately, although, it also won’t break the whole instance!

    • @HomeSight

      It does to a point, yes. It certainly auto completes the entity IDs etc.
