Subscribed jsut because of the head. I watch lots of instructional/educational vids across all topics in TH-cam and this is the only one with a talking severed head. Perfection.

This is very helpful to a beginner like me! It's simple & straight to the point! Hopefully I can easily follow this once I start to actually use the software already. Thank you for this!

In .au an old outdoor toilet (pretty rare these days) is called a thunderbox, still used for indoor WC (water closet) but these days :)

If you create walls first, double clicking when creating rooms will make the entire walled in area a room. Time saving tip.

is it possible to add distance/width measurements and angle measurements to the 3D view? I have not found such a feature.

  • @johnsonguitarsongtutorials4887

Hi good video, only problem is when drawing a house plan there are many measurements involved. Drawing outer walls no problem. Then coming to the inner walls where thickness already differs. Show your viewers where to change thickness of inner walls. Also the various measurements of the rooms, how to measure say a 250 cm size from the outer wall or a 100cm for passage, or a 300cm from opposite side. Ie how to measure the width to start an interior wall. I e tried the poly line way as a construction line or even the dimension way. Is there an X Y way to use. Please help. Thanks anyway.

Hey DrZzs, great vids, big fan...
Do you advise using Sweethome 3D or inkscape? i saw both vids and went with sweethome(since its pretty easy), but then realized that there is no vid from you on the next step integrating the floorplan from sweethome with Hass.
Could you kindly do one please or advise what needs to be done to have it integrated with objects like you did with inkscape.
    Thank you

Yes. There is an “import background” option. I should have included that.

not sure why that would be. I can't remember what other options there are for improving the resolution. What size are the photos in pixels?
      Not 1080?
