Hey Matthew another great video. Can you explain to me how these plant light companies can make a light that covers a 3 x 3 tent(or larger), puts out more par from a higher distance, and can do it for $300? Are blue LED diodes that much more expensive that justifies such a small light at a high price? Not this brand specifically but all of them seem to be so expensive for the coverage you get?

This particular hobby has gotten out of control. It isn't a matter of cost to manufacture products, it's a matter of companies inflating prices to outrageous levels for insane profit margins.

@@DavidTaghehchian I think you’re right about that 100%. It seems to me someone could manufacture a 4 or 5 ft bar style light with even more diodes for a reasonable price. I don’t know anyone but the ultra rich can afford to put 4 radions over their tanks. @acinfinity you should get into the reefing hobby.

@@ekoed I bet mounting 4 or 5 channels of Leads (uv, blue, white, etc.) to an aluminum plate with simple potentiometers for each channel would work fantastic and be super economic. Add a plastic diffuser over the top for even spread and a power supply. Job done.

How do you guys like these lights? I've had 4 of the 52w since the day they came out. Got decent coral growth. Recently added 2 of the 95w to the 52w lights to our 125 gallon and it seems wonderful. Love the lights, not such a fan of their pumps though

All these other reef light manufactures need to follow Current USA's example of using t-slot aluminum as a standard for light mounts. Other makers literally charge 10X more for a hanging fixture when a 80/20 frame will do the same for a tiny fraction of the price. Pure rip off. Current USA is really a reef company for the people.

Yes, having a universal mounting method would be amazing!
