As a fan of the Gelgoog Jäger (and because u wanted a nice commander unit for my Zeon Mobile Suit Skirmish squad), I decided to pick up the Robot Spirits Ver ANIME figure. It’s expensive for what it is, considering it doesn’t even come with a beam saber, but holy crap the articulation is amazing. It also showed me that the beam machine gun/sniper rifle has a telescoping stock, something I never knew until I got it.
originally according to lore the gelgoog was just a prototype for the next generation of high mobility zaku's with the capability to use beam weaponry, they got the name gelgoog short after the production but before that it was just a zaku high mobility test type made with beam weapons in mind which got every Zeon mobile suit and armor company like Zimmad, Mip, and zeonic corporations to work together in creating this masterpiece, so technically the gelgoog is just a new model zaku and its supposed to be since its not exactly too dissimilar its made with the same material and is made for mass production as the next generation zeon mobile suit which came late in the war only difference is it has the performance of a high mobility zaku and the capability to use beam weaponry something zeon definitely needed especially against the federation general machines or the GM's which some had similar armor rating to the Gundam or even just the shields are made of luna titanium which makes sense why it sees service into the late UC90's because much like the GM it has weapons that stay relevant no matter the era and it has infinite possibilities when it comes to customization and modification much like the GM.
I think the Gelgoog Jager is red is due to the fact that War in the Pocket's designs were suppose to be the Ver.Ka version of those original mobile suits, before Bandai introduced the idea of the United Maintenance Plan to keep them separate suits. Then whoever was animating War in the Pocket didn't get the memo that the more iconic red Gelgoog was suppose to be Char's unique paint job and not just what they painted commander suits. In their defense, people still think red is associated with commanders due to you very rarely seeing even Green Zakus with the commander's antenna. Another thing most people forget is that the Black and Purple scheme of the Dom was originally the custom colors of the Black Tri-Stars, but then they just became the colors of all Doms, even across the multiverse with stuff like the DOM Trooper.
I gotta build Char's Gelgoog at some point. Been meaning to build all his suits in at least HG but I've gotten lazy and haven't bothered getting this and a few others yet.
The only one of these I have is the Gelgoog Marine, which is still my favorite Gelgoog Design. I wish it stayed together better. I had the ball joint on his hip break off and split in two. I had to glue in a spare SD Gundam ball joint to put the leg back together. I hope it gets a 2.0 someday
They haven't reprinted that one in a while! When they do I hope they reprint the dark bluey Unicorn version, don't think I'd be interested in a red one like Johnny's but with big ol' shoulders. lol
speaking of gundam, are you planning to get the gundam military generation char aznable figure? if you dont know the line its basically a line of 1/18 figures of characters from gundam (not mobile suits as you can assume from the scale) just seems up your ally with your love for char ,gundam and action figures that scale
Yes! I've actually got it coming in from HLJ right now! It'll take a bit to arrive but I might make a vid on it. If I like it I'll buy more, but if not I'll consider it a nice little one-off figure.
@@Jcc2224 oh cool, I'd love seeing a video on it, although I already have it, I'm not too sure about getting more( expenses to be considered) but I do have my eyes on the ramba ral and hamon
The gundam franchise owner only care about manufacturing toys to sell so the creator named the character,MS with a goofy name and somehow got accepted because they couldn't care less
Ah yes, beam naginata....the twin-blade beam saber grandaddy before Darth Maul made it popular in the US. Gundam fans already enjoyed beam naginata decades before The Phantom Menace.
If you want an Optimus that scales with 1/144 it'll be so tiny it'll hardly be worth it man. Best bet would be a figurine of Optimus from the dollar store and even then it won't transform or pose. Zeph mentions Deluxe, those are way too big. Legends Class would be kinda close but still twice as big as it should be.
Well hey, it could be worse: you have the HGUC Z’gok E, a kit so infamously shit that it’s actually inferior to the original 1/144 kit from 1988… Don’t get me wrong, pretty much all of the 1988 War in the Pocket 1/144s are pretty damn good for the time (arguably on par with early HGUCs) but damn does the original Z’Gok E blow the HGUC out of the water.
I’ve had a weird obsession with gelgoogs recently so this video has great timing.
I am a huge Gelgoog fan, so this video speaks to me on a personal level.

I agree. Gelgoog is one of my favorite zeon mobile suits, always thought it looked like a zaku 1 on steroids.

Pls make a gundam playlist! (Everyone who agrees 👇)

You should do a top 10 favorite Gundam video (just in case of confusion, Gundam specific, like wing zero, unicorn, Alex, Rx-78, etc.)
Also new Gundam video, hype

Have you gotten the regelgu yet? I’ve had my eye on it I like the shoulder binders

Which one is better? HG Char's Gelgoog or Robot Spirits Gelgoog?
Make a video about goufs plz

Hey jcc2224 do you know of a good G1 style Optimus prime that scales with the 1/144 gundams that can aquired for a reasonable price like about 20$
I would just look up old deluxe class primes on eBay

@@Jcc2224 ok thanks anyway I will see what I can find or make
Is the "undersuit" the MS frame
Cool dude!
JC, how come there's no *HG Regelgu* in your Gelgoog review? Don't you have it?
I don't have it no. I'd love to get one someday but it being an older Pbandai makes that difficult! I'd love the Unicorn version specifically!
@@Jcc2224 But the Unicorn version got one-shot-ed 😆. Are you sure you don't wanna pick up the ZZ version? It was piloted by a hot chick 😏.

Nah Cima's Gelgoog is worse IMO. Z'Gok E isn't great, bottom 5 kits in my collection for sure, but Cima's Gelgoog beats it in many regards.
Heh he said gelgoog
