- Decided to leave the cold PNW for a warmer climate. Visiting Oahu after 25 years reconnecting with old friends and doing some first time shore fishing.

Happy to see you back!
Looking forward to seeing more adventures!
Let's go get some Dungeness when things thaw out here.
i like the idea.
Nice
Aloha. Lived in Hawaii almost twenty years. Mostly Lanai. Whipping is pretty much just walking the beach/coast tossing artificials. Nothing better than a strike on a pili lure. Used tohei for papio and ulua, but usually got sharks. Night dive for lobster. Good times. Hated Honolulu, just seemed like a mainland city.
Yes totally agree about Honolulu. That's why it's been over 25 years since going back. I just missed all my friends who live on Oahu. Good reunion for sure. Usually, visit Kauai and Big Island although have visited Maui as well. The tohei was cool to see and the guys did say that it's really good bait dunking for ulua. The slipper lobster was crazy to see and a friend did catch a mud crab/samoan crab same evening. Appreciate the comments. 🤙🏽🤙🏽
@@BackFishing Aloha. Enjoy your reunion and the weather!
Nice! We’re in the middle of a massive Ice Storm. Wish I could be fishing.
Aloha Hale- I always thought you were from Hawaii. I grew up on Kauai, check out WWJ when you have a moment. We’re supposed to go for some dungeness first week of Feb in Tillamook bay. Will be running snares off the shore/jetty. Tight lines!
Howzit Chris? I visited Kauai a while back maybe 4 years now and have seen some of your videos. Good stuff. Let me know when you go and I can come join you guys for the fun. I know you come up to the PNW. Just email me. 🤙🏽🤙🏽
@@BackFishing thats actually my dad. But hes up in the PNW now. Sounds like a plan! I’ll have him send you a message so we can get together!
@@steinyota808 Mahalos Chris. Look forward to it.
Very nice , I will be going back to Oa ' hu this July for 6 days to see my Ohana. I moved because of the cost of living and the taxes that Hawaii has. Kailua is my place were I grew up and Waimanalo
Took the longer way up to North Shore. Kailua is a beautiful area away from the hustle of Honululu. Sandy beach, Lanikai beach, Bellows AFB, Kalama all considered country. Such a chill place with lots of great fishing from shore.
Totally agree about the cost of living. Sky rocket prices especially on food. I spoke with several 70 year old servers at the hotel. They have to continue to work to supplement necessities. Lucky for some of them they have paid home mortgages. One thing I noticed is... they always had the aloha spirit with a great big smile.
@BackFishing I sold everything in Hawaii and moved to Ohio 2017 bought a ranch home all red brick with pool on fence in yard with AC and heating and complet basement for 160k
@@BackFishing that's the best move I made in my life. Dept free and enjoying my retirement pension
@@gilbertahsam643 2017 wasn't too long ago. I am very happy for you. Enjoy your vacation in July. 🤙🏽🤙🏽

Thank you @@BackFishing! I couldn't help but notice how nice the camera quality and audio was.
stinkiest fish in all the ocean
(conger)
Maybe that's why they release it. LOL
@@BackFishing And that isnt the type of eel they use for unagi in Japan as someone in the vid said.
I didn't care for this fish when I tried it.....wasnt what I expected. And did I mention that smell? LOL
I think they use this for Ulua bait too.
