When my wife and I were in Japan last year, we visited the shopping area below Tokyo Station. My wife insisted on buying a Hello Kitty Shinkansen ekiben, even though we weren't travelling outside Tokyo. She still has the box...

Being considerate of others is something I wish we had in my country. You ride the train here and someone will be having a screaming match over the phone, someone else will be crinkling plastic the whole time, etc. etc.. No one stops to think they should try to be quieter so as not to disturb others. And no one cleans up after themselves. Don't leave your trash for someone else to deal with.

@Velvet Thunder i think mask wearing is common in most asian countries since covid19 started. Based on my observation America and some european countries some people refuse to use mask to reduce the spread of the pandemic because using a face mask has been politicized. To be fair though even various asian countries we do have our own bunch of nuts ( but luckily a small number) who refuse to use the face mask, do social distancing etc because they think the virus is fake. Wouldnt it be nice if we can gather all the anti maskers on one side of the globe and all the sensible people on the other?? It would be an interesting experiment to see how fast covid19 virus would spread amongst those who refuse to believe in the virus & refuse to wear a surgical mask/ do social distancing etc.

I am excited, I live in Texas, and I heard that they are proposing a bullet train system that will link major cities in this state together! Though I doubt that the food offered will be as delicious as the bentos that Japanese bullet trains have. :)

I doubt that will ever happen considering that the republicans refuse to pass infrastructure budget . Asia is so far ahead in fact in technology advancement especially in the area of transportation, also the EU. The Philippines for example finished its transportation and highways development within 3 years of Duterte taking office , making way for HIGH-SPEED trains. It is decades behind Singapore but fast catching up . America ? Maybe 2200.
Now ,😋about the Ikiben bentos , we can only droll watching YT . Thank the powers that be . Now we know the grass is greener on the other side truly🤔

    F A N T A S T I C 😃 !
I remember buying a bento on an overnight train to Hokkaido from Tokyo, it contained white rice, some vegetables and other stuff, but what blew me up was the two pieces of fish that was so tasty somewhat soft, salty and sweet that you can eat everything including the head and the bones, that was delicious ❤️ !

Excellent beautiful Japanese tiffin box concepts, excellent looking railway station. Videos with full sights and sounds of Shinkansen and Japan, very nice clean shops, good profuse ubiquitous vending machines thoughtfully everywhere, nice instructions for use on everything.
