  • I stayed in the first class cabin of First Cabin, a capsule hotel with an airplane motif.
It was so spacious that it could no longer be called a hotel, and I was very satisfied with my stay. I would like to stay in the business class cabin next time.
    Price: 6,000JPY
    Name: First Cabin Ichigaya
    Room: First Class Cabin
Location: 1 minute walk from Ichigaya station
Comment: It was so spacious that it was like a hotel.

Stayed here for a week or so in June 2023 (exploring Tokyo and surrounds before meeting up with friends). Clean, well maintained, good bath, supermarket 20m away for any necessities, 10-15 min walk to Kagurazaka (cool neighbourhood with good bars and restraunts ).

There are several TH-cam channels similar to this one with travel across Japan. But this one is very soothing and goes the extra mile to really immerse you in the experience. Even though this channel is relatively new, I suspect in a year or less it’ll have quite a few more subscribers. 👍🏻

I love it. Used First Cabin twice. Firsr the normal one, another the business one. My favourite parts are the hot water bath and the space. It cause me not to waste time in the room and get out into the streets to roam. Normal hotel rooms I'll spend too much time in it. The business one has a big locker drawer beneath the bed for a lot of storage and a table! The shared space for work lets me the feel of working overseas.

I stayed at First Cabin at Haneda A/P in Feb '23. Was very nice. Rooms are exactly as shown in this video. My only complaint is the Business Class rooms have no room for any luggage larger than a briefcase or messenger bag. Yes, there are lockers for smallish carryon bags and a storage for larger but if one discovers they need something they have to go through several steps to retrieve what they need! But I found the First Cabin to be very accommodating and it is very close to a Lawson in Terminal one, as well as many other shops and restaurants in that terminal. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a resort, but it is pretty posh for a budget accommodation!

Can you imagine the men’s section? I quit staying at Hosel’s almost immediately. Dueling snoring like a scene out of the movie Deliverance, with Burt Reynolds. The snoring combatants would get louder, and louder until they woke each other up. I can only imagine.. Hotel’s in the USA left Mt desiring the cab of my Toyota Tacoma. The temperature was perfect, as I let my vehicle run. And I stayed at rest stops, none of that stealth camping BS. That has absolutely zero appeal. Except the cleanliness, and the food you would find in Japan.

Everything looks perfect, sanitized, glossy, high tech, and the food appealing! And yet, after watching several of these videos, I always get a strong sense of loneliness and isolation! I mean, to begin with, the guide does not say a word or shows his face. He really takes his time to inspect everything and he never talks to anyone! To add to the isolation, almost everything seems to be self-service or automated to the point that there's no human interaction! The country, the infrastructure, the services, the food, and the civil behaviour sound like paradise! However, I've also read many articles about how lonely and under pressure Japanese people are to meet social and professional demands to the point that the country's suicide rates are some of the highest in the world! Also, seniors die alone! Now, for foreigners there are many more pressures like the formidable language barrier to live and work! So, this video kind of reaffirms the cons to living in Japan! Thus, I'd love to visit Japan and spend some time there, but I rather stay home! Sorry guys!

That looks very uncomfortable to me honestly. For the kind of intended accommodation, I would be fine with the most basic bed or cot and nothing else. I'd only be sleeping the entire time. When away from home having to occupy a strange room where much of my time will be spent when not at work, I'd like to be able to watch TV or whatever else might make some amount of noise without feeling like I'm polluting an otherwise extremely quiet stay for everyone else. I imagine people in there slowly and carefully moving attempting to avoid making noise etc.

Depending on the day, you can find it cheaper than $165 on the official website!

Good video however these ferry/hotel/train/plane Japanese videos all look alike.

Love the concept but not being able to lock the door, is a big no
I’m not worried about the Japanese so much as a knife wielding Australian backpacking next door
