- My wife grew this really long hair, she hadn't had it cut in about 3 years, I guess because of the lockdowns etc... So we decided to sell it using the website Hairsellon.com. Here is how the process went, we hope this will be interesting to those wanting to sell their hair or just someone intrigued about this interesting side hustle.

Super video - very helpful for others looking to sell their hair and thanks for using HairSellon :) It's important to remember the preparation when cutting the hair and have it tied at both ends with a hairband like in the video. The new haircut looks great, and the cut hair will go to a great cause and help those in need :)

I do this every 2 years or so. I always get a few hundred dollars and I spend it on new winter wear for my kids. I don't NEED to do it anymore financially, but my hair grows really fast and thick so why not? It's literally throwing money away if I don't.

Its super interesting to me i'm a boy but i kidna fell in love with that hair market lol. I helped a friend alredy to sell her ponytail online for much better price than she would get in a barbershop and that was such a cool expernience

Wife is not Chinese as I recall
So there is kind of a back story behind the "weird Chinese measurement", I once used that tape measure to measure my head for a ski helmet that my friend was going to buy for me, he kept coming back to me saying "how can your head be that small? Its smaller than the smallest helmet." So then I asked my wife and she told me those weren't inches, but a Chinese measurement, so its not like just making a random joke, there is a running joke about that between us.
It's literally called a Chinese inch that's pretty weird

No amount of money can compensate for a loss of beauty.
To me, this feels like you would sell or do anything to make a quick buck, not a real way to do business.
You would even sell the dignity of your wife. Hair in traditional culture, especially in Chinese culture, was seen as something personal and important to one’s dignity.
Money is important but there are more important things than money, in my opinion.
It’s better to have peace of mind than to gain more.
She sold it, not me. Her idea, I just made the video. Also you don’t know where the hair is going, it could be making a wig for someone who has just got through leukemia or something. Which is a good deed.
