I opened my salon when I was 21 back in 2000
And it cost 💲 me $15,000
And I had monthly rent of $800
As you explained cost of keeping a salon space is very helpful for other stylist looking to expand !!!

Having a suite was a lot of fun but I ran out of space really quickly.. and it became hard to grow (no space for other stylist or assistant) definitely consider your options! Wish you the absolute best in your career♥️ feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

I’m curious about taxes and licensing through the state and insurance etc. I wonder if there are hair salon owner consultants that help with reminding new salon owners of all the possibilities. Haha. I want to open a salon but don’t know where to start on that admin stuff.
My question was about supplies ..the cost and how to go about purchasing product. Color/ perm supplies/ lightener / shampoos conditioner/ hair treatments basically all salon supplies

Wow $1900 for rent is so cheap compared to renting a space that size in NYC. Im a hairstylist in Nyc and rent for a space like yours would be 10k a month. Good for you in your success!!
Thank you so much! Yes my biggest priorities was trying to get an afford rent so I could be able to afford it on my own! 10k salon rent it crazy expensive! Hopefully you can find something more affordable 🤍
