In India people take science degree only for job, not for understanding of beauty of science
sure, but lets not be harsh on them. In a country where people are struggling to make ends meet such taking a good job for a comfortable life is the top priority. Once a large mass of people will acheive certain privileges of comfort such ideas will develop.

I think it's because in India bureaucrats i.e. generalists have been running the show. Now slowly and steadily technocrats are taking over
i am so fascinated by Physics I get astounded whenever i think of equations and laws and applies on the level of nature, how beautifully these formulas explain happenings around us. i can literally feel it the beauty.

Good to see you Sanjay Bhai after a long time. To me: Science is objective truth. Any culture is a subjective interpretation of truth.
This subjectivity, typically, is limited to the worldview, experiences and perceptiveness of the people practising a so called culture.
For example, science is like a set of musical notes and culture is akin to a musical instrument. And definitely, not all instruments are capable of delineating all notes in a complex musical piece. Cultures of this world are yet to evolve to possess the finesse to understand that the basic unbiased purity integral to science is the only unifying truth for the universe. 🙏
"Unifying truth for the universe" is a bit of an extension of epistemological method .
Science is a continuum where objectivity improves each day. Subjectivity persists in science too but gets minimised as we advance in each field. However, society as a whole takes much longer to update itself but it will have to eventually as there is no other choice. The speed matters though for an individual's life time is limited.
We are perhaps talking about the same thing here ! I am referring to science in my statement as a 'noun' while you are viewing it as a 'verb', as a process. And it will be a process till our minds are encapsulated in 'duality' the 'dwait'. Fundamentally, the human mind is 'free' and 'enslaved' at the same time. I had discussion with someone who is hardcore supporter for science and technology..and discussion was about installing ai signs and descriptions in a historical site ....my stand was people are already submerged in selfies more than the buildings or historical ruins in front of them and now we are adding another technology in that space...in middle of discussion he said why are u so afraid of technology...i am not against science or technology but the kind of technology now being introduced in our world ...people who are investigating in the research so that the scientists can go on with their research are mostly from 1 % of world....they are interested only in making money...so technology now being invented or designed is focused on earing money ...these kinds of technology doesn't have enough research about possible negative impacts it would bring with it because that 1% of our population doesn't give a shit...and everything has has positive or negative or grey sides...but now technology is being introduced with the problem- solving and money earning mechanisms but doesn't tell that this could have these negative impacts also...and now in this crucial time we are living we really need to study in detail about negative impacts of any technology a lot before introducing any technology to sustain..maybe i could be wrong about this....but right now this is my understanding...

I think the reson of non-scientfic temperament in highly educated people in India is our upbringing.
I totally agree with dr sahab that we taught so boringly science in schools,books of science in schools are not written responsibily they are not written for to teach something they are written for to pass the exams but the most important thing we as a society are highly religious,in every day life we are doing some irrational rituals because of religious beliefs.we as a society is not a democratic,not a rich,so free thinking also not existed in our society
And now from 10 years this new government which is anti intellectual anti science,they are promoting irrationality, illogical things so science is now a villain for people..

I come across many people on daily basis, who had taken science as a subject to become a professor somewhere or working in MNC but they are not even using common sense in simple little things. unscientific community is actually helped by these kind of people who had taken science as career option rather then actually bealiving on it. It's because of these people the most unscientific peoples are using scientific means as a tool to propogate their Unscientific ideas.

समाज के एक बेहद छोटे और आर्थिक रूप से मजबूत वर्ग को ही यह सुविधा उपलब्ध है... बाकी वर्ग को इस विषय में जागृत करने वालों की भी संख्या बहुत कम है... रही बात जनप्रतिनिधियों की...
तो अफसोस की बात है कि यह करना हमारे देश प्रबंधकों की ना तो प्राथमिकता लगता है... और ना ही यह लगता है कि सत्ता की राजनीति साधने वालों के मन में शिक्षा सुधार का विचार भी आता होगा...

ancestors ne jitna seekha woh unke saath rha, science gives us new things everyday. WE have to make our lazy minds work and update ourselves otherwise we suffer more. Just like we update our phones, otherwise try communicating with pigeons. we do give up our traditions eventually, we have done that a lot too. so keep up with science is the key.
