Karva Chauth mainly originates from Rajasthan /North India. Men often had to go on wars and fight to protect their kingdom. Women use to pray and keep fasts for their safety.

@@manjusingh8961 Yes! It was a regional ritual, where alot of men goes for war. It originates from North West India & when they migrated after 47, they dominated bollywood & still represent mostly punjabi culture.
Karwachowth is a tradition in North India , As a south Indian we don't have such tradition.....but the burqa system among Muslims is prevalent here ...i feel bad for Muslim girls or women wearing such outfits in such a humid climate ...it can be dangerous sometimes.....by the way I am from Kerala....
The caste topic in urban India, I feel, is certainly over-emphasized by the likes of Sanjay.
I'm someone who comes from an OBC (Backward Caste) category, but I only came to know about that at the age of 19 when I heard one of my distant relatives was approaching the Tehsildar for getting the OBC certificate for his university admission.
Throughout my childhood, I have seen days when my family didn't know how to manage ration after 2 days, yet I took the opportunities available to me (interest-free education loan for under-privileged students) and got into an elite engineering university based on merit.
I now work in an IT MNC and don't even realize like ever before, that I belong to a backward caste.
Freedom of Expression should be given to all. Abolish Blasphemy Law. There should be no Blasphemy law in any Islamic country.

Shezad, In our Indian school textbooks, the focus has always been on promoting unity and understanding among different castes and never get taught hatred against Pakistan. When we learn about the partition, it's often portrayed as a result of British involvement, rather than vilifying any individual like Jinnah. Our education system continues to emphasize harmony, and never paints Pakistan as an enemy. But on the other hand some of our media is loose case.
SHEHZAD wanted to know if hatred towards Muslims is taught in Indian books. Frankly I had to learn that such shit can be put in textbooks only recently after listening to pakistani podcasts. Shehzad can download NCERT books if he is serious to find out. Kids curriculum in India is basically fun. Nothing serious politically or religious is even hinted at. But doubt if Pakistanis want to even accept such goodness/simplicity can even exist in india! in the 80s when i was near 10 years old, all i remember is "hum panchi ek daal ke" - asking all Indians to stay united!

This the main issue with india Pakistan relationship. He knows they teach Muslims are the superior religion, Hindus are kafir, and india is a bully that started all the wars. Now how can we have peace and harmony? He is asking what is taught in Indian school because he thinks that hatered is taught in our schools as well. But no it is developed when we are older and see terrorist bombs, attack against us, weapons and drug smuggling etc from Pakistan but even still it would be better for india to have a friendly neighbor but how can it happen?? To be fair, the question of Pakistan; the need for the Muslim league and the breakdown of negotiations between the two sides is never really gone into in much detail in our textbooks. Caste struggles such as the non-brahmin movement are also omitted, with maybe the exception of Dr. Ambedkar and his Mahad Satyagraha. I remember distinctly that separate electorates were easily blamed for partition by my teachers without much care given to the position of Dalits and other minorities. Add to this, the fact that History is really taught with any detail once we've specialised into streams after the 10th standard. So I'd say while there isn't an overt attempt to mislead, our sin is more a sin of omission. Let us not pretend that the Indian state is also selling a narrative to its students (as all sates do).

He can't because in Pakistan the following bits of history have been systematically erased and rabidly kept hidden and anyone who tried bringing them to the public was ferociously maligned or even murdered.
1. Hadith declaring beef is harmful and so should not be eaten.
2. Babur wrote in his will to Humayun to ban bovine slaughter.
3. Aurangzeb removed that ban.
So if shahzad criticises Eid he will be murdered certainly. Pakistani elite enjoyed long term funding and support by US,UK and Saudi to provide manpower for wars and labour.
Both these segments draw support from fanaticism.

They are giving excuse that it can happen only after census, and delimitation. Delimitation will happen in 2031. It will take over two years to publish final report of Census 2031. Then Delimitation Commission will be formed, which will take another couple of years. By then, even 2034 Lok Sabha elections will be over!!
Women Reservation to shift beyond 2034 Lok Sabha election. If LS elections happen as per normal schedule, women reservation will come in 2039.

- economy (even while making headlines of highest growth) is bad
- manufacturing (with make in india, PLI - has gone down, in manufacturing to GDP ratio - one of the lowest levels under current govt)
- exports to GDP ratio one of the lowest levels. Forex depleting, we have big reserves only coz of invetsments
- parliament built for 18000 crs, in corona time when he refused help to dead families, and spend it on poor who were jobless. Other such acts of big spending & centralization of power. 2L crores on bullet train - for a line between Ahmedabad to Mumbai - will never recover its cost in lifetime.
His opinion on Holi is so illogical. Cases of Domestic violence against women increases multiple folds in the UK every time there is a football match. Does this mean it's football that promotes violence against women and the UK should ban it?
How is it illogical? Cases of assault are on video, when foreigners visit india and try to play holi.

I want to point something. About caste reservations, most of the Indians who voice against it have the say that those who have got the benefits of reservations and have established themselves through education and good jobs, their kids should not again get reservation benefits. Because now their kids also have those resources which they can use to compete in merit, unlike their parents. Again, there are classes within the lower caste groups, that vary within themselves. some are ultra rich some are too poor. Careful study and research should be made in order to make sure the benefits of the reservations reach the actual targeted group and the group for who they are actually intended for. At the end of the day, the reservations are created to end the caste system and it's issues, rather than to create a vicious cycle.

Dude ,every festival has to be celebrated with proper safety measures.There are mostly drunkard that u need to be careful of in holi and mostly women tell the person to apply colour where they are comfortable at.Likewise in diwali u need to be careful of while bursting crackers.Same in ramazan where i have seen people observing fast in blatant hot summers doing physical work and getting heatstroke or in bakrid getting hit by animal by not properly butchering it.If we go by sanjay's logic on festivals ,than many tribal rituals who are mostly poor won't exist and he calls himself a liberal voice and have problem with karwachauth which is literally a have nothing to do apart from the individual who are observing the fast.

women education and education in general has many factors that contribute to it: beti padhao beti bachao was ahuge movement in the 90's. television was filled with quiz shows and science shows on national tv. schools were at every nook and corner. bachelor in education (B.Ed) was taken up a lot more by women leading people in villages ad small towns to send their daughters to school. the entire atmosphere all through the 80s and 90s has been about education and excelling in it. Pressure to get top grades is equal in girls and boys. delhi has had mainly girl toppers in the board exams. so one cant even say a north south thing here.
