i just hope this series isnt fake, some bosses seem so kind tbh, personal experience has shown me that there´s alot of talking done most of the time, but rarely any action happening.

Don’t be that person… the one who ruins a moment and finds negative in everything, even a touching moment like this.
If you are so worried you could have easily google searched it, i’ve never questioned it but I searched it just to show you proof… the way it works is they don’t know what store they’ll be going to so that the reactions are genuine. They also tell the trainer the filming is for something else and to just train the “contestant” aka “undercover boss”. They get no script all they tell the trainer is to tell a “life-changing event” and to train them.
If the boss gets caught then they either spilt the salary increase in half or elect to vote on if they should just go undercover again somewhere else.
“There are no fees to participate in the show. The only cost is the $200,000 in incentives that you use to reward your employees, but that's something companies should do anyway. You're basically getting free publicity and avoiding paying high fees to advertising. CBS sells its own advertising.”

And i’ve worked all types of industries, yeah half the time managers are not nice but almost always the CEO is a decent person.
@@Lanzetsu CEO’s are usually pretty good people 90% of the time, I think the “bosses” you’re referring to are your managers. Big difference
They’ve done follow ups on some of the bosses, and most follow through but not all. One boss promised a raise and some other stuff, so the guy turned down another job (with better pay)- fast forward 6 months, no raise and his facility closed down.
Haven’t read about a lot of them not following through though.

Some people treat the homeless with disdain. But not all of them are "lazy". Things happen. And it can happen to ANYONE!
Why do we attach the label “lazy” to the homeless. No one grows up wanting to be homeless. Life happens. Mental issues compound it. At the end of the day their human beings just like us. There but for the grace of God go any one of us.
With 70% of americans living paycheck to paycheck being homeless is just one bad tragedy away
It's really humbling and overwhelming when you feel her spirit through the phone, and then her reaction makes you cry like a baby because I've never met someone more deserving than a women/ mother/ provider/ go-getter like herself. I always liked this show.
"No excuses, you can do this". "The more you know, the better... The pay comes later". She's just so beautiful... Not only for the looks, but her attitude.
The reason her child didn't know they were going through hard times was because his very special mom sheltered him from it. She's exceptional. Hard working, and looking at the bright side even through really hard circumstances. I pray her life is beyond blessed.
I love her work ethics .I feel she should have got maybe the managers or team leader s job not just a pay rise .
She was happy getting the raise. Why would you want to have the current manager or team leader terminated just to promote her? You want them to become homeless and poor? Doesn't make sense. Perhaps if one of them move onto a different job or retires she could be promoted.

@@rickgarza4167 she could get promoted with a lead title without taking another person’s job?!! What are you talking about? Any employer can give you a new title to increase your pay, and it won’t effect anyone else. They could give her additional duties to assist her current supervisor or manager also , to help develop her skills and experience. It’s not that deep. The other person was right, a new title would improve her credentials and livihood in the future, if she ever want to grow in that organization and transfer to a higher title or go to another organization. It’s what helps people achieve growth in their career track. 🤷🏾♀️

I'm in tears as a single parent.
I went through a similar experience like this woman, except I was sleeping in a car and eventually a shelter with my mom and stepdad. Took us over two years to get a place to live, and I'm living alone and working a part time job to have a bit of extra spending money. Good on Mercedes for staying with the company for so long, and good on the boss for helping her out the way he does!
I thought they would announce actual amount of salary or gifts (they usually do)…
I’m glad they did not. Bc I think it causes troubles like when you win $, everybody wants some of it.
Also, I think this speaks volumes for this employer and his company. Truly about recognition, not clout or kudos! With that being said, I hope she gets a big increase in pay!
