You can do it. Filed chapter 7, and now have a 726 fico score. After you file, you should dispute all late payments. File it under chapter 7, hopefully they'll be removed. When I filed I was at 587 after disputing every 99 days for about a year my fico (not fake a** advantage score) shot up to 612, then 692, then finally 726!
writing a letter to all 3 credit bureaus asking them to remove all late payments under chapter 7 bk really works? Would you have to send a copy of a letter from your attorney stating the bk being filed?
Thank you so much for the kind words, Gregory! Please give us a call or text at 833-272-3631 if you have any questions or need to get linked up with a local attorney for a free phone evaluation.
I just filed because of a 100k invented debt from the VA, my score on the day of filing was 804 FICO 8. It's now 670 + -. I filed ch 13 and I'll get it above 750 again soon.
I didn’t want to file bankruptcy but had no other choice. The time I had with a delinquent credit card ran out and they froze my checking account without any prior notice. So I had to file bankruptcy after my account was frozen now I’m waiting for the hold on my account to be lifted. I believe it’s deceptive practice to freeze someone’s account with no notice or at least a final 30 day notice to try to work something out. The frustrating part for me is I work full time never been careless with money and still had to file bankruptcy. I had an emergency dental care situation that required me to max out a credit card and I wasn’t able to get ahead of the payments and intrest rates. It’s so easy to get in debt and so hard to get out.
@@AscendFinance Hello Ben thanks for responding! Yes my accounts have been unfrozen after filing chapter 7 so that was a big relief of a lot of anxiety and stress and all of the funds were returned. I still have to appear in bankruptcy court via zoom teleconference at the end of the month. Any advice about that or any advice on recovering from a chapter 7 bankruptcy?

Do you think lawyers and trustuees are in cahoots? I filed chapter 13 and my 5 years will be done in july, but since ive been divorced like 2 years ago and i thought after, becauae just my income, that i could convert to ch 7. My lawyer said i still made too much by some calculations, but i was working o.t. those 6 months. So my true pay was lower. No other lawyer would talk to me since i had one already. Kind of felt scammed, but i see the finishline soon. Glad to put it all behind me soon. What ive learned is file before you get married because they combine incomes even if your spouse isnt filing. Hindsight is 20/20.
So to improve my credit score, should I use my credit cards and pay them in full at the end of the month or carry a low balance on them continuously? Thanks.
Hi! It's always good to have credit cards fully paid off so balances don't continue adding up over time, however if you keep balances below 10% it could help you rebuild.
Does it take years for a bankruptcy to discharge or is that an immediate thing?... curious me and thank you in advance.. I know it takes 7-10 years to fall of credit report
If you are able to qualify for a Chapter 7 the discharge happens once processed through the court. This typically takes around 3 months and then unsecured debts are discharged thereafter.
Hey Mary, that's a great question. Basically, the Chapter 7 bankruptcy may no longer be on your credit report after 10 years, but that I do not believe that guarantees that your credit score will go up 100 points. Hopefully that makes sense?
Do late reports from before filing continue to show after discharge? I have 10 that are 30+ late and another 10 showing 90+ late. I thought it was supposed to be a clean slate? But in my case it doesn't seem to be the case.

Thanks for the message. From my research, I believe it’s after discharge as you may be declined if you’re in a bankruptcy, but you may want to double check with your attorney! Thanks -Ben
There are three major credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. However, there are also smaller, specialized credit bureaus that track different types of financial activity.
Thanks for the message! We have thought about it. We have very specific beliefs on credit repair, and we see that many credit repair firms don’t see it the same way we do. :)
Hey Teng, for Chapter 7 it depends on the state you're in, the complexity of the case, the attorney's expertise, the district you're filing, etc. However, it generally ranges (all-in) $800 - $2,000. The filing fee should be around $338. Some attorneys would allow their fees to be paid over a payment plan and if it's helpful to speak with someone local, let me know! Our number is 833-272-3631.
I paid $1,700. They cleared nearly $35k of credit card debt and cleared one of the two vehicles I was leasing. Allowed me to keep my car to stay on my feet. I had a 550 credit score about 10 months ago. Now im at 680.
