This was quite a timely review for me as I have been thinking of trying a set of swept back bars like these on my ebike. I get wrist pain with most flat MTB type bars and apparently the swept bars put the wrists at a more natural angle. Good to hear that they were comfortable.
If you want an easier pedal at the high end, the setting P11=1 changes the pedal multiplier from 5x to 6x (per manual). P22=1 uncaps PAS1&2 throttle to 20 mph, but no way to increase max throttle speed. I have the high step and I love it. I'm primarily a fitness rider, so I'm usually at PAS1 and like the fwd position to put more leg power in. My last 32 mi ride ended at 52.6V, so my est total range is something like 250 mi. This torque sensor is crazy efficient if you put some leg into it!
The 750 watt version also has the bigger battery so if one had the $$$ I'd say its easily worth it for most folks though at $999, the 500 watt with lectric's customer service is pretty much impossible to beat.
Very glad to see the torque sensor wasnt very jumpy like another bike you recently reviewed. At least on that one, you were able to turn down the assist level via the display. Wish there was a site that showed which ebikes had that feature to adjust the assist level. Regardless, this looks like a great option for my wife's 1st ebike. My 1st needs to have a bit of light trail riding capacity.
Great review! How does the front wheel do on sharp turns? My wife has the Lectric XPeak bike with 4inch tires and the front tire always hits my foot when I make a sharp turn. I’m hoping this doesn’t do that, as this is the bike I’m gonna by for myself.
Great review! Sir, I have a question, your review back in May of the Euphree Stellar Falcon with Schwalbe Johnny Watts 27.5 X 2.8 tires, will these tires work on the Lectric Xpress 750w which has 27.5 X 2.1 on it?
@dr.arnoldbenitez5642 I am certainly no expert on Tire and Wheel fitment however I believe the Johnny Watts tires would fit on the electric wheel. The rim width on the Stellar Falcon is 42mm and on the lectric it is 32mm if that helps. they might be close to rubbing on the lectrics frame in the back but its tough to tell unless you actually try to fit one in there.
Last question on can they give so much for so little...Maybe the others are charging too much? The 500 W version is closer to being affordable. I wonder what the real difference in ride is?
Like a twist throttle better. Also fenders should not be an option but should come on the bike when shipped. Laslty would have liked to see a real brake light. Other than that, looks like a good bike.
Cool review.. I have a rebate for an ebike.. I called Wired and ECells and they would not take it.. This is one of the companies that would take it.. I like how you said that this is one of the bikes that you would recommend if were just getting into ebikes.. That would be me..
Thanks for the review. Lectric if you're reading this, thanks for the torque sensor, good gearing and good quality fork. But... • Throttle should have the option to go 28 mph. • The motor is too noisy. • The upgraded headlight should be standard. • An integrated powered tail light should be included. • Standard battery should be 14ah, while the upgrade should be 20ah. 10ah batteries are just way too small and should be reserved for bikes that cost less than $750.
I didn't hear you mention the MAX seat height. I, being 6'-6'1" with 33.5" inseam, generally have my seat higher than you, as my fake knee requires it for a pain-free ride. So curious of the Max seat height. Thanks.
Been looking at ebikes and this one looks like a good cheaper price.. most seem to use the same motor, battery, brakes, etc. so it seems to me it just comes down to manufacturer after support and build quality of the bike overall. This one seems to be a good company from online research.
Great review. I’m thinking of just the 500W. It’s much quieter and there are no hills where I live that would require the 750W. Besides, at 78 years old I’m not interested in speed anymore. Just a nice leisurely ride. In Arizona we don’t get much rain, so no need for fenders, but brake light, absolutely! Wake up our dumbass Arizona drivers. 😊
I have a class 2 fat tire folder and two almost new Lectric XP Lites. I'm over 66, I try to pedal every day, except in the rain. I only drive when it's raining, or above 40 mph winds. Ride safe.
Why is there no working brake light? If there is one thing that should be mandated on every e bike it’s a friggin working brake light. Seems dangerous and opens Lectric to potential liability especially since just about every other e bike comes with a working brake light. Outside of that, looks like another big seller and a very powerful “legal” bike. I mean if it pulls 1400 watts, that ain’t 750. Can’t be half pregnant so they might as well give you an off road mode to unlock the throttle. Great review!
🤔😒 Good Review, Citizen. But this ebike model is woefully deficient for the price in today's market: 1. ONLY 48volts; 2. Hard Tail (no rear suspension); 3. A NON-survivable eBike during SHTF Critical Incidents in cities (Noise makes it a target for eBike-jacking, useless city tires and tire width in a Get-Off-The-Street/Get-Out-Of-City Hell scenario when more stealthy Off-Road/Trail-Riding is required.); 4. On the Cruiser model, the step through adjustable handlebar is nice especially for oversized and very +PLUS SIZED operators, *BUT* the max bike load is 330 pounds. In this situation, if you add the plus sized operator in addition to a backpack and/or a bike trailer one could easily exceed the weight tolerances and cause a catastrophic failure. True Believer operators in this category can use the above as part of their criteria in search of an eBike. Thank you for the video!❤
I was robbed witwasting near $3,000 on a KASEN RANGER ST. At top speeds, it would do a death wobble putting me in danger. And I am a biker. KASEN are not well built electric bikes. I regret getting rid of my DENAGO
Just had one of each (step thru & step over) delivered a few days ago. We are quite happy with them, other than the loud motors.
Are they the 500 watt or 750 watt motor?

@daRock1212 thank you for the information, I wish I could unlock this throttle I'm not much of a leg man🤣
Love to see the comparison on hill climb with the 500w version. Biggest downside seems to be how loud the motor is. You can really hear it.
@DM-fp8uw I don't have the 500 watt version to test but I bet it would do just fine on that Hill, and the 500 watt motor might be quieter
There is another review or two showing that - the 750 is better (not surprisingly) but not by a massive amount
The 750 watt version also has the bigger battery so if one had the $$$ I'd say its easily worth it for most folks though at $999, the 500 watt with lectric's customer service is pretty much impossible to beat.
@@lmiller151 Link to comparison review?

I got this bike, I love it.
How is the motor noise?
How is the motor noise?
My husband bought the cargo bike, my express is arriving tomorrow
nice to see an ebike with "skinny" tires

I guess am going to continue to save up for the Stella Falcon, instead of the X-750, loved your review.

Love the trail you are on. Where is it and what is it called?
Somewhere in North Carolina

@@dheller777 I agree with you 100% on all points!
If you go to their website it shows this bike with head tube bosses. For a basket. A little deceptive yes?

They will probably tell you 1,800 - 2,000$ for that.
Good job; very objective.

I'm also 6'1", and the seat range is very wide. I'm probably less than half extended on the seat post, and I have perfectly full leg extension
@NOWitsOKto the seatpost is crazy long, maximum seat height is 44 inches!
If Lectric puts a belt drive and a pinion gearing system on that sucker, I'm cutting a check

I agree on the brake light, if i could only have 1 light it would be a brake light. The power on this 750 XPress is definitely impressive.

Tourney and crappy shifter. Man, they almost sold me on it...
The handle bars is a no
Luckily the step over model has a normal handlebar
I have this bike, and I love the handlebars. So it's a yes for me. This is an awesome bike.

Why the HELL the motor it’s so LOUD.. don’t like it because of that… Try AIMA SANTA MONICA…expensive but very QUIET….😊😮….
The 500 w version which peaks at 1050w is much quieter.
