Just imagine how fast the modern superbikes would be on that circuit. The MotoGp bikes would probably be deadly. They really fucked up when they destroyed the old Hockenheimring.
I've never hit the like button so fast! Old superbikes, old Hockenheim. There's nothing that could make this anything less than awesome. I just wish I could've been there to watch the action in person.
Loved watching this! Thank you. I’m luckily enough to say that I’ve finished in front of the “go show”, when he was a bit younger than this event in proper race conditions. That being Phillip Island! It’s why he “burst onto the scene” after winning at PI! He had an advantage that not many would realise. Such a waste of talent that you can’t teach! I remember him turning up to a Victorian State Championship (just to watch) with his band new 911, brand newly made girlfriend. At that stage he had changed. The rest is history. But man that guy could ride and beat the best of the best! Just needed someone to help his head be the best of the best! If so maybe we would now be looking at him like #46!
such a shame, he really was an inspiration to alot, I still hold out hope he can become clean and swing his leg over a bike again one day. I’d let him ride my ZX-7R if he becomes clean.

I love Heuwen's sycophancy for Fogarty. I always used to laugh at how he was always fan boying so hard and/or totally getting everything wrong during his commentary...such as:16:19 or 23:50 or 25:04, or 26:27 or 27:11 or 27:37 etc. Bloke was a clown.
The golden era of WSBK. Hockenheim was the best track, always gave great races and Foggy was simply legend. Never thought the Honda suited him tho, Foggy was made for Ducati.

John kocinski is a pure talent, didn't race at 2005, came at wsbk almost won the championship, won the title in 2006...if he stays in wsbk he will dominate the wsbk, win 5-6 title
We've got some legendary up n coming 4 wheelers in Armstrong, Lawson and of course, Mitch Evans, Brendon Hartley, The Bamber boys, Haydon Paddon and more, but we seem to be lacking 2 wheel talent these days.
I'm not sure today's SBK riders would have the minerals for this track. This generation of riders were a special breed. Still miss old Hockenheim though 😪
Aaah, the old Hockenheim race track.... Running at full blast into the German forests, playing chess in the slipstream at 320kph and throwing the bikes into the 200+kph terrifying right hander, the Ost curve... Because it was. 200 km/h avg. speed for the leading group. The highest avg. speed for the quickest MotoGP lap this year was around 178 km/h at Phillip Island. Also, everything was raw making it look even wilder. WSBK at old Hockenheim was hairy stuff.

One of the best Superbike races ever! One of the best Superbike eras ever. The bikes. The Riders. The circuits. Never again will we witness such intense, immense talent and proper racing circuits that haven't been destroyed by sissified chicanes. 7 to 9 guys who could win a race week in and week out. Not even close in MotoGP. Not even close in modern Superbike. You're lucky if you get 5 fighting for a win. Once dorna purchased sbk it set out to destroy the series on purpose. Because it was threatening the popularity and competitiveness of Grand Prix. Disgusting Spanish Mafia corrupted criminals along with the fim
It certainly never equalled this era. Bizarrely, same happened to F1 and WRC. Best era for any motorsport was 1990 until 2010. I'm a lifelong fan and I don't even watch it now. Got tons on DVD though.
Many problems came to light during the 2000 German Grand Prix, where Brazilian driver Rubens Barrichello won from having started 18th on the grid, in changeable weather conditions. All the overtaking moves that took place during the race were in the chicanes of the forest sector, meaning hardly any spectators saw most of the best action. These events prompted much protest from the FIA to greatly improve spectator viewing, safety, and security at the track, as it had become clear that the track was no longer suited to modern Formula One racing.
@@Ariespradana13 Seem to remember that there was a protester on the track as well. Don't subscribe to the rationale about spectators missing the action. Although you're correct about it, as spectators at any track only see the part of the track they're at. 👍

'Foggy one trick pony?' 🤣 WSB Champion, World Endurance Champion, IOM TT Winner and held lap record for 7 years! The only modern day rider, and probably the last, to win at the TT and be a short circuit World Champion.

Wow. Great racing, legendary track. Thank you SBK
