Being single is awesome!. But wanting a deep hug, and to fall asleep in someone’s arms will make sure you are single forever. No women want a man like that. That’s not being a man. If she was your gf, she would most certainly be screwing around on you with a real man. Just being honest, take or leave the advice.

Also, i'm sorry but i don't think is fair to force me or other people to like something because "i wouldn't be here without it" when i didn't even ask to be here in first place. As a 24 year old virgin (attracted to others) I can agree that I do feel pressured to have sex/relationship as soon as possible to get through this "initiation" phase. I am trying to overcome this feel, and so far it's been working well for me, but there were some really tough times and bad decisions made on the way. So to anyone who's feeling the same, it's okay to stay virgin as long as you need to, we are all different!

I'm 25 and am a virgin as well. As a female, even I feel pressured. All my girl friends (at least the majority of them) have lost their virginity and then there's me. lmao Yeah, I could be a slut but nah. I could hook up with somebody for one night. Nope. lol Even though it's hard, it's better to wait. I believe sex is more worth it when it's with somebody you love and not just somebody you hooked up with from off the street. The right girl (I'm assuming you're a straight dude haha correct me if I'm wrong) won't care if you're still a virgin. Heck, you might get a girl who's still a virgin as well and if all goes well, you'll get to experience something wonderful and beautiful together.

Quick question: I've had it drilled into my head throughout my teenage years that asking anything about sex is forbidden, and any male doing so is to be labelled a pervert / lecher / creepy, regardless of how innocuous that question might be. How can one overcome that sort of stigma, especially when that mindset has had at least a decade to settle in?

    • @JersAltAccount
      @JersAltAccount 3 ปีที่แล้ว +27

I've been fortunate enough that even though I grew up (and am still growing up, since I'm 15) in a Christian home, my grandparents, by whom I was raised, have always been very open in regard to discussing the topic of sex. It makes no sense that a person should be labeled as heretical for wanting a better understanding of a God-given bodily function, considering a number of books in the Bible itself discuss sex extensively, those books existing for the sole purpose of informing believers about the subject while being exhalted as sacred works by the Church. It's not knowledge that corrupts you, but what you do with it. "Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. (Matthew 15:11, KJV)" Hope this helps, and have a great day! God bless!

Misinformation and an unhealthy attitude and belief system about sex is what causes a lot of perversion and all other vile things. Your sexuality and capacity to be sexually engaged is a natural part of you. Sex is a deliberate design that has been encompassed into all species. It's how we procreate and it's how we connect with our partners and maintain oneness.
Read up on varying perspectives around sex. Read up about our Creator's thought behind creating sex and how He desires us to use it. Conduct a case study on people who have deviated from that intent. You'll find that miseducation/misinformation about sex is the cause of all kinds of sexual perversion, exploitation, violence and shame. Sex is not a bad thing and asking questions isn't something to be ashamed of either. You can undo the bad work that you've learnt throughout the years.

Media and entertainment butchered raw connectivity with real relationships. sex is supposed to be better, relationships are supposed to be easier, and bonds are supposed to happen after a one night stand. Then on the other side of the same fence, cheating is bound to happen, single life is easier and connectivity is ‘too risky’. Fuck the media, honestly. I chose a relationship when I felt I was ready with the right person, not when my parents and media decided for me. The best part of a relationship is when it’s chill and relaxed in reality, not all this drama mixed with galore. They’re kinda toxic expectations.

Lots of people make it to their 30s without ever having a partner, my gf is one of them. Some people go longer. Its okay to not be interested in having a partner and it doesnt make you weird or broken to go a long time in your life without having a partner even if you want one. Theres no expected age to have your first kiss, first partner or first sexual encounter and you don't have to do any of those things if you dont want to.

I just want to mention that there was a 2014 study on HPV mentioned in the video, and that since 2014 a lot more has been done by colleges to prevent HPV- I wonder if there is a more recent study that could have been referenced for the data on that? I know that it's not always easy or even possible to access the most updated research, however if a study about something like infection rate is over 5 years old, that might not be great to include! To me it is too soon to have sex after second or a third date. A month or two is ok. It is period in which I can see how someone acts. The funny thing is that most men over thirty are like..well you had sex before and we aren't kids. Well we aren't so I ask them to test for stds. They are shocked. Well we aren't kids are we? Men have more testosterone and sex is way much on their mind on a daily bases. There are demisexual men and also there are heterosexual men who know how to build the attraction. It makes perfect sense because it happens in other animals too. Pretty sure we are driven by quite a few biological factors we aren't fully aware of that leads to survival and reproduction.

The study that showed that brain stimulation is stronger with people who have had a lot of sex does not necessarily mean that we are wired from birth to want more sex. Aka comparing neurological patterns as children and then see how they turn out 15 years later

The more people watch porn and think about sex, the more their brain becomes wired to think about sex. I don't have the study reference, but it has been studied. But it is also common sense, the more you think about something the more your life revolves round it, so if you think about sex all the time, then yeah, your life is going to revolve around it.

i think it would be interressing to see psychological effects about periods. Personnally, it just gives me suicidal thoughts and makes me feel really bad.
edit : for more precisions, i don't think i have Premenstrual disphoric discorder ; i'm depressed even when not on period. But it's making my life extremly hard, i feel like i'm different even if a lot of people around me have period. I can't handle having them mentally, in top of that i've got very very heavy flows and my period stay 1 week. I have obsessional thoughts about it, i did 4 panick attacks only because of this, i've seen a doctor telling me i had symptomes of a depression (i even cried during the consultation). It's very hard for me to talk about it and i feel like my dad don't even care. Like i said i'm not depressed only before/during period, but it's the worse moments i experience.

I'm homeschooled too, and it's so funny how everyone assumes we don't know anything XD Like I get the same knowledge I would get in school, but plus extra Love and affection form my parents because I'm not gone all day, plus a better relationship with my parents, because they are the ones teaching me, and always know what I'm struggling with and how to help, plus a crazy strong relationship with my siblings, plus all my friendships are Real, and we're not trying to act cool.
My parents always said one of their least favorite things about school, is that they push EVERYTHING. They want every kid to learn something as good as everyone else, at the exact same time as everyone else. As a kid, my sister couldn't read, barley at all, it just wasn't clicking in her head. She was really young and her brain just hadn't developed that part enough, so my Mom took it out of her school for about a year, than when she brought it back, it clicked and she started reading every book, until her room became a library.
So instead of (if she was in school.) Being forced to learn it anyway, and not understanding it, and feeling like she's stupid, and getting picked on, and learning to HATE Reading.
Instead she got to take a break, let her mind grow, come back, get good fast, and love it the rest of her life.
And that's one of the reasons I love being homeschooled 😎

I was impatient with sex and met the wrong women and that made me miss red flags and have chaotic relationships. My last relationship was good and better than previous ones because it wasn't rushed. Be patient because relationships can cause some stress especially if you jump right in bed with someone you hardly know.

Most of the time, and I do mean, *most of the time*, people who are sad about not having sex is not even because they don't know what it's like, because in reality, we could care less. But rather, it is because being a virgin nowadays makes a person feel alienated.
Like you have a mental problem disease for not being sexually active.
Ahhh, I have come to peace with my virginity and singleness after realizing and fully contemplating how serious sex and relationships are. Realizing that I actually... don't want that yet..
But the trauma of a life long years of pressure is something that I have to work on getting out of my head, like a poisoning shard shoved in my brain by the standards of society...
I also realized that the fairytale life is unrealistic. Having a family by 25? Nonsense. the more I found that grown adults between 25 and 40 are virgins gave me a sense of relief, because those people prove that we as humans are more free than I thought, and owe no one any type of life performance.

    • @wolfi6194

Same as you I have felt so pressured for years and years, to the point that I put myself in uncomfortable/dangerous situations in order to get rid of my virginity, which eventually became some sort of disability in my eyes.

Thanks for sharing the fact about birth control! As a female who is on the pill, I noticed these( financially stable, not having attraction to masculine men) Also, No wonder why I still have a lot of attraction to my crush.

Hey, i’m about to go on the pill. My current boyfriend is a rather masculine man, do you think my attraction towards him is going to change drastically?

@@norahkan3123 I know that this is late, but as a 20 year old guy, it's important to understand that TRUE love is NOT defined by how they think of you based off of appearance alone. Yes, looking good is obviously important to have us guys think of you as attractive and thus more sexually open, but true love is when someone loves you for who YOU are, and is not at all afraid to open up to you about their deepest secrets and when things get dicey. :)
