    • @ashleys3dprintshop
      @ashleys3dprintshop  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes. The angle does not matter much. But if you are printing logs with it can be punishing on the AMS, filament usage and print times.
Each color change adds about 90-120 seconds with every change. If you have 2 changes per layer its almost 4-5 min per layer. It adds up fast.
Ideally I would make the the prints colors horizontal but nothing is stopping you from making it vertical.

Thanks so much for this, I have a challenge for you that I am trying to figure out myself (if at all possible). Do you think you can wrap an image around a cylindrical .STL file? Or do they all have to be flat for the image to work?

      Challenge accepted!Lol
Interestingly enough have been thinking about this for a bit.
So there is a way to add some images to a curved surface. However there is a huge caveat.
Full images will not work, or at least I have not found a way to do it.
However, line art/outline of an image may work.

Do you have any suggestions on what to do to fix this? I also got an error message stating "Unable to print multiple filaments which have large temperature differences together." Hello. There can be a few reasons but lets start with the simplest one first.
Switch over to Process Global , quality, wall generator: Arachne
Another simple thing to try is this.
Convert the text type to modifier then repaint
      th-cam.com/video/C3dXlJB9pb0/w-d-xo.html
If there arent enough layers slightly more advanced
      th-cam.com/video/F7L2_R4zEXI/w-d-xo.html
As for the temp issue you will need to change the filament type to the same brand.(there are other more complicated ways but we can keep it simple.
For example if you are printing with PLA set all of the filaments to "bambu PLA basic" you can keep your colors the same.
I may revisit the assembly video as there have been many advancements since then.

1 there isnt enough layers to show up
But the big one for most folks is the order of the parts
Here is a quick video about it.

Having a challenge with this on the text/name portion. Printing a logo in orange and teal and that portion is perfect, colors pop. Below it I have a name in orange also and in a larger font/size than the logo. But the name portion of the print almost comes of “hazy/faded”. Almost as if I’m getting a black layer somewhere that should be orange. Any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong?

    • @ashleys3dprintshop
      @ashleys3dprintshop  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

There are a few ways to look at this. You can repaint the text,(which I will assume you have tried) you could also increase the layer size for just the text.
So if your text was .1mm you can try to increase the z height to .2 or .4mm.(turn off uniform scale) This will push the text above "flush" you can use the "move" tool to push back down.
It's not explained in this video but it is explained in this one. th-cam.com/video/F7L2_R4zEXI/w-d-xo.html

@@BluDog35 No worries, here to assist if I can. If you have the file as an SVG already you should not need convert it to stl.
You can import an svg which gives you a ton of options. Especially in painting.
Adding it to a part can be straight forward from there. You may need to center it, place logo in position, highlight all parts, right click assemble.
You can still move parts in objects process at any point, before or after assembly but if you miss click the whole model gets selected vs the part you want to manipulate.
I hate to throw a bunch of homework at you vs a straight solution so I'll give you some of my vids that cover it. I try to keep things under 20min.

You can print pla with the top and door closed. You don't need to crank the chamber fan, and you don't need to heat beyond 35c the bed.
Only difference is I haven't tried windex. Lol have you tried the pei, peo or other plates?

I have followed this to the T and tried over and over. As soon as I slive, the main object takes over the text and it is no logner visible. I have even tried to paint it again. I am running the latest version of Bambu Studio. Very frustrating.

Hello, thanks for reaching out. You are probably running into a somewhat common issues that didn't crop up for in in this video.
There is an "order of operations" for assembled/merged parts.
Its a simple fix however. You just need to "move" the main part above the text parts in object process.
      Better explained here.

@@ashleys3dprintshop Thanks for the reply! I did do this first. After playing with it a little more, I got it to where i could see bits of the text after slicing, but there is no way it would be readable. I closed the proejct and will try to start over when I can find a solution.

@@aaronscalise7682 How "thick" in the z axis is your text/image?
I recommend at least 2 layers worth.
So at a .2mm layer height then the text should be at least .4mm high.
Also you mentioned it may not be readable are you making the text small? If so there are a few options.
Smaller nozzle, or change line width.
Arachne wall generator tries to automatically change the line width but it may not always work.

Actual fix in action on .4mm or .2mm nozzle.

But if line width is your issue and you are using a .4mm nozzle try changing your line width to .3mm.

@@aaronscalise7682 once the text is embedded into the model just changing the z height may throw off the whole model.
Sometimes it's good to right click, separate into objects. Make the z height adjustments, then merge them together again.
Just be aware when you separate into objects everything falls to the plate.
