- Welcome back. Quick video with steps to turn on LAN only mode which disconnects from Bambu Lab cloud servers. You will have most functionality locally and there is a solution to connect to the printer using another cloud service.

That's what I want to see. No long drawn out intros. Quick and to the point with all steps laid out.
So many yt stretch out their videos with long intros, pointless stories, b roll to pad the run time.
Brevity is the soul of wit. I am usually long winded though. lol
It's refreshing to see a video that gets to the point.
Thank you good sir. I am still tweaking my videos so any an all feedback is much appreciated.
Great option to get out of Bambu labs cloud.
It sure is! When the printer was released everyone was saying the printer has to be online to work. That couldn't be further from reality. Also if the company goes belly up, you don't want cloud stuff or your internet is down it's good to have alternative options.
quick to the point! love your vids! therefore subbed with bell. ❤
Thank you for the comment. More videos incoming.
Ima need this lol right now
Perfect timing. I think The cloud has a outage today. I think depending on your version of studio will ask for the access code.
Thank you for commenting.
Thank you Ashley are a star. Just a quick one. Will this work for my web cam pluged on my computor so i can monitor my other printer? Thanks.
Hello again. Actually yes this should work with a webcam you have connected to the PC.
Just go to the camera app on the PC.
Windows start menu
type: Camera
It will open the webcam and see anything in view of the cam.
I forgot to mention the computer needs to be on and not in sleep mode.
Your internet connection needs to be decent as well otherwise it may be a slideshow of images.
Thank you Ashley i just got it right.@@ashleys3dprintshop
Nice. Can a Mac do the same, but a different extension?
Thank you. Yes a Mac can easily do this as well.
There are a few programs that should work with Mac. Splashtop, teamviewer ,chrome remote desktop. The key to Mac computers is once the remote program is installed you need to add permissions in system preferences(settings)
Splashtop

Hi Ashley, i would like to ask you if i may, have you done the latest firmware upgrades and if so have you had any issues with it. Thank you
Hey hey. 😀I just got the latest X1C firmware update yesterday. So far I only got a chance to run a 15hr print but so far so good. Have you gotten the last update?
@@ashleys3dprintshop I haven't done no updates yet. Lol I'm to scared to do it after reading all the problems that lots of people get.
@@tonymarreiros3186 so far so good. Also if there is an issue we can easily roll back to a previous version in Bambu handy. 😁
@@ashleys3dprintshop Ok then i'm going to try it. Thank's a ton.
The video is still jerky jerky. Do you know or can you demonstrate a way to live stream the printers video so it’s not chopped up while using the P1S in built camera? I can setup an alternate web cam of sorts but was trying to think of a way to get smooth video from the printers built in camera while in LAN only mode.
Hello, Thank you for the question. I can give you 2 answers.
1. The FPS(frames per second) on the P1S is locked to .5 fps. The older brother X1C gets 24fps.
So there isnt a way to smooth out the video unless bambu lab unlocks the camera further. The main processor for the printer is almost at it's limit already so I doubt they will do that.
If it isnt real time which is kinda the point you can somewhat fix choppy video in a AI video editor if you were making videos from it.
2. You are on the right track with an alternative camera or smart cam. An inexpensive one like a wyze camera works well but it would need to be mounted externally. There are small cameras from other brands, think spy camera size, that can be mounted. You wouldn't be using studio. The P1s has a usb port inside (.5v 1.5A)or you can use that small hole in the top right of the p1s to route a small cable through
@@ashleys3dprintshop yeah thanks, of course you are right. I have a Raspberry Pi-5 and a very small usb camera I think I’ll try to mount up and stream the video from the pi-5/camera to another computer. That may suffice.
Anyway thanks for your video and good info.
Kindest regards,
Dennie
Hi, is it disabling any cloud camera capture or 3d print file into the bambulab cloud?
When the printer is in Lan only you disconnect from Bambu servers. So no images from camera or print files get transfered to Bambu servers.
I have personally tested this by disconnecting my router from the internet and (most) of the printer works fine.
@@ashleys3dprintshop so it is not anymore a show stopper to buy this printer, do you agree?
@@gillescarali6843 Yes I agree. Nearly all of the concerns that people had about bambu printers has been cleared up if you can run the printer offline.
@@ashleys3dprintshop why is it nearly and mostly ? what functionality doesn't work?
@@constructiverealities Thank you for the question. If you are in lan only mode and control the printer from a PC most functions are there. Sending/starting stopping/pausing jobs, camera and general controls of the printer are there.(which most people will be fine with)
*****************************
*Lan Only limitations*
When on lan only you cannot sync print profiles(custom filament, temps etc) if you run multiple computers with Bambu Studio/orca slicer.
print fail detection, push notifications, errors and other issues to a phone/tablet are not available. So you have to check in on the printer if there is an issue. (like every printer out there...lol)
Bambu handy will not work so you cannot print directly from a phone, through the Bambu app
Printing from history, makerworld from the app is out.
Maker world was released after this video but you can print from a cell phone without ever touching a slicer program. Great for newbies or those who dont want to get into slicing a file to print for models already available and tested.
Updates are cloud only, firmware roll backs will not work as the are done the bambu handy app. Typically the updates thing is not a big deal as most new updates are for cloud services anyway and if the printer is working alright then updates arent deal breakers and honestly they were never promised [by bambu] or expected [roadmap].
On an X1C you can access the memory card using BL studio but I left instructions for a work around to access the memory card over local network. (X1C/p1p/a1mini)
**************************
My way at is a workaround so you can control a local PC to recovery most functionality if you are away from the printer. (camera, monitoring, stopping starting prints etc)
Since the local PC has internet you can access your slicer, makerworld too.
Access SD card over network

Ultimately My video(s) is an answer to people who think
1. The printers only work on bambu cloud(it works offline fine)
2. If bambu lab folds up we are stuck with paper weights.( works fine without bambu surviving)
3. People who are oppsoed to Bambu cloud. (removed a pain point about cloud services/security/privacy or the company in general)
4. Have a workaround if there is a bambu cloud outage. ( more tools in the "plan B" tool chest)
Thank you for the question and apologies about the long response.
