  • I wanted to do a quick walkthrough for "AJ", who asked about making a custom 3D Printed Box with a Logo on it. This is a really simple process for my logo, however, it can take a few minutes for more complex logos to paint the different colors.

      @ I love that one as well. His channel has inspired more shop ideas, and your channel has inspired new marketing techniques and ideas on Etsy. You’ve got me interested and researching selling on amazon as well. I’m working on building more selection in my shop. One question, do you think having your TH-cam has improved your overall sales, and brand recognition?

    • @TheMountainMaker
      @TheMountainMaker  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think having TH-cam has definitely driven traffic to my shop, but i don’t think it’s for sales as much as it is research for other people to see what I’m selling and have listed.

    • @SnS3D
      @SnS3D หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ that makes sense. I’ll admit, I have looked your shop up on Etsy to see how your descriptions read on a couple of listings. Seems like mine are at least on par with other creators as well as yourself. I’ve kind of landed on the fidget niche. Not what my initial intention was, but hey, if that funds where I want to go then I’ll get really good at what brings business. I really appreciate your responses, and your content. It’s good to be able to bounce ideas off of someone I view as having a similar approach to the industry.

    Another thing I learned that came in handy when adding texts and logos is if there is some odd gaps on the model right clicking and hitting "fix model usually resolves those problems

    The 'Purging Trick', wish I'd known about that last week! I used the slicer 'text' with fonts but found Orca has better control over the effects. On the Bambu Lab Plate, I used tree support then spent an hour trying to get the support off the plate without destroying the plate, Bambu PETG HF @70/250

    • @TheMountainMaker
      @TheMountainMaker  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      PETG is definitely more difficult to remove from the build plate than PLA is. I’ve ruined a number of build plates across a couple different machines from PETG getting stuck to it. One thing i found that helps with PETG removal is a glue stick. I’m not a fan of using glue in most cases, but for getting PETG to come off, it works wonders. That obviously doesn’t help after the fact but just something to keep in mind for next time to try out.

    I do this workflow constantly and there isn’t much of anything else I would add 👍.
    Video 💡 idea: How do I get the filament profiles on my Bambu slicer to populate on the machine to select for the A1/mini AMS when loading filament. I have updated slicers, firmware… and now some of the previous options that came with the machine are gone 😢. I am missing something obviously but don’t have time to dive through enough form posts to figure it out.

    I don't know how many color layers you did but I've found with lighter graphics on a dark surround you need at least 3 or 4 due to the translucency of the PLA and maybe more. That could vary with different brands.

      You can get a latest version of Bambi studio and use the assembly tool in the top menu. Hold ctrl+click on each part to assemble. Esc to redo. Merge actually more accurately describes the action of combining multiple objects into a single printable unit. Merge or assemble the svg into your 1st layer(working on the build plate upside down). Flip the logo so it’s in the right direction since it’s upside down. Then use the paint tool to paint the logo object (select it from the left menu in objects). I do what he says also only print one wall on first later (option).

    I'm still having issues not sure what I am missing. Imported my SVG logo fine, sized it, flipped it over then added box. If I slice now it complains but I can see the logo on the box in slice view. So if I got back to model and select logo and box under objects and assemble them as you did then slice it and I get no errors. However in the preview slice I can no longer see the logo and the slicer shows it will only use 1 filament color and not two as expected. Any ideas? Also I tried in Bambu slicer and Orca with same results. Thanks

      It may, i just ended up using that profile for the first test print, and it worked so I’ve used it on every print since. I am going to try this same print in Bambu with the super tack profile just to see if i get a little more squish on the first layer

    • @TheMountainMaker

      They’re both on the same plane. Even if i move the box up half a layer height (+0.10mm), it will still end up on the same layer as the logo because of the layer height I’m printing at

    Would this only work to add logos if its on the bottom surface? Or can i do this to add it to the side of a container?

    • @TheMountainMaker
      @TheMountainMaker  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You could technically put it on the side, but it would take many filament changes to print the same thing. It would work best on the side if you bring it out slightly from the surface of the container. You will have to manually rotate the logo to be facing in the correct orientation and utilize the move tools inside of Orca to scale it and drag it around until it is where you want it. Assembling and slicing the file should work the same way after the logo is in place.

    • @TheMountainMaker
      @TheMountainMaker  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      So far from my tests using Bambu connect, its a smooth piece of software, albeit, another piece of software. Its easy enough to save the gcode file and open it in bambu connect. Hopefully Orca will release an update for the "Print" button soon, that should allow them to send the file from Orca, to Bambu connect and from there you can just choose your machine and hit print. That said, Bambu Studio is basically the same thing as orca with a few missing features.

    I have a question: is it possible to put the logo on top of something but the surface should be even (same as it is as on the bottom of the box)? Thanks and best regards. And the surface on my L shaped Object on top is convex so it is a bit hard to get a smooth surface after putting the logo on top..

    • @TheMountainMaker
      @TheMountainMaker  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can do that in the same way i did this one, except you’ll need to move the logo higher on the z-axis and play around with it until it is level with the top of the box. It won’t come out looking as clean unless you are using a smaller nozzle, and even then, it won’t be quick as smooth. As for the convex surface, you’ll have to play around with nodes and a modeling software to bend it over the different surfaces. I believe fusion has a quick way of projecting onto a surface and shapr3d does as well but nothing inside of the slicer as far as i know of

    I'm having an issue when assembling the items. It is still all glitchy and does not work out like shown in the video. Any suggestions?

    • @TheMountainMaker
      @TheMountainMaker  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Make sure you hit slice and are Inside the preview tab, not the prepare tab as it will still look glitched out on the prepare tab, but look fine once it has been sliced and ready to send to the printer. If that isn't the case, you can always try lowering your logo slightly below the surface of the box by .05mm or .1mm. In theory it would be protruding out from the bottom, but in reality, that small of a movement will just combine the layers into one, but still give you the image you are going for.

  • @ryandetzel848
    @ryandetzel848 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Curious why it was 14 changes. Does the logo go deeper than a single layer, looking at the colors shouldn't it be only 6-8 changes?

    • @TheMountainMaker
      @TheMountainMaker  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It does, if i had lowered the height down to .8 or 1 mm, it would’ve done less changes

  • @daiseyd7652

    • @TheMountainMaker

      Just due to the thickness of the model. If i had made it .6 or .8mm, it would’ve only been 2 or 3 filament changes
