    This just makes me even more excited for the 14 SIs in the spring. If my 04 Ex coupe wasn't on its last life, I would be purchasing this. But of course, since it's a Honda, I have like 10 more years on that. Great improvements! Dope review too.

    Checked out a '14 Civic EX sedan in Dyno Blue Pearl tonight....W-O-W!!! Forget the LX...the EX is the one to get! Comes so ridiculously well equipped...push button start, smart entry system, 7" display (touch screen) for audio and phone, 16" alloys, moonroof, 4 wheel disc brakes, automatic climate control, auto on/off headlights, and Honda LaneWatch. Incredible value! Dyno Blue Pearl = AWESOME color! What a beauty! I'm in love (I know typical guy).

    Does the driver have the camera mounted on the TOP of his head?
    The lens seems to be right up at the visors, way up there.
    Seems to be a nice quiet ride, more quiet than the new Corolla, that's for sure.

  • @patwickgriff

    I noticed with the CVT you just simply GO (sort of like an EV)! You get up to speed quickly and without any fuss. No more of the pausing and shift points of the old style "geared" automatic.

    My mom has a 2012 civic.. I still live at home and it's the vehicle I drive too. I really hope that the cvt improved performance and mpgs. I, along with many others, only get about 24mpg city (auto non si) and about 30-32 highway.. that's not THAT good really..and is less than "advertised". My mom's lease will be up in a couple months and we are going to soon drive a 2014 and see what we think.
    BTW, this is definitely no luxury car. The ride is very stiff, rather noisey (as you can hear in this video).. but for spirited driving the ride is decent.

    you said "simulated" 1st gear, what exactly did you mean by that.
    so with the paddle shifters are you in the gear it says you are in or no.
    you didnt really touch on that, im very curious

      Its a CVT transmission. it will lock the gear ratio into a gear like 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.

    Hey
    Quick question
    I brought 2014 civic ex sedan; if I hold the steering wheel straight around 10-50 mph, it kinda goes towars to left; I have to hold it angle in order to go as straigh in that speed! Is it normal? Or is it any problem? Just concern and noise level is bad! Is it normal 2014 sedan?

  • @thwipp89

    i have a 2013 civic ex automatic. the one thing i've been disappointed in is the MPG. i'm not getting any better MPG than the 2003 civic ex auto that i traded in, even using the econ button 99% of the time and i've even been driving with a much lighter foot while the engine breaks in. i'm a little over 2k miles so far. have you heard any complaints about the 2013 MPG?? i'm getting about 27-30 MPG and about 60-65% of that is city driving.

    • @mikegoldberg6946
      @mikegoldberg6946 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, I got the 2014 civic ex 4 door. I have been doing 80% city driving and getting 28-30 mpg with the econ button and light foot on. I have 300 miles on mine so far. I think Tue advertised mpg is bull crap.

    • @dominictierno9675
      @dominictierno9675 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a 2013 Civic LX Sedan. I do about 65% city driving and I average roughly 34-35 MPG, with 80% highway driving I do about 41 MPG and with 80% city driving I get around 30 MPG. Not sure what is going on, but, I just trained myself to use a light foot and take advantage of the Eco-Assist ambient sensors as well as the mpg coaching meter on the right side of the dash. It's worked for me.

    • @thwipp89
      @thwipp89 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      chicago had a long, brutal winter and i attribute some of the lower mpg to that and possibly the engine needing to break in a little. since it's been warmer and i now have 6k miles on my car, i've been getting 32-33 mpg and driving with a heavier foot now, so i find this more acceptable. haven't gone on any long road trips to test the full highway mpg. my '03 civic ex got 39+mpg on 2 long roadtrips when it was over 10 yrs old!

    I have a Civic EX sedan. My question is, what are the gears S and L for??

    • @christopherlewis6044
      @christopherlewis6044 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The S is the sport mode which allows you to use the paddle shifters to simulate shifted gears with the cvt and the low gear I'm guessing is if your hauling something or If your going through snow

    • @josericalday
      @josericalday 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the EX sedan model, where do you find the shifted gears??

    • @398700773
      @398700773 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only the coupe gets pedal shifters

    • @christopherlewis6044
      @christopherlewis6044 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yea that's right

    • @xlee888
      @xlee888 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      S is like sport mode, it goes into higher rpms when you step on the gas, L is for low gear mode, like if you're stuck in snow, or mud. Eco mode will keep your rpm under 2,000 under normal driving conditions if you're not flooring the gas pedal.

      Yesenia Feliciano have you checked autotrader.com? They show cars from private sellers, small dealers, to big deslers. It's very helpful and you can choose what color you want as well. I'm saving up for a civic too but I can't get a coupe because I'm a guy and insurance is expensive for guys especially teens.

  • @AMDGuy88
    @AMDGuy88 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey guys i just bought my 2013 Honda Civic on Sep 4, 2013 yea not long ago and the reason why i didnt buy the 2014 was because of that struggling CVT and i wanted the last Gen 5 Spd auto box, But i'm taking it easy cuz of this do not over rev to high RPMs while its still new, I currently have 255 miles on it and this guy is on a 2014 with possibly less then 10 miles and hes whaling it, So back to my question, This engine break in dont pass 4 to 5k on the tach till you hit 600 miles, Is it worth upholding this rule?, I really want to break the rule but dont want any engine damage in the long run, any advice thanks YT!!

    • @megatop412
      @megatop412 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not a mechanic but it makes logical sense to not beat a brand new car up too much in terms of breaking it in. People say that new cars don't need to be broken in, I say that's bs. It's still a machine and the parts still need to be set properly. When I first got my '98 I didn't go over 3000 rpm at all until I had 500 miles on it. I still have the car, it still runs nicely, and I'd like to think that is partly thanks to Honda and partly due to respecting the mechanicals.
