I have committed to reviewing new Honda Autos every time a new one reaches my lot. I am in sales, so I get the first look at these cars! I am stoked to see every new re design and feature and share them with you in high quality. If you're stoked too, I'd love to have you as a subscriber! :) - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
This just makes me even more excited for the 14 SIs in the spring. If my 04 Ex coupe wasn't on its last life, I would be purchasing this. But of course, since it's a Honda, I have like 10 more years on that. Great improvements! Dope review too.
Great Video. In the process of buying a new Civic. Wasn't sure on this year or possibly keeping my 08. I think after seeing this Vid..it is worth the change. Love my Civic!
Love the new sport mode. Can't wait till my 2013 demo sells. This car has that little bit of extra sportiness I been craving.
I now own one of these. Thanks for the awesome video Edward.
Checked out a '14 Civic EX sedan in Dyno Blue Pearl tonight....W-O-W!!! Forget the LX...the EX is the one to get! Comes so ridiculously well equipped...push button start, smart entry system, 7" display (touch screen) for audio and phone, 16" alloys, moonroof, 4 wheel disc brakes, automatic climate control, auto on/off headlights, and Honda LaneWatch. Incredible value! Dyno Blue Pearl = AWESOME color! What a beauty! I'm in love (I know typical guy).
I love it! I wish I could have waited one more year! I have the 2013 but LX. I love it too!
Can u do a review on a 2013 honda civic si coupe with stock customization. And I love ur vids they are nice and well put together!
Nice review, Edward! Glad you liked the performance of the CVT as much as I did. I was really impressed with how smooth and refined the powertrain was paired with the CVT. Just an overall excellent package!
I agree! As you saw from the drive, I was again stunned by the lanewatch!
nice job..civic was my first car..civic coupe 2012 but i like the latest one.. :)
definitely stronger acceleration than my current Civic :) I want one
As a diesel truck/BMW guy, i must say the quality of these new civics is pretty nice
Hey Edward, great review! Is there any way you can demo CarPlay on the civic coupe? I'm in the market and ill probably be buying in 2 or so months.
Fave salesman on yt
Great review!
I take my 2014 civic offroading at Alabama Hills. Does just fine getting sideways in the dirt.
Niiice! Deff test drive the sedan when you get some :D
I did a few days ago! :) check out my channel when you have a chance!
Does the driver have the camera mounted on the TOP of his head?
The lens seems to be right up at the visors, way up there.
Seems to be a nice quiet ride, more quiet than the new Corolla, that's for sure.
I noticed with the CVT you just simply GO (sort of like an EV)! You get up to speed quickly and without any fuss. No more of the pausing and shift points of the old style "geared" automatic.
Anyone know if the 14 Si coupe spoiler will fit on 14 Ex coupe? I think it might but I am still looking into it and would like a confirmation.
does the civic LX comes with adjustable front seat height ?
Sweet vid, man! Do you do Kias as well?
Please do the 2014 civic si that would be awesome
My mom has a 2012 civic.. I still live at home and it's the vehicle I drive too. I really hope that the cvt improved performance and mpgs. I, along with many others, only get about 24mpg city (auto non si) and about 30-32 highway.. that's not THAT good really..and is less than "advertised". My mom's lease will be up in a couple months and we are going to soon drive a 2014 and see what we think.
BTW, this is definitely no luxury car. The ride is very stiff, rather noisey (as you can hear in this video).. but for spirited driving the ride is decent.
The CVT killed what otherwise was a fine commuter car. This car has been reliable and good on gas, but I'm ready for something much more fun.
Hello sir I'm looking to purchase this as my first car do u recommend? I wanted a regular civic but I'm not having any luck and there's this lady selling a 2014 coupe with 125k miles for 10k. What do you think?
Is it still worth gettin in 2020
I meant to also comment about the new seat and door fabric. It feels more premium and more durable compared to the '13 Civic. It looks and feels like it'll last the life of the car.
Paddle shifters?
Want about the ft with having to put the fob in foil
My grandma has the same exact car and same spec and she’s gunna give it to me when I get my license she wants to keep it in the family cuz my grandpa died and he bought it for her
Your Pov angle is a little steep for my liking. Should lower the camera to help with the kinda of wide morphing effect
Hey what camera did you use for this if you remember? Nice vid by the way
asdbs11 sony AS15 action cam
Is the MPH display visible if you drive with your left hand on the top of the wheel? It seems like it would be hard to see it with your hand in the way.
I own one, it really depends on where you have your steering wheel set, but I have had no issues seeing it at any point.
you said "simulated" 1st gear, what exactly did you mean by that.
so with the paddle shifters are you in the gear it says you are in or no.
you didnt really touch on that, im very curious
Its a CVT transmission. it will lock the gear ratio into a gear like 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.
Does the navigation system you mentioned only work with I phone 5?
I believe he said iphone 5 and up, however he didn't mention android or windows devices... :/
Hi Edward nice video! I have a question, does the HDMI feature for navigation works with android smartphones?
Hey I have a2014 civic ex and the HDMI basically is like any other hdmi input. I hooked it up with my lap top and you can see the desktop on the screen. I have nexus 4 so it does not have any HDMI out. But I am pretty positive it will work. I also want to get the GPS thru HDMI some how.
Mike Goldberg Thank you!
I'm looking to buy my first car and I want to get a civic, I'm just not sure what year I want. Any advice for a first time buyer?
2013 if any are left, You get to have the last gen 5 Spd box plus a great deal on left over 2013 Honda Civics, Bash it out with your dealer, Nothing like a good ass whooping to your dealer.....Mwahahahahahahahaha
Does anyone know if the HDMI port is only for the iphone or if this is just another person who only knows of the iphone as a smartphone and didn't mention any android phones? Thanks.
Esteban Flores I'm pretty sure it's any phone
That was fast thanks
hahah I knew I HAD TO today
Hey
Quick question
I brought 2014 civic ex sedan; if I hold the steering wheel straight around 10-50 mph, it kinda goes towars to left; I have to hold it angle in order to go as straigh in that speed! Is it normal? Or is it any problem? Just concern and noise level is bad! Is it normal 2014 sedan?
Take it back to your dealer....
When are the Si's being shipped out??
March
Purposely found a 2013 auto to avoid the CVT and lane watch...
i have a 2013 civic ex automatic. the one thing i've been disappointed in is the MPG. i'm not getting any better MPG than the 2003 civic ex auto that i traded in, even using the econ button 99% of the time and i've even been driving with a much lighter foot while the engine breaks in. i'm a little over 2k miles so far. have you heard any complaints about the 2013 MPG?? i'm getting about 27-30 MPG and about 60-65% of that is city driving.
Hey, I got the 2014 civic ex 4 door. I have been doing 80% city driving and getting 28-30 mpg with the econ button and light foot on. I have 300 miles on mine so far. I think Tue advertised mpg is bull crap.
I have a 2013 Civic LX Sedan. I do about 65% city driving and I average roughly 34-35 MPG, with 80% highway driving I do about 41 MPG and with 80% city driving I get around 30 MPG. Not sure what is going on, but, I just trained myself to use a light foot and take advantage of the Eco-Assist ambient sensors as well as the mpg coaching meter on the right side of the dash. It's worked for me.
chicago had a long, brutal winter and i attribute some of the lower mpg to that and possibly the engine needing to break in a little. since it's been warmer and i now have 6k miles on my car, i've been getting 32-33 mpg and driving with a heavier foot now, so i find this more acceptable. haven't gone on any long road trips to test the full highway mpg. my '03 civic ex got 39+mpg on 2 long roadtrips when it was over 10 yrs old!
Doesn't seem too bad for a generic econobox
To much wind noises
Great video. How much r u guys selling them for?
21880 msrp
For the EX?
That's the EX
I have a Civic EX sedan. My question is, what are the gears S and L for??
The S is the sport mode which allows you to use the paddle shifters to simulate shifted gears with the cvt and the low gear I'm guessing is if your hauling something or If your going through snow
On the EX sedan model, where do you find the shifted gears??
Only the coupe gets pedal shifters
Oh yea that's right
S is like sport mode, it goes into higher rpms when you step on the gas, L is for low gear mode, like if you're stuck in snow, or mud. Eco mode will keep your rpm under 2,000 under normal driving conditions if you're not flooring the gas pedal.
I think u r the first one texting the new cvt trans.
thanks!
whats the difference between the ex and the EX-L??? and does the EX have leather seats?
Yesenia Feliciano the ex-l basically just has leather and bigger rims. The ex does not have leather.
Andres Santana oh I see thanks ...I was doing some research on it cuz I wanna get the 2014 ex-l for my first car
Yesenia Feliciano you should do it! It's a really nice car in fact I was in one today on the freeway and streets and it was so comfortable. You also get a lot of features.
Andres Santana cool!!! I'm saving up for it too... im trying to find a white one with beige leather seats but it's hard to find that one =\ that's the best color on that car lol
Yesenia Feliciano have you checked autotrader.com? They show cars from private sellers, small dealers, to big deslers. It's very helpful and you can choose what color you want as well. I'm saving up for a civic too but I can't get a coupe because I'm a guy and insurance is expensive for guys especially teens.
Hey guys i just bought my 2013 Honda Civic on Sep 4, 2013 yea not long ago and the reason why i didnt buy the 2014 was because of that struggling CVT and i wanted the last Gen 5 Spd auto box, But i'm taking it easy cuz of this do not over rev to high RPMs while its still new, I currently have 255 miles on it and this guy is on a 2014 with possibly less then 10 miles and hes whaling it, So back to my question, This engine break in dont pass 4 to 5k on the tach till you hit 600 miles, Is it worth upholding this rule?, I really want to break the rule but dont want any engine damage in the long run, any advice thanks YT!!
I'm not a mechanic but it makes logical sense to not beat a brand new car up too much in terms of breaking it in. People say that new cars don't need to be broken in, I say that's bs. It's still a machine and the parts still need to be set properly. When I first got my '98 I didn't go over 3000 rpm at all until I had 500 miles on it. I still have the car, it still runs nicely, and I'd like to think that is partly thanks to Honda and partly due to respecting the mechanicals.
Your not suppose to feel the "shift points", that's why it's called a continuously variable transmission (CVT)
Annoying "head" camera...
I cringe every time someone holds down a push button start car 😬
this is apure non enthusiasts car
jay czyzyk no
Dizziness alert!
Automatic transmission? Booooo!
OMG. CVT AGAIN! CVT SUCKS.
ricer
No! Do not buy this car because it is super ugly! It is stupid in general. If you even THINK about buying it, consider the Kia Forte Koup, Hyundai Elantra Coupe, Ford Mustang or Hyundai Genesis Coupe if it's in production.
As a diesel truck/BMW guy, i must say the quality of these new civics is pretty nice
