Keep in mind the CVT that's in the Civic Hybrid is not the same CVT that's in the 2014 Civic lineup. The 2014 Civic lineup has the Earth Dreams CVT and the Civic Hybrid has a non-Earth Dreams CVT.

Looking at getting this car but it seemed like your review wasn't very objective. It was pretty much 100% positive. I want to know all the negative points as well before buying.
I just got my new 2014 Honda Civic (EX) and overall, I like it so far. I traded it for my 2008 Honda Civic. There are some things I prefer in the older model, but it's a good car to own. I like new digital display panel which I'm still getting used to.
I'm thinking of buying a used 2014 Civic Ex with 89K miles. Do you recommend?
Hi @@ahmadadel8259 based on my own experience with the 2014 Civic EX, I would recommend it. In fact, I still have mine and it's still almost in brand new condition. I've not driven it much, so it's got just over 25K kms on it.
In terms of your question, if the Civic you're looking at is in good condition and has been well-maintained, I think it would still be a good buy (of course depending on the price).

Did the CVT transmission cause you any trouble? I've been hearing bad things about the CVT transmission but this is a Honda after all. Should be reliable.
@@ahmadadel8259 Yeah, I would definitely recommend doing a full pre-purchase inspection of the car. As for me, I've not had a single issue with my Civic, other than regular maintenance.
Question... Does the ex trim have an auxiliary audio input, or does it not in favor of the second usb/hdmi?

Also in my exl 2013 when Eco mode is off.. Acceleration is good like what I see in the 2014. Notice you didn't have it on looking closer
I currently own the same model. It's a good commuter car great actually. But if you're looking for it to be fast you better off going with the SI. I'm afraid to beat on it especially with that CVT transmission doesn't feel like it handles a lot of power.

Kitty mows, if your Civic is an EX then it use regular 87 octane gasoline. Only the Civic SI 2.4 use premium. For Emmanuel Gutierrez, go for the Honda Accord for a better ride and power if you don't mind the larger 3-4 MPG different and spend a lot more at the gas pump since it have a larger gas tank.
Does anyone know anything about the beeping sound when you unlock this particular honda ex? Is it supposed to be loud so everyone in the parking lot can hear it? Mine does a very low beeping everytime I unlock my ex honda. From what I've heard by the dealer, all the newer cars don't sound off loud enough to avoid distraction like high exhaust from a passing car let say. Thanks!

I just bought this in the middle of Jan. I got the 2014 Civic EX model and I paid total amount of $19254 with everything included tax+tag+title+freight+processing fee etc etc. Did any one out there got a better deal?

the hybrid has the fcw and lane watch but trust me the lane departure is annoying, I have a accord and I cant stand the ldw so I turn it off all the time lol

I am thinking of buying a Honda Civic 14, but I am still debating on either buying the Honda Civic or the Honda Accord. I want the features of the cameras on the lines and still I want a car that is not a hybrid but has a great MPG.
***** Agreed. The Accord is a big car and is just way to big for my needs also. The Civic is just the right size...small on the outside but quite roomy on the inside. A great color on the Civic is Crimson Pearl. It's like a rich burgundy color and the good thing is you don't see many on the road. Edward did a nice review of 2013 Civic LX sedan in Crimson Pearl last year with some close up shots of the specks in the paint.
patwickgriff lol you know what's funny though the accord 2013 and up is smaller than the previous Gen but this one looks longer. It's also weird because my mom had a 2011 accord and she upgraded to a 2014 accord sport and she loves it it's a great car and it takes her 2 weeks to fill the tank and she drives a 40 mile commute everyday with traffiv

This car was VERY quiet on my test drive. The 3 had more road noise. This is noted in a lot of reviews

I have to disagree with you about the CVT having no lag. I have a 2014 Civic LX and I notice there's lagging feels before it actual get going from a dead stop. This civic does not drive as well as the Honda Accord CVT since it has a smaller displacement vs the 2.4L direct inject engine on the accord. To an average Joe, it drive similar to any car in this segment.
does it come with Beig/Tan interior instead of depresso dark colors?
I think it also comes in yellow and aqua green.

Hi I just bought this car 2014 Honda Civic ex
and I read the owners manual and I'm trying to figure out what gas it needs wether it's 91 or 87 or premium ? It said models with 1.8 L is regular and 2.4 L is premium can someone help me please .

It recommends 87 octane or higher, but I sincerely doubt 91 octane makes any real difference. The only benefit to using 91, would be that they're isn't as much ethanol in it as 87/89.

I own the same car but i feel like its has 0 to almost no torque such a pewnie car😭 you defined have to change ALOT of parts to make this car race ready
I don't understand why Honda doesn't take the digital speedometer and allow you to switch it to a digital analog style gauge or have both analog and digital in the car. I do not care for the digital gauge and since 2006 have no interest in a civic because of that.
***** Corvette's have that option in them. There are people who won't like digital, why not give a digital screen that can switch between a Digital # display & while still displaying in digital you can have the analog look like almost all cars have.
such a cool car but i just wouldn't buy a car with a CVT. it's too much god damn maintenance and too much margin for errors. i dont think it's worth the extra like 3-4 mpg.

oh got Honda CVT transmission is a piece of crap. The hold Honda Civic Hybrid uses it and gives a lot of trouble at 70,000 miles and it will cost $4500 to have it replaced.
+Uhsen Li Ooo sorta late reply, But if you dont maintain it just like engine oil, that thing you do every 3-4k mi, Its going to crap out on you, Ever heard of CVT Fluid or Transmission fluid same as the engine but this will be trans oil change, you have to replace it every 30k mi but i would do it every 20k mi, keeps it from crapping out on you at 70k mi!!!

My 2012 Jeep Patriot has the CVT, It SUCKS! It definitely lags when I need to heavy accelerate! I will never own another Jeep,Dodge or Chrysler again.

Why do they never color the interior on the civics except the si. It isnt that expensive to just color the inside like red and black or light brown. Cmon why does it have to be ugly ass gray.
I have a brand new 2014 Honda Civic Coupe. Here is what sucks ....
1) Anything Bluetooth - Horrible sound
2) USB does not work
3) Speakers suck
4) CVT Transmission sucks
5) Dealership sucks

this car is so ugly and the design is so dated, this car looks the same as it did in 2000, Honda hasn't looked good since the 90s Honda sucks now they are the only car maker that don't understand that when redesigning a car you should make it look different
