    Try build a long enough troff so you can pour it in it then roll the trap around slow til it's coated how you like. Enjoy the videos from Brunswick Georgia.

      If I had to build many of them I would. May do a trough dipping vat build in a video later

    If you take a 55gal wide mouth lid .cut it long ways all the way around.and glue the top parts together glue inside and out. In the bottom of the barrels facing outward. Are you doing next . Poor your chemicals in there and roll your catfish trap around and around and you rarely use any chemicals you can soak them and just roll your catfish trap around and around a lot easier than pouring. And a lot cleaner too. Good luck my friend this is your friend Ray from Foley Alabama. Give me the shot tell me what you think. All you need is 1. 55 gallon barrel . It will be your best investment you ever made cuz after that it'll be easy dip in your catfish traps.you can do your small hoop nets that way you just need more barrels.you would have to cut the in side of the bottom for the center pieces you'll save a lot of dip . For your nuts

      Thanks for adding this. Works great, I've seen it. Maybe in a future video I make a dipping vat..This tip may help some people out and I should have suggested it in the video. I was only dipping this one, because I normally don't make my own wire nets. Would be a good idea for me to make a vat for myself anyways though because your right. It works good on hoop nets too. I've seen them, I just never took time to make one. Def way to go on wire nets. Thanks

    Put net a big good trash bag and pour your dip in the bag, twist the top of trash bag and shake that sumbich up!

    Question I had but think you summed it up on the end. I was wondering if any of the chemicals would effect the fish coming to it. But you said 5 days, that’s like a minimum? I can’t wait to see this net hit the water. I’ve been itching to build me one since I seen you constructing it !
    I have no bad feelings toward Oakley, acting crazy silly after getting high like that. I pretty much act the same except the running part, personally I just hit the ground like I’m scratching my back. Lol.
    Enjoyed your videos …….. AGAIN!

      Lol, she just keeping us on our toes. My experience, a freshly dipped net may not catch as well first day or two in water. After that, I can't tell much effect. Now dipping nets annually to me, if used a lot seem to make them catch better. That said, keep it thin so you don't get twine twice normal diameter🤣

      I’ll for sure keep that in mind. The place I’ll be fishing it at sees no pressure at all, not even a hook unless I go down there. Problem with my disability I don’t get after it hard like I use to do the net will make it easier to keep me some fish on hand.

      @kennethvaughan8195 control amount of fish you want with amount of bait. If you can't handle a big load, don't start off with lots of bait😉

      Yea. Couple years ago an old high school buddy ask if I wanted some fish. He dropped them off and left curiously fast. Got out there and when I got to the last fish it was 73 of them things !!!! Man I live by myself. Lol. Didn’t need that many but I know what it was. He just didn’t want to clean them. 😡. Lol

    On the wire Part on that. Do they make a thinner gauge wire on the concrete wire or is it one size cause that stuff is hard to connect at the seam

    • @godscountryhuntingfishing1638
      @godscountryhuntingfishing1638  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The one I made is out of Cattle panel in this one. Concrete wire is much smaller. It's easy to bend and twist around each other. You won't have to weld concrete wire. I should have mentioned that in this video. Most of these nets are concrete wire and they do catch. I just wanted a heavy duty one to see how it holds up. Just remember to check state regs on wire square size

      It has impurities in it. The tar isn't very clean, so I think that stuff would Def plug one up

    I can’t say I’ve ever dipped a net before and not trying to knock your technique by no means. Would it possibly be a little easier buying one of those cheap Dollar General natural fiber mops that are made onto a wooden handle. Not a big janitor style mop but a small one. Cut the wooden handle down to about a foot long or less and dunk that into your dip and with your net laying at an angle, just let it slow roll across the mesh? With the dip being as thin as it is I would imagine you can soak up a bunch in the mop and keep you from bending down 200 times to scoop. When your done, put the mop, handle and all in the 5 gallon bucket to store with the rest of the unused batch for the next time. Just a lazy man’s thinking here. Kinda like putting the mop sauce on a whole hog that you’re cooking on a fire pit. (More fat boy talk)😂

      I knew before the end this was straight from a BBQers mind🤣🤣. Easiest way is like a previous suggestion. Split a 55 gallon drum and just roll the nets in it. I'd have to weld two together for a net that long, and it would take more dip also. Just didn't have time, but I might build a dipping vat for a future video

    • @AdrenalineTurkeyCall
      @AdrenalineTurkeyCall 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 would you have to split it and weld the two halves end to end to make the trough long enough to fit the nets down in?

    • @mudweimer768
      @mudweimer768 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Easiest would probably be to find a soft material that won’t react with gas and make a shallow trough with it maybe some old rubber roofing! I’ve dipped things like this with contractors plastic a few times but think the gas would eat that

    • @godscountryhuntingfishing1638
      @godscountryhuntingfishing1638  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @AdrenalineTurkeyCall split a barrel, then weld the halves end to end. Cut out the center section for wire nets that big. One half a barrel will work on hoop nets

    • @godscountryhuntingfishing1638
      @godscountryhuntingfishing1638  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @mudweimer768 metal 55 gallon drums work good. I've seen a few vats. The tar dip coats the metal and dries, so it don't rust.
