      Athletic trainers do most of the first line care. if he needed sutures that would be the team doc, but pretty much everything you see on the sideline is done by the athletic trainers ( and a lot of the locker room stuff too)

  • @NP-nc2kh
    @NP-nc2kh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +34

    Hey Doc, some sports analysts get paid millions to talk about the same thing everyday. I think ESPN needs to sign you on a 4 year $4 million deal to speak about injuries and other athlete health related topics part time. I would rather see people getting paid for actual content and not the analysts talking about the Lakers, LeBron v.s. Jordan topics everyday.

    • @GardenGuy1943
      @GardenGuy1943 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think a 4yr 40k deal is much more reasonable. More $ should go to actual professionals like SAS

    • @brockjensen2473
      @brockjensen2473 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I doubt he would take that tbh. The problem is working for those companies they don’t let you do your thing. They would force him to report on topics, they wouldn’t let him speak freely, and people can’t understand Dr. Sutterer is sharing a professional opinion. Everyone watching ESPN only do so to turn around and clown them when their OPINION was wrong.

    • @holidayarmadillo8653
      @holidayarmadillo8653 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not saying it’s impossible. By any stretch. But That’s a lot easier said than done. Really, as of now, it’s entirely a pie-in-the-sky idea.
      Do You really think ESPN is gonna hand anyone 4 million dollars to do medical analysis of injuries? Don’t consider this by what you personally find interesting, consider what the wider general population finds interesting.
      Probably a majority of people do not care enough to try to understand this stuff especially at the level of complexity that the Doc provides for us.
      It’s not about what’s “valuable” or what “provides the greatest good” btw. I understand the merit of your idea. I personally think what the Doc is doing is fucking fantastic and I love him for making these efforts and I’m very happy to see his TH-cam channel continue to get bigger and more successful and bring in revenue for him. He TOTALLY deserves it and more.
      But ESPN itself is a money-whore and a goliath company. To them what matters is how many eyeballs will watch this and continue to watch this (and In so doing, generate money for ESPN). So the only way they would consider what you’re saying would probably b if the Doc was an undeniable presence in sports media on the internet.
      For example if he had something like 3-5-10 million subscribers and pulled millions and millions of views per video then you’d be onto something. And Perhaps the Doc will reach those numbers down the road! It depends on the consumer really to find him and follow him because he will continue to put out quality content is my guess. So The sky’s the limit for the Doc if he keeps on trucking. And he has already seen tremendous and prodigious growth so far in his journey. I think he is absolutely top-tier.
      But, In a nutshell, this is still a niche for now. A niche that-while fascinating and valuable and quality to a high degree-is not mainstream and thus won’t make ESPN a shit ton of money-lol and that’s what they’re interested in.
      But Let’s see where things go from here. For the record I’d love to see it happen. But give the Doc some more time to grow before you really consider that as a realistic idea.

      ESPN world never offer that. Doc is too analytical and presents things with logic. If you aren't famous or a former athlete, ESPN just wants you to be emotional and come up with crazy takes. Or suck up to LeBron

    this is a very accurate analysis.. I remember I got sucker punched on my right eye by a shorter man. All I remember was my eyebrow burst and I started bleeding out non stop .. the cut was so open I thought I got cut with a blade.. but this doc got it right. We do have a very sharp eye socket bone.. I was able to see my bone and unable to get it stitched.. it's going to leave a nasty scar on Giannis but that's a battle scar he can speeak about to his children
