Steven's dislike of cream cheese (except when he doesn't see it) reminds me of my dad who was deathly allergic to onions unless he couldn't see them in the food.
Your dad sounded like my mom! Hopefully not as bad, though. When I was a teenager, my younger sister and I decided to find out whether our mom was allergic to onions or not. (She claimed that they gave her intense indigestion.) We made the potato salad for supper but didn't add any chopped onions. (For some reason, chopping onions never made me cry but Mom and Susanne would have to leave the kitchen. That's how we got away with this.) We apologized to Mom during supper, saying that I forgot and added onion, even though I hadn't. Mom was sick all night. A couple of weeks later, Susanne and I made another potato salad. This time, I added finely chopped onion but told Mom we remember how sick she'd been the last time. Needless to say, Mom had a great night's sleep with no stomach trouble. To the day she died, Mom turned the experiment to her advantage!!

Growing up we had onions in nearly every meal...cheap filler food. Hubby hates the texture of onions...seriously, the man will spend hours picking the tiny dehydrated onions out of Ragu spaghetti sauce!!! So I make our spaghetti sauce from scratch and use onion powder. Anything that calls for onion, I put in onion powder. Married 30 years and he loves my cooking...I can even actually put onions in our meals now. If they're too big, he picks them out, no fuss...but in soups & stuff he just eats them. YAY...only took about 25 years to train him.

LOLOL! My hubby does not like tomatoes. No matter how big the pieces of tomato were in any dish he would not eat said dish. I always said eat around them or pick them out but that just did not work for him. For a few years my mom would have Easter Breakfast for the little country church she attended and she invited us kids and our families too. Her big thing was a Breakfast Casserole WHICH included tomatoes. My husband ate it up every time so I did not say anything. About the third year he finally mentioned how good it was and how much he LOVED the red peppers. I busted out laughing. I could not keep it a secret any longer. I told him they were tomatoes and he thought I was kidding so I had to have mom tell him the ingredients. 😂 I told him, “Guess you like tomatoes more than you thought!” Now, he still will not eat large chunks but he will eat around them or pick them out. If they are in something and are small enough he will eat them!😂
I used to take rolls of crescent dough and place one role in the bottom of a 9×13 pan, and I put ground venison, kids with Prego spaghetti sauce, and poured that over the crust, sprinkled cheddar cheese and covered it with another roll of crescent dough. I had to pinch the pieces together, to make a solid rectangle, but it was very close to this recipe, and my family loved it!

Isn't that the truth?! My ex constantly compared my cooking to his mother's---she was southern born and bred, learned to cook from her older sisters--and while she was a great cook, I took her recipes and amped them up hugely. Husband stopped comparing us when he made the mistake of telling his mother "You should taste what Wife does with your baked chicken lasagna!" Not the brightest bulb in a mixed package.

I love Gracie! Ive never seen a cat obsessed with cheese before! I thought i had been depriving my two cats......so i offered some cheddar to them....they both sniffed it and walked away! The creamy chicken taco soup I've made for a long time...its a favorite of ours. Instead of taco seasoning we use chili powder and cumin along with the ranch. We don't drain the corn. My daughter's favorite and everyone asks for the recipe :) steven come over to the dark side for the cream cheese lol. Love you guys :)

Looks good! Yes fresh cilantro would have been great! I love cilantro, I put it in almost everything. Yet it doesn't stay fresh long enough, so what I do is, I chop it up (after I rinse and spin dry it of course) and I fill ice trays about 3/4 of the way full (press down), add just a bit of water and freeze, when frozen, I pop them out and store in freezer bags. Then I can add to any dish I may be cooking!

On another video a lady commented about the Scooters… my husband hates anything generic… well, what he don’t know won’t hurt him 😆 I put Aldi brand grape jelly in smuckers jars, and anything else generic I buy I either don’t let him see it or put it in another container!😂 He still doesn’t know, 12 years and counting! And, I’m originally from Texas, where we have seafood bolls, or bowls, definitely not boy-ells 😆😆 Where did you get that cutting board we see in all the videos? The striped wooden one, it’s GORGEOUS!
you knocked it out of the park this week. Can’t wait to try every recipe. It has been cold and wet here and I definitely need some warming up . I fry my corn tortillas up and make strips for the tortilla strips. It makes it so good.
You may already know this but if you roll the bunch of cilantro in some paper towels and place in ziploc bag in the fridge, it lasts a lot longer. I use cilantro all the time and this really works. I’m a new subscriber from NC. I eat a low carb diet but I still enjoy watching all of your videos. You 2 are so precious.
Mandy, I honestly think you used a good approach by using ( only) 4-oz instead of 8-oz that the Chicken Taco soup called for. Seems like 8-oz would have been a bit to much. Glad Steven enjoyed the soup with 4-oz. Of cream cheese. Job well done young lady. Have a great weekend y’all.

Wash and dry your cilantro, chop it up and stick it in a zip lock bag, very flattened out. When it's frozen, crack it into pieces. You can use those pieces as you would use fresh cilantro. It never goes to waste!!!
Mandy, try This , a jar of peanut butter and whipped top of frosting , Put each in .microwave 1 minutes , a square pan and be sure to put wax papers wide enough. Stir until smooth put in fridge for 2 hours after that take out cut into squares my husband LOVE it
I snip the stems of my cilantro and parsley and put them in a mason jar filled about 1/4 with water and tent it with a produce bag. The last forever that way stored in the refrigerator

My husband and I just had a wood cook stove installed and actually fired it up today....sooo I’m going to make the creamy taco soup and let it simmer on my new stove all afternoon. I make my own pizza crust and sauce but I’m going to try your sauce. I make our pizzas in a large cast iron skillet. You should really try that sometime, it makes a delicious pizza. Just remember to put your skillet in the oven when you preheat then take it out when it’s preheated and put your dough in and form it around. I believe you and the fellas will love it!

I love the rice cooked in the oven. Has anyone else noticed that cooking regular rice on the stove top just doesn't work for them any more? I've been cooking for 50 years and can't cook plain white rice any more. It will not get soft even if cooked over an hour..slow, fast, covered, uncovered, just will not get soft and fluffy. I'm wondering if it's the water here in the northeast..maybe I should try it with bottled water?

The creamy chicken taco soup I've made for a long time...its a favorite of ours. Instead of taco seasoning we use chili powder and cumin along with the ranch. We don't drain the corn. My daughter's favorite and everyone asks for the recipe :) steven come over to the dark side for the cream cheese lol. Love you guys :)

Looks good! Yes fresh cilantro would have been great! I love cilantro, I put it in almost everything. Yet it doesn't stay fresh long enough, so what I do is, I chop it up (after I rinse and spin dry it of course) and I fill ice trays about 3/4 of the way full (press down), add just a bit of water and freeze, when frozen, I pop them out and store in freezer bags. Then I can add to any dish I may be cooking!

On another video a lady commented about the Scooters… my husband hates anything generic… well, what he don’t know won’t hurt him 😆 I put Aldi brand grape jelly in smuckers jars, and anything else generic I buy I either don’t let him see it or put it in another container!😂 He still doesn’t know, 12 years and counting! And, I’m originally from Texas, where we have seafood bolls, or bowls, definitely not boy-ells 😆😆 Where did you get that cutting board we see in all the videos? The striped wooden one, it’s GORGEOUS!
you knocked it out of the park this week. Can’t wait to try every recipe. It has been cold and wet here and I definitely need some warming up . I fry my corn tortillas up and make strips for the tortilla strips. It makes it so good.
You may already know this but if you roll the bunch of cilantro in some paper towels and place in ziploc bag in the fridge, it lasts a lot longer. I use cilantro all the time and this really works. I’m a new subscriber from NC. I eat a low carb diet but I still enjoy watching all of your videos. You 2 are so precious.

Mandy, I honestly think you used a good approach by using ( only) 4-oz instead of 8-oz that the Chicken Taco soup called for. Seems like 8-oz would have been a bit to much. Glad Steven enjoyed the soup with 4-oz. Of cream cheese. Job well done young lady. Have a great weekend y’all.

Wash and dry your cilantro, chop it up and stick it in a zip lock bag, very flattened out. When it's frozen, crack it into pieces. You can use those pieces as you would use fresh cilantro. It never goes to waste!!!

This , a jar of peanut butter and whipped top of frosting , Put each in .microwave 1 minutes , a square pan
and be sure to put wax papers wide enough. Stir until smooth put in fridge for 2 hours after that take out cut into squares my husband

I snip the stems of my cilantro and parsley and put them in a mason jar filled about 1/4 with water and tent it with a produce bag. The last forever that way stored in the refrigerator

My husband and I just had a wood cook stove installed and actually fired it up today....sooo I’m going to make the creamy taco soup and let it simmer on my new stove all afternoon. I make my own pizza crust and sauce but I’m going to try your sauce. I make our pizzas in a large cast iron skillet. You should really try that sometime, it makes a delicious pizza. Just remember to put your skillet in the oven when you preheat then take it out when it’s preheated and put your dough in and form it around. I believe you and the fellas will love it!

I love the rice cooked in the oven. Has anyone else noticed that cooking regular rice on the stove top just doesn't work for them any more? I've been cooking for 50 years and can't cook plain white rice any more. It will not get soft even if cooked over an hour..slow, fast, covered, uncovered, just will not get soft and fluffy. I'm wondering if it's the water here in the northeast..maybe I should try it with bottled water?
