    Paul, Can't thank you enough for this video. What saved my butt was the one comment you mentioned regarding the 'clip' that locks/unlocks the lamp fixture. Before watching your video I was frustrated beyond measure trying blindly' to locate that ;'guillotine' clip. Your mention that the simple way to locate it is to bring your hand over to the interior of the sheet metal fender, slide your hand an inch toward the interior and voila! there it is. So freaking simple-saved soooo much time and frustration. Thanks my friend!!

      Wow Jaime, you remind me of myself. I bought my first car when I was 15 with my brother and we had to tow it home. It locked up on someone and they sold it for $100. It was a 1972 Dodge Challenger that needed fenders, a Door and to get running lol. My brother and I took the spark plugs out and put oil on the pistons. When I got out of school the next day we used a breaker bar to turn the crank. It moved so we spun the motor with the starter until the oil came out of the spark plug holes. We put the warranty spark plugs on and started it up. We bought all the body parts from a junkyard and I had a friend that painted in his garage. He did an awesome job and I wish I had that car now.! Not enough people take the time to learn, I glad to see you have the drive!

    Another great video. Just a side note on working with all the Tupperware on today's vehicles. I prefer to do it on a warm day rather than a cold one to reduce the chance of snapping any of the plastic stuff.
    You popped the first pin at like 0:1:27, at 0:8:22, you pulled the cable mount off the driver headlamp assembly, making it free of the vehicle, so I'm calling it 0:6:55. If you hadn't commented, sure, it would be 3 minutes and change.

    Great how to video!
    Technically dielectric grease does not conduct electricity, so it shouldn’t be applied directly to the mating surfaces (pins and sockets) of an electrical connection. It meant more for the surrounding connector to prevent moisture from entering the connector.

    Is there anyway to adjust how the lights sit into the frame? I got it all done works great but the seam between the headlight and body of the truck is not tight like it is with the stock lights. Im sure its mostly the lights not being sized 100% correct but just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a step to help adjust them more and get a better fit. Awesome video easy to follow and great extra tips. Ill be sure to subscribe and watch in the future!! 👍🏻

    • @paulstoolbox
      @paulstoolbox  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Michael, you may not have seated the tabs on the back of the light in the hole that is on the truck. Sometimes you have to play with it to long it up. I had trouble with one a while back, I took it back out and looked at the back of the light to see exact how it fit. I think the aftermarket lights may sometimes be a little different.

      Hey Jess, I grab the two sides like in the video. I will wiggle it sometimes to loosen it up a little bit if it is stuck and try to pull it straight out. if that doesn’t work, you can spray some WD-40 or other type of lubricant from the back window into the spot where that Gromit is, you can see it from my video and picture where it is. Sometimes that will loosen it up because the plastic gets dirty and old and sometimes sticks. It always comes out though. Have a great weekend, my friend!

      Your local AutoZone or auto parts store should be able to order a pigtail for your truck to replace it. You can also Google front or rear blinker pigtail for your 2014 Laramie. I have purchased them in the past for other vehicles, so I think you should be able to find one fairly easily. I hope this helps and good luck.!

      Hi Duane, if you take your headlight out and blow dry it, I sometimes take a sock with rice and put it in the hole of the lens and let it sit for a while, a day or so. Take clear silicone and run it along the entire seem of the backside. That usually does it. I have never had that problem with Spyder lights that’s why I went to them after I had to fix other ones. I will see that Spyder does not give you very good instructions at all but as far as the quality of the lights I am very happy. I have a follow up video on how to easily fix lights when your lights burn out often. I see this a lot of times when people replace the headlights or the bulbs. If you have any questions please send them to Paul’s toolbox.com, I will do my best to answer. Thanks!

    Hey Paul! What do you suggest to use as a sealant to stop any moisture from getting in and how would you use it?

      You'd think that they would build them to be water tight, wouldn't you?
      But my OEM lights leaked and filled up with water. Well, not full, but a lot of water. I dried them and sealed them around the edge with silicone caulk.
      It probably wouldn't hurt to caulk the new ones to prevent them from leaking in the future.
      I'm replacing my original faded lights now and that's what I plan on doing.
