Triumph is my favorite manufacturer but always seemed out of my price range. This video just convinced me to go for the triumph speed 400! Big thanks to Chase and team!🤘
I picked one up about a month ago (U.S.) and it is absolutely delightful. I wanted something for those spur-of-the-moment "go for a ride" days where I didn't want to haul out my Tiger Explorer or Guzzi V85TT. It's nearly ready for its initial service, so I will be able to let it out a bit. FWIW, I've been riding since 1961. The seat, however, is a 100 mile seat. I did a bit over 200 yesterday and my butt was NOT amused. Much bang for few bucks.
I live in Boston, Mass. I'm considering a Triumph Speed 400 or Honda CB650R with e-clutch. The riding will be occasional home & work. I guess it would be wise to choose the Speed 400.
I'm taking delivery of a red Speed 400 next week. Beginner bike? Hardly. I've been riding for over 40 years, and this one will meet my needs perfectly.
I’m not beginner either and you’ve been riding longer than I have, but this definitely is in the realm of bikes that can appeal to a newer rider. I’ve been riding 12 years and I had a blast, but everyone does like different riding styles and different machines. Hope you’ve been riding that Carnival Red Speed! Lmk what you think of it so far.
OC: I've rode in several different countries outside of my native Australia. From New Zealand, Japan, England, Scotland, France, Germany, Spain and ofc the US now. Funny enough of all of them the US has the worst cagers on the roads.
@@Armed_Yamaha Stateside it would be tail of the dragon. But easily some of my favourite roads are touge mountain roads in Japan. Especially some of the narrow death traps of Saitama.
@@leeinwisI disagree, I road this bike recently and felt it was very happy at highway speeds and it had a similar seating position and rider triangle to my Bonneville. Sure, it's a little under geared for 80-90 but it will get the job done. On a side note, everyone likes to shit on these light weight small displacement bikes but they are actually a blast. If my collection wasn't already pretty large I would totally add a Scrambler X. Currently own a 2022 Bonneville T100, 2022 Tiger 660 Sport, 2023 Tiger 900 Rally Pro and 3x 1991 Honda CBR250RR MC22 which is the ultimate small bike.
Man I REALLY wish that Triumph had released these two years ago. I absolutely LOVE the look of the Speed 400, but at this point it would be a downgrade in power, which is the opposite of what I am looking for right now. Thinking about a Tiger Sport 660, but would love something in that size with this style. The Speed Twin 900 would be a nice power upgrade for me, but I just don't dig the look of it.
I rode the speed 900 this past weekend and it was honestly one of the best sounding stock bikes I’ve heard! Cant go wrong with any of these, I’d say pick which one best suits your riding style. But 5K for the speed isn’t bad at all!
That can be a very hard thing to pin down. On our live show over on LiveOnTwoWheels we do a fun game called Path To Upgrade in which Chase and I work with our Producer Ghost to try to give folks our opinions on their next three bikes. i think figuring out someones Second Bike can be very difficult without knowing what kind of riding someone is doing or what they do or dont like about their first bike. But I am happy to discuss how we could try to nail that down! Patty-Rick
My 2024 Triumph Speed 400 would not start the first day that i got it. Got it to the shop and they i guess fixed it and now it is doing it all over again and it is back in the shop again. I made a video of what it is doing on my channel. I would turn the key to start and and got nothing, i would then turn it off and turn it back on and it would fire right up. It does this ALL THE TIME!!
Welcome to britsh cars/ motorcycles its nit British if it's not reliable, very fun motorcycles and cars , Aston Martin etc etc but horrible in reliability
I’ll have to get Chase to report back on this one! I think I did around 90 and still had room to go. Didn’t get enough room to redline at the top speed 😅
Those are some sweet commuter machines, I just wish that it was the Chinese building them they know how to knock down prices on just about anything. But at $5000 with taxes it will cost $10000 in Uganda so there's no chance of me ever one fingering it like you just did but still a delight to watch.👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nobody is saying these are only for beginners, but they’re definitely more appealing to the beginner crowd, everyone has different styles of riding and levels of experience. I’ve been riding 12 years, so you’ve definitely been riding longer than I have, but with all the racing and track days I’ve done, I would absolutely buy one of these because it’s a great time. CC’s don’t matter, it’s about the ride.

🫶🏼 thank you! Honestly so exciting to see people really enjoy it. Hope to see you drop a pic of it in the discord!

I own a Speed 400 and I feel satisfied! Beautiful machine!!!! 😁🍀
The red speed 400 is honestly one of the nicest looking Lerner/comuter bike
It also looks good in blue.

OC: I miss Spain. Wonderful weather, amazing roads, great food and wine. Glad you had fun out there Dooley!
Thanks so much! I miss it already 😂
Can’t wait to show yall what’s next!
OC. I had the pleasure of riding a bike in Portugal on vacation last year. Such a cool experience
That’s awesome! Hands down, one of the best experiences I’ve been on.
Enjoyed the video and comments. Anxious to get my Scrambler in Lower Alabama
Hope you get one soon! Let us know how you end up liking it 😊
Have been enjoying this bike in a big way.
OC: Haven't done it yet but would love to do it up in Canada in BC or over in Europe for sure on a tour.
Awesome video !
your beginner motorcycle is my premium bike :(

Traffic in Atlanta is awful lol. What’s been your favorite ride thus far?

Did you detect any difference between bikes for gearing. Is one geared taller?
I saw the X has +1 up front and -1 rear (didn’t see anything for gearing but sprocket).
Nice review, much appreciated
The guards in India are mandated by law. Hoping to take delivery of my red Speed 400 this month. Thanks for the video.
Do you think you can highway cruise at 75 to 80 MPH?
Yes
@@DakodaNeilson but comfortably..no , the bike can but you'll be miserable lol .

@leeinwis correct. I've heard it doesn't like going above 60.

The Trident ?
So is this better or worse than the Honda SCL 500?
Slipper clutch? How close are the gears?
Please do a first ride on the 2024 zx6r
Everyone does best first bike videos, how about a best second bike video?

That’s fantastic 😊🎉❤
I like them too but for 40hp they are to small from what I´ve seen in so many videos.
I'm 6'2" and the 400 Scrambler was easily large enough to be comfortable

Got the same problem. Check engine light right out the door. They said immobilizer was the problem. I am sure that is your problem as well
What is the top speed?

I've been upto 155 kmph and there still was room!
They are not "beginner bikes" they are *small capacity bikes* and are very popular in a lots of Asian countries.
Looks like it came out the Royal Enfield factory to me.
Nope, Bajaj.
I laugh every time someone calls a speed 400 a Beginner motorcycle! Ha!
Made in India
So? KTM BMW and RE are all assembled in India.
@@NoFrictionZone so ?
Thank Bajaj Motorcycles India for the incredible price.

Glad you enjoyed the video!
Beginner motorcycles? Behave with that condescending bullshit.
I’ve been riding 24 years and I’d love the Triumph Speed.
