Nhi Tran yep! From what I understand, they can choose where to place them (so how many there are) as well as if you can skip them after the 5 seconds; but that they do not know what the ad will be about. I like it too, especially as Hannah places them so they’re not directly in the middle of her sentence, lol.
FYI Hannah, I haven’t had any ads for the last few videos. I want to support you by watching them but at present there are no ads during your videos. XXX Edit: I love Sarah Hubler’s declutter videos. It’s nice to know you’re a fan too.
I always wonder why I watch your lip declutters because I don't even wear lipstick. ("She doesn't even GO here!") But I think it's because you do something that I don't see very many (if anyone else) doing: you go through your declutter and then do one last quick swatch against what you decided to keep. That last run through is sooooo satisfying and I always wonder why more people don't do that. Do they not see they kept 5 of the same color? Make it a double elimination grudge match! I had to laugh though when you talk about lip balms. My lip balms are your lipsticks. To be fair I have a neurological issue I'm working through (hopefully it's not permanent) but my balms are utilitarian and sensory. My lips get SO chapped because I can't feel them when I'm eating so I eat with a napkin in one hand and wipe after each bite. And balms will work great for a period of time and then hit like a critical mass where it starts to feel weird and I have to switch to a different formula. It's so bizarre. I hope this clears up, I will have a GLORIOUS lip balm declutter when that happens, to be sure!
Great job with the declutter. ( I love Sarah Hubler's declutter videos, too.) I appreciate how they are organized. I admit sometimes they actually make me want to find or consider purchasing certain colors after seeing them swatched.
I was just casually watching this while getting ready, expecting nothing more than some light entertainment and background noise. So I was caught off guard when I saw Very Victoria because I think I’ve found the gorgeous cool toned nude I’ve been looking for. Very Victoria looks like it ticks all my boxes and I’ve been dying to try Charlotte Tilbury’s formula! Both of my current nude lipsticks are tiny little nubs so I’ve been on the hunt to find something different so now I’m incredibly excited to go out and try these because it’s perfect timing! I’m so thankful that I found your channel as the inspiration and motivation to be a more mindful consumer. I work at Ulta at the Benefit Brow Bar so I’m surrounded by temptation, pressure, and expectation regarding purchases, product knowledge, and others trivializing the impact of spending so I really needed to start evaluating my purchases and being ruthless in my decision making. I just needed a push and your no buy year successfully made me stop to think about my relationship with cosmetics and beauty, specifically while working in the industry, and it was a much appreciated wake up call. So, long, rambly story short, thank you for your content!
I'm actually considering getting the very Victoria colour for my wedding day! I've always wanted to try Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks, for years, and I thought what better occasion to splurge on an expensive lipstick for ;) the colour looks perfect!
I so look forward to these longer videos. I find these declutter + swatch videos to be particularly soothing + enjoyable. Something about watching a process of elimination, a ranking, a pairing down, decisions being made and objects (specifically makeup thingies) be organized is very calming and gives ME a sense of control and coolness even though I'm not the one doing it lol. Thank you + love your channel so much!
It’s funny, as a creator, I didn’t realize I even had the option to add middle of the video ad breaks when I wanted them. LOL guess I should pay more attention to the creator tools. I love how you’re doing ad breaks.
I love how articulate you are with your thoughts as to why or why not keeping something. We have very similar tastes when it comes to lipstick so this was like having a conversation with a friend about my thoughts on lipstick.
Saved this video for when I had time to sit down and enjoy it- decluttered a few lip colors myself and made a mini dupe quad for the new lime crime palette and feeling pretty dang good about it
This definitely inspired me to start my declutter process. I put 4 palettes and 5 lip products in my personal makeup purgatory. I already feel a weird sense of relief about it. Completely unrelated, but I was watching your “check in” play list last night while thinking of a potential upcoming low buy for myself, and I noticed September and October of last year were missing (from the playlist not the channel as a whole). September was the check in from last year that spoke to me the most so I Figured I’d let you to know 😁
Now that is the perfect declutter. It drives me crazy when people declutter and keep so many lipsticks that are essentially the same and still keep a hundred lipsticks or more which is simply an insane amount for one person. I have recently swatched my lipsticks to try to see what genuine gaps I have that are worthy of filling... and the answer is I really am pretty set. I don't own pinks, blue toned reds, berries or cool toned nudes - and that doesn't need to be filled as they don't suit me. There are some categories that frankly I could do with whittling down as I have too many already (red especially). I even photographed my swatches in am attempt to create a reference point for me to look at when shopping to avoid purchasing near dupes. I shamefully even have a literal dupe in my collection, i.e. two of exactly the same lipstick because I forgot I owned it. I do love the colour in question, but I have enough lipsticks I am not in danger of panning any. It's a journey but I am learning from you Hannah, so thanks for the inspiration x
i love watching these videos to see how much someone else's preferences differ from mine. you talking about not needing as many lip balms was so funny to me because i am obsessed with them, and, no joke, i have at least 10 floating around my apartment now (and that's not including ones in my coat pockets, purse, and backpack). i do agree with you on the burt's bees pomegranate one, though -- over the years i think i've been gifted almost all of the flavors the brand makes and that's one of my favorites!!
You did an amazing job. I love going through your thought process with you. Your collection is so perfect. Not too much that you don't even know what you have, but not too little to where you feel like you are missing necessities. It's just right👌
I really enjoyed this video. I am sick with a cold/flu at the moment and all those beautiful swatches made my day a little more beautiful. It was so relaxing to see you so sure of you’re products. I feel like decluttering is so much harder for me I have the tendency to want to keep them all and it’s never realistic. You’re declutter has me ready to start in my lip products declutter when I feel better. Man I have wanted a Charlotte tilbury lipstick so bad but they are so much money for this mom of 4. But they are so beautiful. Thanks Hannah for sharing with us. Have a beautiful blessed day...😊💕💕💕
Love this video Hannah, and you realy did your best to get your lipstickcollection smaller, you did a fabulous job to give so many lipproducts away,to friends and family and woman shelters. And your own stash is now so nice and neat, you can see all products that you own,and where you have storaged them,in one eyelook, xoxo wendy❤️
Cant believe you decluttered the charlotte tilbury lipsticks! I have been stalking them for sooo long. Now after seeing the swatches I’m thinking of looking at poshmark to purchase preowned ones since they are easy to disinfect. Great declutter!
This is the first video of your channel I watched and I love how relaxed you are and I love your view of make up. Also we have really similar taste in lipsticks! I immediately subbed :)
I think that I could only handle a 40 min lip declutter from you, your voice is so very soothing to me. I ALMOST bought very Victoria in the VIB sale but didn’t “buy the bullet” 😏❤️
Have to say I went straight to Sephora and searched for the bite color (the rust color) and could not find it! Such a beautiful color! You have intrigued me with the maybeline brown color it also looks beautiful! The rust and orange side of your collection would’ve been hard for me with your collection, I feel like you have such a great range of orange and rust colors. I would’ve kept the entire half up to the bright orange! London is also one of my favorites, a similarly unique shade is MAC naturally transformed. Whenever you are in the market for a yellow based brown. ❤️
Wow, you have such discipline. I've watched your video from the start, and am on a no buy this year. Not sure if I've ever commented before, I don't often comment on videos, but you are so inspiring Hannah. I've kept a record of what I've used up and its over 360 items - which shocks me (in the categories of bodycare, skincare, candles and makeup). I enjoy your videos, esp when you swatch color categories. I didn't comment on your lippie reckoning (video before this), but noticed your slender arm goes on for miles! You get so many swatches on there...(so jealous at 5'4" w/out long limbs)! Loved this declutter! Thanks! :D
Christine Williams Me too! I’ve heard they’re very similar to the Bare Minerals liquid lipsticks, which is one of my absolute favorite formulas! From what I’ve heard and seen, they have a similar mousse-y, whipped lusciousness. Just thought I’d chime in so if you wanted to get a feel for the Em Cosmetics formula without any commitment since they’re online only, you could always try the Bare Minerals ones in a store and play around with them❤️
I love watching your declutters Hannah and gosh that UD Vice gloss looks amazing on you! Because they change colour and becaus it skeeves me out trying lip testers I’m finding it so hard to choose in this type of formula. Like you I don’t want to end up with a Barbie pink on my lip. I think I will try Em sometime soon as well. I have a question about the Charlotte T lipsticks and liners. What is the closest formula to them that you’ve tried ? So many YTers have these as their HG and others say it’s drying and have decluttered. And I have a hard time buying prestige liners - for some reason it seem more wasteful than other prestige stuff even tho I hate dry inferior lip liners. Would you say they are worth the money? I as well use them on my whole lip and don’t mind a plastics casing (prefer it actually) most important it that it’s velvety- soft enough to not pull or get hard when I’m applying it.
wooof, i love those bright corals, but for me it's always a fall/winter thing-- i kinda think you're gonna get a lotta use outta the NARS and the Givenchy once it gets cooler :)
So I know you just decluttered, but I saw that you're getting into K-Beauty and was wondering if you'd seen the PeriPera Ink Gelatos? They're like a liquid lipstick that's mixed with silicone, so they're sheer and matt, very blotted lip.

It's so funny, every lip video I see these gorgeous pinks and I sit here with my mouth wide open like oooh that's perfect, what is that??? and I pause the video, stare at it for a few mins/google it. Then I press play and you declutter them and I'm sat here like ":O:O:O:O nooooooo how can you!!" hahaha (I'm joking though ofc, I understand you have a completely different skin tone to me and I really appreciate your approach to 'stuff' - curation over hoarding!) I'd love to know if there's a (cheaper) colour dupe for that tom ford indian rose - will google it :-) Thank you for the chilled, entertaining content as always Hannah! Edit: for rewording
There was a time when I fantasized big time about CT Miss Kengsinton... now I realize it's way too pale for me (Raw Chocolate is my peachy nude). Now you've killed my illusions! Haha. Love swatches videos!
Hey Hannah, any advice for someone who wants to get into lipsticks but has like... one? I want to play around with lip colors but don’t want to cast about blindly in a Sephora until I have developed a collection
I definitely suggest trying a few drugstore-priced formulas! I've been really impressed by the Maybelline lipsticks and the L'oreal color riche shines. Nyx soft matte lip cremes are also great, I love their color selection. Colourpop is also a great option for trying a variety of colors and formulas without spending a lot of money. I have never bought any Flower Beauty lip products because I already have so many but I've heard amazing things about those formulas, so if you are ever in an Ulta, that might be one to try.
@@HannahLouisePoston went to Ulta today and found, among other things, the most perfect shade of red in the Nyx section on sale. Thanks so much for your help!
You’re doing better than me.. I have so many lip products I don’t wear and I need to declutter again! I am not buying anymore lip products!! I have too many I don’t use now!
I love the L’Oréal riche lipsticks, they are one of my favorite formulas!! Despite that I hate the packaging , it is so cheap and if I try and put them in my purse they always open up. Grr it drives me crazy! Ok thank you for letting me randomly vent about it 😂
Oh Hannah. Have you had to sharpen a Charlotte lip pencil yet? I read a review that said her pencils need a proprietary sharpener (may not be true- I don’t have any to tell) but wanted to pass it on as it would be a bummer if they wouldn’t fit in any of your sharpeners. They look similar in girth so idk.
If I wasn’t a makeup artist I would have 10 lipsticks 3 lip balms le rouge perfecto style, one lipgloss fenty gloss, one red, one orange red, and then different shades of nudes 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ lipsticks are not my thing 🙌🏻 I have more than you but again I’m a makeup artist and variety is key. Loved this declutter !
It’s funny something you said today really got me thinking... You talked about how much you started this declutter with and how it was too much for you and to others they may have more than that and that’s ok. They may be happy with that amount of excess. I try very hard to live my life not to judge others. I recently was watching a TH-camr I have enjoyed in the past and she did a declutter and it was of a massive collection and she kept the majority of her collection. She stated she was keeping products even knowing she probably would never use them again. I’m trying not to judge her for the way she lives her life and she has every right to do this. But I realized watching that declutter made me feel very uncomfortable. As much as I try not to judge others and I can accept she has a large collection, I would rather not watch her discuss why she is going to keep every part of it even if she won’t use it. That touches some part of me that I would rather remain untouched. I realized I can either unsubscribe from her entirely or just stop watching some of her videos like this (still undecided.). I do believe everyone has the right to purchase what they want and do with it what they want (as long as they aren’t hurting anyone.). I try to live more simply and intentionally, however I want to respect her right to make those decisions as much as I want her to respect my rights to make my decisions.
Hey Hannah, I think you forgot to link Sara Hobler channel and I can't find it. Could you please link it? Or if someone reading this knows the link, would you mind sharing it here? Thanks
I’ve always had such anxiety about those damn lip kajals. Every single time you swatched them. So when the orange once broke, I just about had a heart attack. 😰
I've never seen anyone mention the ad breaks on TH-cam, I actually love that 👏❤️
Karen Singing ASMR I watch a soap making channel called Royalty Soaps and she does. I like it too! 🙂

I loved every freaking second of this! 👌💙💚💜
I love love love your videos :D i was wondering did you consider making a podcast??? ( Sorry if my eng is bed , its not my first language)
Milica Zebic i would die for a Hannah podcast!!
I've been using Wherever Walnut to put my beauty mark back on after foundation. It's the perfect match.
I looooveeee lipstick. Your reasoning behind keep them and each having a purpose soothes my anxiety. lol

I read a review that said her pencils need a proprietary sharpener (may not be true- I don’t have any to tell) but wanted to pass it on as it would be a bummer if they wouldn’t fit in any of your sharpeners. They look similar in girth so idk.
Nice job, Hannah!
Nice one, Hannah! :)
also HANNAH I spilled red wine on my laptop last night and it made me think of you lol
Literally shouted no when you decided to get ride of the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks.

I added it to the description box! Sorry I forgot to do that earlier! It's been a crazy week :)
@@HannahLouisePoston do not apologize, I was just eager to watch another decluttering vid. Have a wonderful day
That Givenchy lipstick is so beautiful (I looked it up online to get the full idea), now I am completely in love with a discontinued lipstick.
Thanks
It's Hubler x th-cam.com/channels/qq5gNI1zjEgk3yHMdekurA.html
OK ad actually appeared where you left and ad break this time.
💛💛💛
Just throwing an idea out there. For your ad breaks, you could include a funny/weird/ any picture of Saddie on the screen
OH NO NOT WHO RUN THIS FROM COLOURPOP
I’ve always had such anxiety about those damn lip kajals. Every single time you swatched them. So when the orange once broke, I just about had a heart attack. 😰

Sorry I've actually never been the 1st ton comment before lol
I REALLY do not like the colourpop lip liner formula.
