I went through this whole shadow stick phase. Like I think I imagined them in a clutch purse and I would just pop into the bathroom on my way to happy hour and do an eye wing or something. Like who is this person??? She is not the mother of a teenager who does her eye shadow with bullet proof primer in the a.m. and never wears wings. That's me.
Surprisingly I also own Kiko's eyeshadow stick in 46 and is my absolute favorite! Such an underrated product that I literally heard no-one talk about besides you! 😃
I love cream shadows. I don’t use them super regularly but they’re perfect for the days that I only have 10 min to do a full face and still want eyeshadow on. Regarding the problem buffing, I wonder if what I do would work for you. I take my cream shadow and spread it all over the mobile lid, slightly extending in a dome . Then before buffing, I rub it in w my finger. And take one complementary darker shade for the outer v and transition. I apply a normal shadow to the v and slightly across the dome. Only then do I buff both together, just along the perimeter. It ends up looking great and I’m able to get a complete eye in less than 4 minutes. I have to say that liquid Sydney Grace is breathtaking. I saw it in another video and it encouraged me to peruse her website. If only there was more that piqued my interest. Someday...
I love those colors. I never tried much cream liquid shadows, but I do have a lot of the colour pop super shock shadows. I had 19, but I recently decluttered 6. I'm going to sell them with some other things I don't use to Glambot.
I love cream shadows. Powders require so much time that I don’t have anymore as a busy working mother. Part of the reason I want ND’s metropolis is because it has so many of them. This video was great though. I’ve definitely fallen victim to the “you had a bad day” purchase. Now I just look at my collection and swatch to get that good mojo back.
I love this video! I am not a make-up wearer at all, literally my makeup kit is a tinted chap stick and sunscreen but I love watching your videos as decluttering is decluttering and we all have our vices. I am like you are with make up but with purses. When you said about some of the eye shadows having bad memories attached and that you purchased some after a bad day I was like yes girl, been there too! I have just had a good purse declutter after watching this video as you really inspired me. Sometimes talking out loud about to pros and cons really helps you make up your mind. Keep up the great videos cos you rock lady!
I feel like I'm missing something when it comes to cream eyeshadows, because I prefer them to powder. I didn't own any powder until my mom decluttered her collection recently and passed them on to me. What is the difficulty when it comes to wearing cream eyeshadows?
Due to their formula, they don't allow you to blend them together as easily as powder eyeshadows. You also have to work very quickly because they set at some point. If you're trying to create a seamless color gradient in the crease and using multiple colors, they're way more finnicky to work with. However, if you're only using one color for a quick one and done eyeshadow look that's going to last all day, they're very useful for that. But even with one color, many cream and liquid eyeshadows just don't blend out as flawlessly at the edges as powder.
Cream def CAN be quicker an easier. Brands have flourished under that exact premise- IE nudestix. They’re also less intimidating for newbies. It’s like a crayon after all. But when experiences makeup lovers don’t like them I think it comes down to Habit and Technique 1 we forget about them and 2 some people find they don’t mesh well with their normal order of operations .
Really enjoyed this video, as always :) just wanted to mention though that a problem I have with middle ads is that often the video just stops playing after them (perhaps because my internet isn’t the best) and the screen just goes black, and then if I refresh the page then it takes me back to the beginning and I have to try and find where I was. It’s not the end of the world but it does sometimes stop me making the effort to finish watching a video, and I know you’ve asked for viewer opinions on them before.
Valencia Santiago hi Valencia! I too have hooded, oily lids and I can wear some cream shadow. As long as I use an eyeshadow base (even regular shadow creases in an hour on my lids without base) and choose a cream shadow that sets. There are a few that stay tacky, those ones crease but the ones that set I can wear with no problem as long as I do a thin layer. The only ones I’ve experienced creasing are the Revlon ones in the pot, and Kevyn Aucoin. Likely Roen and RMS would also crease.

Same I even use my liquid lipsticks as eyeshadow because its its easier and blends nicer and last forever and makes agretavoase for topper shadows.
