Really nice! Would be interesting to see/hear your take on all the bi-led laser projectors that are coming out, a video comparing different manufacturers would super nice!
Fantastic job, C. More often than not, the things that take the most time and patience, turns out to be a better end product. Looks incredible. Beautiful work as always.
Excellent video! I was considering a similar setup for my E90 M3, but have been hesitant due to the amount of trimming required for those particular halos. Precision Raceworks has some DTM halos that mount in the factory locations and require no trimming, but they are only available in white. The yellow looks so mean! Thanks for the video and all of the details! 🙌🏼
Love the work you put into these but I still prefer the look of the G5-BRT protectors. The cutoff and color are much nicer imo. Plus the 4300K bulbs are much easier I'm the eyes from the inside.
Woah .... might buy a e92 just to do the headlights like this. Currently have E46 lci. Even after 10 years and rebuilding the headlights 4 times with new angel eyes it still looks so frikkin perfect. This is the first thing I see that comes close when I compare all BMW
Did a quad bi led with these on a e92 LCI 335. Not a fun job. Especially making a custom bracket to have the inner projectors auto level. Every part of these lights have to have some kind of trimming or harness modification. I’d rather spin a rod bearing.
Wow, nice work. It irks me when I see people stuff in a new projector inside the inner cavity in a fixed position. Amazing that you got it done. Patience is certainly required!
You got any suggestions for getting new lenses? Mine are pitted and I’d like to just get new ones but I don’t want to get crappy ones that distort the light output
We’ve got some excellent quality lenses for sale but the truth is that it’s hit or miss regarding optical quality at a high level. The good news is that you can tune the projectors to work with the lenses to avoid distortion for the most part.
Ugh. I’m in the same boat. 3rd gen TL has a killer oem project. But as time goes on. The bowls are burnt and are hard to find. Have a set of nkh v that I kinda just wanna use to try something new…
Lens distortion through that part of the lens (at this projector height) - Will attempt to dial it in better after a road test and hopefully it goes away. Aftermarket lenses can cause some various levels of distortion.
When fitting the angel eyes in, did you have any issues with the headlight cover bumping the Rings ? Ive made the hole a little lower than you have so im guessing thats the problem
You need to back space the original shroud a bit. Then completely trim up in the ID so you have clearance. Lots of work is needed with that shroud so you can get the lens to clear with the halo mounted. When the halo seats it can only seat one way as its round.
@LightwerkzGlobal thanks man, managed to get it done in the end. Those lights are way too thick for that headlight but it still worked out after alot of tweaking and cutting the shroud.
Thank you for the compliment! When the level of customization goes this deep sometimes things veer off in the wrong direction. More isn't always better. I generally prefer simplicity with high performance but it wouldn't make for as cool of an end result!
Nice work. Is the projector slightly slanted on the right side? I did a similar swap but with the non afs brackets. No cutting required but obviously you loose afs. I would say mine has a slight slant and had to use washers to point them up higher incase anyone wants to do the same.
AFS is a sweet feature to retain when you can. The projectors I setup looked pretty damn perfect. I think the drivers side has a slight flare and they just need to be dialed in better after a road test. They wont always match up 100%
I am interested in doing the bi led conversion on my M3 as well, i don't have AFS, Would require the same amount of modification to the bracket and frame? I am leaving the rest of the headlight in stock form.
@@LightwerkzGlobal one more question if you don't mind, do these headlights use 2.5 or 3 inch projectors? Also do you have a link for the needed brackets for the non AFS headlights?
Yes. Simple because using plug and play LED bulbs on a projector designed for HID is just a recipe for a downgrade in your lighting. Nothing works better than a premium Osram or Philips bulbs inside a HID based projector.
Hi Master¡ likes so much¡ , im thinking to put and buy in your website, one question.. you see any swith in the headlights for change the direction RHD LHD¿ bbuy car from uk and now im in SPain.. THanks so much.
Lens swap/upgrade was popular 5-10 years ago. That was good for about 15-20% intensity boost MAX. If you go through the trouble only to find out your original projector bowl is burned up, its a waste of time overall. The projector swap is the way to go since its not that much extra work while you are inside.
We offer the projector upgrades for the E90 LCI AFS lights, or Pre LCI non AFS lights if you are outside of the USA. Reach out to us with any questions.
New to LEDs and just purchased my e92 but as far as i can tell the lens closet to the grill has no functionality correct? Also with the new LEDs do they also have a high beam?
The inner light is a cornering light. Not overly important when you've got upgraded projectors. Yes this is bi-led, so its low and high beam out of the same projector (same as stock function)

Always how it goes right? I kept reminding myself that it will be worth the trouble!
I love it! EVERYTHING about it! Including the rims!
Thank you! Love the Apex wheels, had a few sets now on various cars. They look amazing and they are lightweight and reasonably priced!

Amazing that yellow on white looks so good !!
What brand of flat/mat black paint do you use ?
SEM Trim Black - The can version doesn't come out as good so you need to mix it up and spray it out of a gun.
