If Doffy can hold up bird cage around dressrosa (where Fujitora couldn’t even cut it) while fighting Law and Luffy with completely messed up internal organs, why would you say that he stands no chance against Katakuri??? Sure Katakuri has amazing observation haki, but Doffy also has all three haki. Doffy could probably use his haki strings to cut Katakuri’s nochi.

A more balanced match-up would be Doffy VS Cracker, one is a glass cannon that can fight for long periods of time and the other has lots of endurance but somewhat lacks the destructive power to keep with a legion biscuit soldiers, however if strings are good counter to the biscuit hardness, things could be different. Tbh I'm not sure who could win 😅
My thoughts exactly. Just after Doflamingo he was the next opponent to make Luffy go Gear 4th and also back then The Yonkou Commanders had that unattainable strength and hype around them.
Just look at the way they dealt with Gear 4 luffy.... Cracker instantly countered it, and Doflamingo had to avoid and stall gear 4. Cracker also damaged gear 4 luffy with his sword so..... Cracker would definitely defeat doffy, HIGH diff fight tho.
Hachi lost to a Zoro who had only one real sword and should have been dead from bloodloss after the Mihawk fight, I think Bon Clay takes it pretty easy. Foxxy would probably beat Buggy.
Max Mustermann the foxxy/buggy fight would probably be pretty even and definitely worth discussion. Hachi vs bon Clay is probably one sided but all I really want is a match up for Hachi (he’s one of my favorite characters).

Having your internal organs shredded is worse than a stab wound that might or might not have damaged internal organs. Doflamingo took much more damage than Katakuri. With shredded organs, it still took King Kong Gun, the most destructive technique Luffy has ever used, to take him out. Resilience is basically the only stat in which Doflamingo clearly surpasses Katakuri.
there are certain things that would go in Doflamingo's Advantage . 1; He was fighting both Law and Luffy ,overpowering them,while maintaining birdcage opposed by Fujitora and Zoro. 2; He Defeated Law Before Luffy .His organs were damaged severly. His stamina was Heavily Deprived due to Fighting Law,Sanji ,Opposing Fujitora face to face and causing atrocities in dressrosa like birdcage,string puppets, and string knight (his string clone) . 3; His Bounty is extremely underwhelmed due to the fact that it's in 300 million berry range . but the thing to be pointed out is that this was freezed when he became a warlord of the sea. and that was OVER 20 YEARS AGO. (give or take some ) . and he majorly improved his skills . Maybe he's not as powerful as Katakuri now but his bounty according to his prowess is definitely around 900 Million berry (definitely less than katukuri) . This is by same reason that Luffy's bounty according to his prowess is 3 Billion Berry. 4; He broke free when aokiji completely froze him . A feat very few can do indeed. 5; Doflamingo's durability was so freakingly insane that luffy had to stall him for 10 minutes AFTER USING GEAR 4th . if it was one on one(without law,and basically every freakin person on dressrosa interfering) ,Daflamingo could've obliterated Luffy very easily . maybe he would've faced some difficulty with gear 4th but that 10 minute cooldown time was wnough to kill Luffy. So Basically that means , Doflamingo , defeated Trafalgar Law (a warlord like him with a bounty of 400 million berry) , with one sided carnage, AND nearly defeated Luffy too ( also a man with 400 million berry bounty).Also he toyed with Diamond Jozu at Marineford,who was the third Commander of Whitebeard Pirates . If that doesn't prove his merit as going toe to toe with Katakuri , I don't know what does. so Doflamingo is Definitely one of the most deadliest one piece characters. (he almost broke Sanji's leg ) .But maybe a tad bit less than Katakuri .Because Katakuri is a carnage machine of his own.

The sitting around making u weak doesnt really apply to one piece. This was my argument that all these yonkos shouldnt be that strong anymore because they're all old and been sitting comfortably without many difficult fights. It's hard to apply.logic to anime.
I love both, but Doflamingo is still my favorite villain--but I agree that Katakuri would win. I would say if they have 10 battles, Katakrui would win 7 or 8, but Doflamingo could win under the right conditions that would allow him opportunities to preemptively affect the battle beforehand...and I am sure he could potentially pull some unique tricks with his Devil fruit. He may fool Katakuri with a clone for example, and figure out the formula for his future site--timing it out perfectly to say; make Katakuri believe he killed him but then sneak attacking a moment after his clone puppet is destroyed and he appears dead. Never underestimate the power of the mind.

Doflamingo could definitely take out Jack, Queen, Smoothie or Cracker individually. They're pretty easy targets for a guy who only needs to hit you with a pin tip. Even if Cracker was in his armor Doffy could find a way through those big old biscuits.
Honestly, I think Dolfamingo has the better DF. Yeah he can't turn into string and it isn't a "Special Paramecia" class but it is hella versitle. He can create massive amounts of string that act like walls, make string clones, tie them to clouds to induce flight, light them on fire creating fire whips, shoot them like bullets, control people like puppets, the monstrosity known as the Birdcage, and even provide emergency stitching on himself whenever a limb (or his enteral organs) get damaged. His DF is ridiclous but I can see why he'll lose to Katakuri because Kakakuri puts his powers to better use as he uses it in with his crazy Future Sight abilities. And the fact that most of Doffy's powers may not work on Katakuri (since not even Doffy's Parasite can control Gear Fourth Luffy).
Doflamingo's powers are more useful for his type of character (someone who is sneaky and likes to manipulate) but Katakuri's power is MUCH more powerful in a real fight. Because Katakuri can manipulate his Mochi into being both sticky and hard via haki (like Gear 4th Luffy's ability to be hard and rubbery at the same time), he can kill people REALLY quickly. In fact, he defeated Luffy in round 1 pretty quickly via using Awakened Mochi to stop him from moving and then suffocated him while stopping him from using Gear 4th at the same time. If Luffy wasn't made of rubber and couldn't eat a crazy amount of food, his bones would have been crushed and he would have suffocated. Doflamingo probably gets taken down with 0 difficulty.

And comparing to Luffy, Luffy DESTROYED Doflamingo when he entered Gear Fourth. Katakuri still kicked Luffy's ass not only when he was in Gear Fourth but when he used Snakeman as well.
Doflamingo never had a chance to begin with. Luffy's Armament was stronger than Doffy but katakuri's made gear 4 luffy cry with pain. Plus future sight...and don't forget Kata is as intelligent as luffy in battle ....very quick to adapt to every situation.
Oda never showed Katakuri splitting all the way in half. He just opened holes where needed. I wonder if Doffy were to use strings at kind of swords if he'd be fully able to dodge them.

That’s just dragon ball logic. One piece combat is about actual technique and some strategy and not just powering up and overpowering others. Katakuri is not faster than Gear 2 nor Snake man, in fact he aint even faster than Base Luffy. Before you attack me, keep reading. The reason Katakuri could keep up with Luffy, was not because he was as fast as him, but because his forte is to dodge !!! And that is what FS is what for. Katakuri just moved before Luffy made his move, which allowed him to dodge the attacks. But what about when it is Katakuri hitting? Katakuri himself admitted to have a hard time hitting Luffy and Luffy was just using Gear 2 lol. For Katakuri to hit Luffy, he had to use his Fruit Powers and Haki to outclass his speed. Unlike Doflamingo that he could hit Luffy in base, Gear 2 or even Gear 4 without difficult. 3.- Durability? Mmm yeah, Doflamingo is superior, but Katakuri is also a tank, he is used to getting hit. 4.- Haki? Mmmm this a hard one. Observation Haki, Katakuri is the clear winner. I think Doffy is the greatest villain thus far, but Katakuri wins in a 1v1. Their physical stats (strength, resilience, speed) are similar. Their fruit mastery is similar. Both are awakened, and very creative/smart fruit users. Both are intelligent and cunning. Both use all three types of Haki. The decisive difference between them is that Katakuri is the better Haki user. He is far better at observation Haki and slightly better at armarment Haki. If Doffy somehow manages to provoke Katakuri and have him lose his calm (-> no more future sight), he might be able to push Katakuri to his limits, but other than that, there is not much he can do.

Grave Darkness everyone's given good arguments on how doffy can beat katakuri, i like it. for doffy's flight tho, kata can answer with a lot of moves: Power Mochi (his giant donut fists literally fly), Mirror Mochi (surrounding Doffy with Mochi from all sides using Awakening), Grilled Mochi (launching a rocket fist at Doffy), Diced Mochi. Actually, Kata doesn't even need Diced Mochi when he can just make any body part gigantic af and swat Doffy with it. Katakuri also has jellybeans which he can aim at Doffy

Luffy needed a lot of help to beat Doflamingo (the 10mins of rest, Law etc.) where Luffy managed to... overcome - as opposed to “beat” - Katakuri after starving himself and fighting Cracker for hours.
Well the strongest and very much most tangible weapon in thw world of one piece is willpower, and Luffy just is OP in willpower (and also in charisma) thats how he beat katakuri and crocodile
I think a fun matchup for yonkou commanders is Katakuri vs Jack. Not because Jack could win, mind you, but simply because the match allows for a lot of Oda-logic when it comes to devilfruit weaknesses. Think about it: mammoths were largely defeated by humans luring them into (tar) pits and then finishing them off with spears. Both of which are tools Katakuri has access to - his body and awakening basically works as a tar pit, and he fights with a spear. So it would be a fairly one-sided conflict, but I'd still like to see it play out.
Katakuri's armament is also at an advanced lvl like his observation. He said "Armament also have advanced lvl" when Luffy's hands were hurt after clashing.
It doesn't make him close to Katakuri regardless. Having his organs in good shape wouldn't help him againts Katakuri and his overpowered Haki. The only advantage Doffy had was that his devil fruit was awakened which is also the case for Katakurie. Doffy has nothing to beat Katakuri future sight.
Katakuri impaled himself, I would argue that's around the same tier. Doflamingo is hella strong don't get me wrong,he would beat cracker on hard dif, we don't know about smootie, but he loses to Katakuri no doubt about it
I think they pretty much are equal in terms of physical strength, df power, battle iq but they both have all 3 haki but Katakuri has that advanced observation which gives a massive advantage
While agree that Katakuri would win this battle, Doflamingo has a big advantage you forgot to mention: he can fucking fly using his strings on clouds!!! Katakuri can use mochi for range attacks, but he's not proficient with geppou or any other technique that would allow him to reach Doflamingo. So assuming the battle happens in a vacuum with no interference, Doflamingo could just stay in the sky miles away and bombard Katakuri with strings until his haki is completely consumed.
Dolflamingo is so underrated, people forget that he was literally wiping out an entire city while fighting Luffy and Law but Katakuri is simply perfect, Katakuri was giving Luffy all the smoke Luffy got knocked on his ass like 50 times but kept getting back up, Katakuri fell over once and "lost" in reality Katakuri won the fight, Luffy just being Luffy will keep standing up over and over, And Katakuri just doesn't? Like Katakuri is so strong that he had to lose in such a niche way, Luffy didn't even knock him out with a powerful attack, they just traded words then Katakuri accepted defeat, people also forget that even basic armament haki isn't that same for everyone, at the very start of the fight both Luffy and Kata clash haki fists, and Luffy's hand literally starting pulsing and he screamed in pain, Katakuri's basic armament is top tier that really he could get advanced Armament and advanced conquerors if he actually trained for it, but it only trained his advanced observation while making his basic armament and conquerors perfect in their own right, Luffy didn't have a single advantage besides the fact that he just kept standing up again
Eh, I honestly don't think it would tbh. Luffy knows to not use lesser forms if he wants to fight Doffy, and has improved all forms of his Haki plus snakeman G4.
Can’t Doflamingo use his mind games to make Katakuri “hittable?” Like make him so angry about his mouth or something that Katakuri’s future sight worsens. That’s kind of what Luffy did, but Doflamingo could make him so much angrier. Also, Doflamingo seems like the type of guy to take hostages, so he could use Brulee or someone to his own advantage. Example: Threaten to decapitate her unless Katakuri does something Also his puppet string thing could be utilized. He could send Katakuris siblings to slow him down and then deal damage? Doflamingo only needs to get a couple really good shots on Katakuri (I think) I’m not saying Doflamingo would win, but his chances, I think, are pretty high. Katakuri took a Gear 4 onslaught and then proceeded to fight for half a day, maybe more. Doflamingo was finished 10 minutes after he got hit with Gear 4 for the first time. Katakuri also injured himself and still fought for hours and could have kept fighting if he truly wanted to but he decided Luffy had proven his point and dropped. Doflamingos Dura lasted him about 3 hours at best. His durability isnt on par with Katakuris.
this is bs actually. Doffy outlasted gear 4 and Luffy was saved by the Dressrosa citizens from Doffy. Plus Doffy's fight is way longer if u actually knew anything. And in terms of hits given out, Doffy received more blows while once Katakuri got hit by Luffy he started to slow down because he isnt used to getting hit. Doffy is more of a tank, Katakuri is stronger and injured himself yes but i wont sit here and watch u type shit

If anything Mingo was the one who slowed down because Mingo got scared and stalled time, then played possum after he realized he couldnt do shit with gear 4. Stop talking shit that you dont know.

Doffy's observation haki allows him to outpace opponents, and guard against attacks, but its not good enough to see the future, or guard against an opponent that can physically overpower him. It also doesn't help when Doffy gets cocky either. For example, when Law successfully landed an injection shot on him. Seeing the future is explicitly noted as being an extremely refined version of observation haki.

The only way that Doflamingo could win is if he gets under Katakuri's skin. Since Katakuri has to be completely calm to use future sight, he becomes very much beatable without it. But aside from that, yeah, Doflamingo has no chance.
That would be a fun interaction, if only because Katakuri would know what he was going to say and how he was going to react, thus ending with a jelly bean straight through Doflamingo's skull while Katakuri taunts him.

They both have qualities that would make each other hard to beat, like Doffy being able to fly and make clones as strong as him that he forgot how to use vs Luffy, and Katakuri and his observation. It would be a good fight. Doffy had his insides fucked up by Law and was still stitching himself from the insides while fighting Luffy, and we don’t know how much that effected him at all, and warlords get stronger after Luffy fights them too. I think Katakuri would win if they were forced to fight, but it definitely wouldn’t be a wash.
Captain Crunch I actually believe that Doffy was at a even more disadvantage. First off, Doffy’s fight was a 2 on 1. Law and Luffy isn’t a good combination for anyone. Second, Doffy was able to keep up bird cage around the island that even Fujitora couldn’t cut.
Luffy only beat Doflamingo because Law inflicted fatal injuries with his Gamma Knife. He might have sewn up his shredded organs, but he was still hurting badly and would have depleted his stamina considerably. The fact Doflamingo outlasted Fourth Gear and was still alive after King Kong Gun, all while his internal organs were damaged beyond repair is a testament to how strong he was.
mega sean I know it’s anime but if his organs are fucked that would’ve been a plot point in the fight and he in no way would be a fight in G4 or be able to take any type of attack in that form
Sorry fam but Doflamingo acknowledges that Luffy's fight with Bellamy weakened him a lot as well, leading to them both being tired/injured. Doflamingo only survived for so long because he was able to stall Luffy with Awakened Strings. He was unable to fight against Gear 4th head on which is why King Kong Gun immediately one shotted him in the manga.
Awesome video, I've always loved this match up. If you're interested in doing another one of these another really fun match up I've seen is Moria vs Magellan. Doppelman warping and his ranged/sword based combat style make Moria pretty slippery for Magellan. Might have to exclude the red super poison though.
Luffy had Law when he battled doffy. He 1v1ed Kata.... Kata had home field advantage with a closed cealing... And he lost (or gave up) Doffy caught a whole island and had his insides scrambled. I'm sure he can heal off any damage that kata can do. Kata can not heal and if luffy managed to land a hit I think doffy can. Not to mention doffy was not at all serious... If luffy would have 1v1ed doffy doffy would have killed him just like he pretty much killed law. He could have took his head instead of his arm. 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️ Doffy is more dangerous. Kata is just more of a fighter.
Robert Nixon none of Doffys feats matter against Kat because he 1. Doesn’t underestimate a foe 2. Can see the future and will stop you before you can make your move.... Katakuri low diff stomping of Doffy and the bounties in fact say that Doffy isn’t more dangerous.

Doffy would get into his Katakuri head so quick and make him "lose his cool" causing his haki that people give too much credit too. (although it is really cool). So that scratches his future sight off the table. It loses to mind games. Katakuri encountered luffy and ran out due to stamina as well as will to continue. People look at that 1 gear 4 moment and forget that doffy got hit with GAMMA KNIFE as well as many other attacks leading to that moment. Katakuri gets stabbed, kicked a few times, and punched and cant continue. If law was with luffy Kata would be grass quick and easy. Doffy is a tank with just as much power as kata. With all the same abilities more or less. Like I said Katakuri is a great fighter but for how long? On top of all this katakuri didn't even fight a 100% luffy. Luffy fought for 3 days and still had gas for katakuri. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think luffy was more 100% when he battled Doffy. And for plot. Doffy will come back. Not sure I like the system of tallying up areas of superiority to determine who the victor is--this ignores the EXTENT to which the character excels in certain areas, as well as the weight of those aspects of combat. For instance, haki has a much bigger impact than intellect.

How? Both of them have all 3 forms of haki and an awakened devil fruit. If anything, I would argue that Doflamingo's devil fruit is innately stronger than Katakuri's fruit. The only thing Katakuri has over Doflamingo is future sight but for the most part, future sight by it self doesn't help you win. It just helps you delay losing. I also believe that Katakuri will win but I I don't think it's a low diff

While 12 hours was Kata. I do think people aren't giving Doffy enough credit, but also can see why they aren't.

Great analysis except you forgot to mention that Doflamingo asides from being superior in intelligence and durability has another advantage: "STAMINA" of course, I make a distinction between durability and stamina. Durability refers to the ability to take more hits in combat and stamina means you have more energy at your disposal in combat, of course the two lead to the same effect, you essentially last much longer in combat. This is confirmed when Luffy was only able to beat Doflamingo within a few minutes before his haki ran out and as for Katakuri, during his fight with Luffy he had to take a pause to go eat a bunch of snacks to replenish himself. In conclusion, the score really is Katakur 5 vs Doflamingo 3 so the margin isn't so big after all. Anyway, please share your thoughts.
Er... Katakuri wasn't doing that to replenish himself. As it was shown by the chefs who were looking at their clocks, Kakakuri always has a special time of the day each day where he eats his donuts in peace without people seeing his true self. During his fight with Luffy, he realized that time was approaching and tried to end it right then and there. It wasn't because he was growing tired and needed to eat. It was because of his special donut time was approaching and it is assumed he does it every day. And, finally, Katakuri fought Luffy for over 11 hours straight. Luffy vs. Doflamingo barely lasted even half that time. I think it's clear that Katakuri's stamina is way better.

This is really based on timing. Pre-Luffy Katakuri would get absolutely wrecked by Doflamingo, as Doflamingo would annihilate Katakuri in the mental battle, leading to mistakes in the physical battle which Doflamingo is no doubt more than capable of capitalizing on, seeing as it’s Doflamingo. Post-Luffy, however, Katakuri wins because of his development throughout his fight with Luffy. He’s much less focused on perfection, and this opens him up to a stronger mentality that would allow him to pull through and beat Doflamingo. TLDR: If Luffy never existed, Doflamingo wins. When luffy fought doffy, he was already completely worn down from the gamma knife, it obliterated his organs and he only prevented them from falling apart with his string, he cannot use the to regenerate.

Keep in mind Doffy kept up his WHOLE fight AFTER the Law damage. Regenerated but still felt the pain. Honestly a couple of these felt biased. A prime doffy would have trashed Luffy had Luffy gotten no help.

A more balanced match-up would be Doffy VS Cracker, one is a glass cannon that can fight for long periods of time and the other has lots of endurance but somewhat lacks the destructive power to keep with a legion biscuit soldiers, however if strings are good counter to the biscuit hardness, things could be different. Tbh I'm not sure who could win 😅

My thoughts exactly. Just after Doflamingo he was the next opponent to make Luffy go Gear 4th and also back then The Yonkou Commanders had that unattainable strength and hype around them.
Just look at the way they dealt with Gear 4 luffy.... Cracker instantly countered it, and Doflamingo had to avoid and stall gear 4. Cracker also damaged gear 4 luffy with his sword so..... Cracker would definitely defeat doffy, HIGH diff fight tho.

Having your internal organs shredded is worse than a stab wound that might or might not have damaged internal organs. Doflamingo took much more damage than Katakuri. With shredded organs, it still took King Kong Gun, the most destructive technique Luffy has ever used, to take him out. Resilience is basically the only stat in which Doflamingo clearly surpasses Katakuri.

1; He was fighting both Law and Luffy ,overpowering them,while maintaining birdcage opposed by Fujitora and Zoro.
2; He Defeated Law Before Luffy .His organs were damaged severly. His stamina was Heavily Deprived due to Fighting Law,Sanji ,Opposing Fujitora face to face and causing atrocities in dressrosa like birdcage,string puppets, and string knight (his string clone) .
3; His Bounty is extremely underwhelmed due to the fact that it's in 300 million berry range . but the thing to be pointed out is that this was freezed when he became a warlord of the sea. and that was OVER 20 YEARS AGO. (give or take some ) . and he majorly improved his skills . Maybe he's not as powerful as Katakuri now but his bounty according to his prowess is definitely around 900 Million berry (definitely less than katukuri) . This is by same reason that Luffy's bounty according to his prowess is 3 Billion Berry.
4; He broke free when aokiji completely froze him . A feat very few can do indeed.
5; Doflamingo's durability was so freakingly insane that luffy had to stall him for 10 minutes AFTER USING GEAR 4th . if it was one on one(without law,and basically every freakin person on dressrosa interfering) ,Daflamingo could've obliterated Luffy very easily . maybe he would've faced some difficulty with gear 4th but that 10 minute cooldown time was wnough to kill Luffy. So Basically that means , Doflamingo , defeated Trafalgar Law (a warlord like him with a bounty of 400 million berry) , with one sided carnage, AND nearly defeated Luffy too ( also a man with 400 million berry bounty).Also he toyed with Diamond Jozu at Marineford,who was the third Commander of Whitebeard Pirates . If that doesn't prove his merit as going toe to toe with Katakuri , I don't know what does.

I love both, but Doflamingo is still my favorite villain--but I agree that Katakuri would win. I would say if they have 10 battles, Katakrui would win 7 or 8, but Doflamingo could win under the right conditions that would allow him opportunities to preemptively affect the battle beforehand...and I am sure he could potentially pull some unique tricks with his Devil fruit. He may fool Katakuri with a clone for example, and figure out the formula for his future site--timing it out perfectly to say; make Katakuri believe he killed him but then sneak attacking a moment after his clone puppet is destroyed and he appears dead. Never underestimate the power of the mind.

Honestly, I think Dolfamingo has the better DF. Yeah he can't turn into string and it isn't a "Special Paramecia" class but it is hella versitle. He can create massive amounts of string that act like walls, make string clones, tie them to clouds to induce flight, light them on fire creating fire whips, shoot them like bullets, control people like puppets, the monstrosity known as the Birdcage, and even provide emergency stitching on himself whenever a limb (or his enteral organs) get damaged. His DF is ridiclous but I can see why he'll lose to Katakuri because Kakakuri puts his powers to better use as he uses it in with his crazy Future Sight abilities. And the fact that most of Doffy's powers may not work on Katakuri (since not even Doffy's Parasite can control Gear Fourth Luffy).
Katakuri can do a lot of those things too though, clones, walls, detached limbs... but he can also manipulate his body shape 100%
Doflamingo's powers are more useful for his type of character (someone who is sneaky and likes to manipulate) but Katakuri's power is MUCH more powerful in a real fight. Because Katakuri can manipulate his Mochi into being both sticky and hard via haki (like Gear 4th Luffy's ability to be hard and rubbery at the same time), he can kill people REALLY quickly. In fact, he defeated Luffy in round 1 pretty quickly via using Awakened Mochi to stop him from moving and then suffocated him while stopping him from using Gear 4th at the same time. If Luffy wasn't made of rubber and couldn't eat a crazy amount of food, his bones would have been crushed and he would have suffocated. Doflamingo probably gets taken down with 0 difficulty.

What some people don’t realize : not every anime is dragon ball, you won’t have a guaranteed loss against someone because you failed to beat someone that beat another person. That’s just dragon ball logic. One piece combat is about actual technique and some strategy and not just powering up and overpowering others. Doflamingo probably would beat katakuri seeing as how it was a whole alliance against Doflamingo while katakuri was a 1 v 1

1.- Physical combat? Both are physical combat fighters. The difference is that Katakuri uses his Mochi to increase his body for stronger attacks, and that aint physical power. Physically, Luffy was equal to Katakuri, while Doflamingo was superior to Gear 2. So physically, Doflamingo is stronger.
2.- Speed? Your argument is wrong. Katakuri is not faster than Gear 2 nor Snake man, in fact he aint even faster than Base Luffy. Before you attack me, keep reading. The reason Katakuri could keep up with Luffy, was not because he was as fast as him, but because his forte is to dodge !!! And that is what FS is what for. Katakuri just moved before Luffy made his move, which allowed him to dodge the attacks. But what about when it is Katakuri hitting? I think Doffy is the greatest villain thus far, but Katakuri wins in a 1v1. Their physical stats (strength, resilience, speed) are similar. Their fruit mastery is similar. Both are awakened, and very creative/smart fruit users. Both are intelligent and cunning. Both use all three types of Haki. The decisive difference between them is that Katakuri is the better Haki user. He is far better at observation Haki and slightly better at armarment Haki. If Doffy somehow manages to provoke Katakuri and have him lose his calm (-> no more future sight), he might be able to push Katakuri to his limits, but other than that, there is not much he can do.

Actually, Kata doesn't even need Diced Mochi when he can just make any body part gigantic af and swat Doffy with it. Katakuri also has jellybeans which he can aim at Doffy

Oooh this is a spicy one. Can’t disagree and it also nicely points out how important fighting styles and devil fruit abilities are in an era of haki. Luffy needed a lot of help to beat Doflamingo (the 10mins of rest, Law etc.) where Luffy managed to... overcome - as opposed to “beat” - Katakuri after starving himself and fighting Cracker for hours.

I think a fun matchup for yonkou commanders is Katakuri vs Jack. Not because Jack could win, mind you, but simply because the match allows for a lot of Oda-logic when it comes to devilfruit weaknesses.
Think about it: mammoths were largely defeated by humans luring them into (tar) pits and then finishing them off with spears. Both of which are tools Katakuri has access to - his body and awakening basically works as a tar pit, and he fights with a spear.
So it would be a fairly one-sided conflict, but I'd still like to see it play out.

Doflamingo is underrated. He was already damaged by Law before the 1v1 battle against Luffy and he had the birdcage activated during it.
It doesn't make him close to Katakuri regardless. Having his organs in good shape wouldn't help him againts Katakuri and his overpowered Haki. The only advantage Doffy had was that his devil fruit was awakened which is also the case for Katakurie. Doffy has nothing to beat Katakuri future sight.

While agree that Katakuri would win this battle, Doflamingo has a big advantage you forgot to mention: he can fucking fly using his strings on clouds!!! Katakuri can use mochi for range attacks, but he's not proficient with geppou or any other technique that would allow him to reach Doflamingo. So assuming the battle happens in a vacuum with no interference, Doflamingo could just stay in the sky miles away and bombard Katakuri with strings until his haki is completely consumed.

Can’t Doflamingo use his mind games to make Katakuri “hittable?” Like make him so angry about his mouth or something that Katakuri’s future sight worsens. That’s kind of what Luffy did, but Doflamingo could make him so much angrier. Also, Doflamingo seems like the type of guy to take hostages, so he could use Brulee or someone to his own advantage. Example: Threaten to decapitate her unless Katakuri does something

Katakuri took a Gear 4 onslaught and then proceeded to fight for half a day, maybe more. Doflamingo was finished 10 minutes after he got hit with Gear 4 for the first time. Katakuri also injured himself and still fought for hours and could have kept fighting if he truly wanted to but he decided Luffy had proven his point and dropped. Doflamingos Dura lasted him about 3 hours at best. His durability isnt on par with Katakuris.

Doffy's observation haki allows him to outpace opponents, and guard against attacks, but its not good enough to see the future, or guard against an opponent that can physically overpower him. It also doesn't help when Doffy gets cocky either. For example, when Law successfully landed an injection shot on him.
Seeing the future is explicitly noted as being an extremely refined version of observation haki.

I don’t know. They both have qualities that would make each other hard to beat, like Doffy being able to fly and make clones as strong as him that he forgot how to use vs Luffy, and Katakuri and his observation.
It would be a good fight. Doffy had his insides fucked up by Law and was still stitching himself from the insides while fighting Luffy, and we don’t know how much that effected him at all, and warlords get stronger after Luffy fights them too.
I think Katakuri would win if they were forced to fight, but it definitely wouldn’t be a wash.

I actually believe that Doffy was at a even more disadvantage.
First off, Doffy’s fight was a 2 on 1. Law and Luffy isn’t a good combination for anyone.
Second, Doffy was able to keep up bird cage around the island that even Fujitora couldn’t cut.

Luffy only beat Doflamingo because Law inflicted fatal injuries with his Gamma Knife. He might have sewn up his shredded organs, but he was still hurting badly and would have depleted his stamina considerably. The fact Doflamingo outlasted Fourth Gear and was still alive after King Kong Gun, all while his internal organs were damaged beyond repair is a testament to how strong he was.
mega sean I know it’s anime but if his organs are fucked that would’ve been a plot point in the fight and he in no way would be a fight in G4 or be able to take any type of attack in that form
Sorry fam but Doflamingo acknowledges that Luffy's fight with Bellamy weakened him a lot as well, leading to them both being tired/injured. Doflamingo only survived for so long because he was able to stall Luffy with Awakened Strings. He was unable to fight against Gear 4th head on which is why King Kong Gun immediately one shotted him in the manga.

Awesome video, I've always loved this match up. If you're interested in doing another one of these another really fun match up I've seen is Moria vs Magellan. Doppelman warping and his ranged/sword based combat style make Moria pretty slippery for Magellan. Might have to exclude the red super poison though.
Luffy had Law when he battled doffy. He 1v1ed Kata....
Kata had home field advantage with a closed cealing... And he lost (or gave up)
Doffy caught a whole island and had his insides scrambled. I'm sure he can heal off any damage that kata can do.
Kata can not heal and if luffy managed to land a hit I think doffy can.
Not to mention doffy was not at all serious...

Robert Nixon none of Doffys feats matter against Kat because he 1. Doesn’t underestimate a foe 2. Can see the future and will stop you before you can make your move.... Katakuri low diff stomping of Doffy and the bounties in fact say that Doffy isn’t more dangerous.

As soon as luffy got in his head luffy landed a kick.
Doffy would get into his Katakuri head so quick and make him "lose his cool" causing his haki that people give too much credit too. (although it is really cool). So that scratches his future sight off the table. It loses to mind games.
Katakuri encountered luffy and ran out due to stamina as well as will to continue.
People look at that 1 gear 4 moment and forget that doffy got hit with GAMMA KNIFE as well as many other attacks leading to that moment. Katakuri gets stabbed, kicked a few times, and punched and cant continue. If law was with luffy Kata would be grass quick and easy.
Doffy is a tank with just as much power as kata. With all the same abilities more or less. Like I said Katakuri is a great fighter but for how long? On top of all this katakuri didn't even fight a 100% luffy. Luffy fought for 3 days and still had gas for katakuri. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think luffy was more 100% when he battled Doffy.
And for plot. Doffy will come back. He wanted to get captured while the war or the yankos go on so he can break out or be released (government ties) and show us what he really can do.

Not sure I like the system of tallying up areas of superiority to determine who the victor is--this ignores the EXTENT to which the character excels in certain areas, as well as the weight of those aspects of combat. For instance, haki has a much bigger impact than intellect.
Nathanael exactly at this point it’s been highlighted so many times that’s it has become obvious that the strongest fighters are the strongest haki users.

luffy had always help, and in doffys case the handicap doffy got and luffys support is INSANE
without brulee, katakuri would have killed luffy when he runned away

How? Both of them have all 3 forms of haki and an awakened devil fruit. If anything, I would argue that Doflamingo's devil fruit is innately stronger than Katakuri's fruit. The only thing Katakuri has over Doflamingo is future sight but for the most part, future sight by it self doesn't help you win. It just helps you delay losing. I also believe that Katakuri will win but I I don't think it's a low diff

He tanked a ton of Gear Fourth hits and it took an even stronger Gear Fourth attack to bring him down than Katakuri. Don't underestimate the string man~
GrandLineReview but like comon when luffy went into gear 4 it was pretty much a one sided fight but when he went against katakuri it was more balanced
@@GrandLineReview though I do agree to that, one thing to also consider is the fight time between them is wildly different. All of Dressrosa was a day, with tiny end part being the Doffy fight. While 12 hours was Kata. I do think people aren't giving Doffy enough credit, but also can see why they aren't.

Great analysis except you forgot to mention that Doflamingo asides from being superior in intelligence and durability has another advantage: "STAMINA" of course, I make a distinction between durability and stamina. Durability refers to the ability to take more hits in combat and stamina means you have more energy at your disposal in combat, of course the two lead to the same effect, you essentially last much longer in combat. This is confirmed when Luffy was only able to beat Doflamingo within a few minutes before his haki ran out and as for Katakuri, during his fight with Luffy he had to take a pause to go eat a bunch of snacks to replenish himself. In conclusion, the score really is Katakur 5 vs Doflamingo 3 so the margin isn't so big after all. Anyway, please share your thoughts.
Er... Katakuri wasn't doing that to replenish himself. As it was shown by the chefs who were looking at their clocks, Kakakuri always has a special time of the day each day where he eats his donuts in peace without people seeing his true self. During his fight with Luffy, he realized that time was approaching and tried to end it right then and there. It wasn't because he was growing tired and needed to eat. It was because of his special donut time was approaching and it is assumed he does it every day.
And, finally, Katakuri fought Luffy for over 11 hours straight. Luffy vs. Doflamingo barely lasted even half that time. I think it's clear that Katakuri's stamina is way better.

Furthermore, during the battle, Luffy goes on to eat Katakuri's giant mochi ball and by doing so providing himself energy to be on equal grounds with the replenished Katakuri, therefore suggesting that Dolflamingo has more stamina then Luffy and Katakuri.

This is really based on timing. Pre-Luffy Katakuri would get absolutely wrecked by Doflamingo, as Doflamingo would annihilate Katakuri in the mental battle, leading to mistakes in the physical battle which Doflamingo is no doubt more than capable of capitalizing on, seeing as it’s Doflamingo. Post-Luffy, however, Katakuri wins because of his development throughout his fight with Luffy. He’s much less focused on perfection, and this opens him up to a stronger mentality that would allow him to pull through and beat Doflamingo. TLDR: If Luffy never existed, Doflamingo wins. If Luffy fights Katakuri before Katakuri fights Doflamingo, Katakuri wins

Keep in mind Doffy kept up his WHOLE fight AFTER the Law damage. Regenerated but still felt the pain. Honestly a couple of these felt biased. A prime doffy would have trashed Luffy had Luffy gotten no help.
