In fairness, Fox were quite consistent in doing characters dirty. Gambit has always been my favourite X-Men and I preferred he and Rogue more than the usual prom King/Queen focus of Cyc and Jean. So I feel the same with what they did with Rogue and being with Bobby which made zero sense as is.

UrrUrr" (first they were glove attachments, then they come out the back of his hands, then they come out from the front of his fists between the knuckles, then they ARE his knuckles extended, sometimes drawn thin, sometimes thick, sometimes curved...then he is retconned to always have had bone claws and the adamantium was just a coating. I love Wolverine, just saying anything can be seen through the silly lens.)

Going into this show, Gambit was one of the characters I was least familiar with as my main X-Men knowledge came from the movies. Now I'm miffed that he wasn't seen more in those movies. He's easily my favorite X-Man now. Hopefully his appearance in Deadpool and Wolverine is a sign of things to come.

Gambit is a much better fit for Wolverine in a buddy movie than Deadpool because both Gambit and Wolverine are loners who belong in bars but happen to end up having to work together with a grudging mutual respect emerging between them by the end. Deadpool just nags Wolverine to death. Edit: only Gambit can pull off pink body armor and whatever that face mask thing is he wears. And Wolverine being Canadian has issues with the French xD.

I don't like how Joe Kelly changed Deadpool to a funny character in 1997, and I think he's been garbage ever since. MCU even in R would never do what I would like, which is a 90s Danny Ketch Ghost Rider in a "Saw" type true horror movie. Too restricted an audience to make a bunch of money off of, but it would capture the character's tone best. Another analog to Ghost Rider would be the first two "Hellraiser" movies. Like Pinhead, Ghost Rider would not be a goody two shoes, would be horrible to people who deserved it, but would have a grudging sense of honor to those who truly sought to redeem themselves, making revenge unnecessary because they had learned from their mistakes. Would make for a cool Mephisto, too, Ghost Rider's occasional master. Edit: Hard to see how Deadpool would stand out if serious, though. Maybe as a Punisher/Daredevil/Spider-Man frenemy? Cable and Bishop, also. I associate Deadpool as an X-Force bad guy.

It's so weird how little they used his character in the show. It makes me wonder if they had troubles getting his voice actor. Subsequently, they seem to remove some of his dynamics as the show goes on. For example, I don't think he talks to Jubilee at all after season 3, even though he was Jubilee's main friend in season 1 and 2, sort of like her older brother. That honor went to Wolverine in later seasons, like most things.

Absolutely! The hard part is finding someone to play Gambit properly who also feels like Gambit. But yeah man me and my brother would play X-Men 2 on Sega all the time and Wolverine and Gambit was the ultimate combo
@@lmx-retroroundup667 Gambit was introduced in 1991 and so was Deadpool. I collected from 86-94. I don't like how Joe Kelly changed Deadpool to a funny character in 1997, and I think he's been garbage ever since.
MCU even in R would never do what I would like, which is a 90s Danny Ketch Ghost Rider in a "Saw" type true horror movie. Too restricted an audience to make a bunch of money off of, but it would capture the character's tone best.
Another analog to Ghost Rider would be the first two "Hellraiser" movies. Like Pinhead, Ghost Rider would not be a goody two shoes, would be horrible to people who deserved it, but would have a grudging sense of honor to those who truly sought to redeem themselves, making revenge unnecessary because they had learned from their mistakes.
Would make for a cool Mephisto, too, Ghost Rider's occasional master.
Edit: Hard to see how Deadpool would stand out if serious, though. Maybe as a Punisher/Daredevil/Spider-Man frenemy? Cable and Bishop, also. I associate Deadpool as an X-Force bad guy.

It's so weird how little they used his character in the show. It makes me wonder if they had troubles getting his voice actor. Subsequently, they seem to remove some of his dynamics as the show goes on. For example, I don't think he talks to Jubilee at all after season 3, even though he was Jubilee's main friend in season 1 and 2, sort of like her older brother. That honor went to Wolverine in later seasons, like most things.
