gambit is easily in my top two favorite x-men since childhood. the mastery of kinetic energy always fascinated me. but, more importantly, what i've always liked most about gambit is how he never gave a shit about anything. and you always wondered just how easily he could turn into an bad mutant, or why he never became one in the first place. power, nuance, subtly, mystery, and always a little bit edge of rebellion simmering under the surface. shame he isn't featured more in the modern films.
He is also far from weak. He has always been an omega level mutant but certain things happen during his life that made him way more powerful. He had surgery on his hands by Mr Sinister at one point and he was also chosen as one of the four horsemen which involved putting extremally advanced tech in him.
Kind of funny how Xavier calls him useless when he's an Omega level mutant who beat the Silver Surfer, can fight celestials and can turn anything, even people, into a bomb. Xavier couldn't even harm him, he's immune to telepaths
Gambit is strong, but he is *not* Omega-level. Omega-levels have the strongest genetic potential of their power type. Gambit got a power boost to the peak of his power type to fight New Son/Sun, but he lost that when New Son fell. Now, New Son was technically him from a different universe, and was probably Omega-level, but 616 Gambit (and any other Gambit that did *not* nuke their own planet) are not Omega. "The following are the known Omega-level mutants as of the House of X relaunch: Jamie Braddock, Iceman, Elixir, Jean Grey, Legion, Magneto, Proteus, Mister M, Storm, Exodus, Quentin Quire, Franklin Richards, Vulcan, Hope Summers."
Gambit was hands down one of my favorite X-men when I was growing up, this was before his omega level promotion. I remember after the first episode of the X-men the animated series, Wolverine instantly became everyone's favorite character from the start, after a 5 year run it would be Gambit who'd become the most favorite at the end. His character was one of the best in the show, he looked and acted cool, a super hero by day but at night he's a gambling hustling bad boy. Without his powers he's like a ghetto James Bond, But with his powers including his set's of skills and abilities he's simply just Gambit. The writers kept his origins a mystery, this was a writers tactic, they stretched his story throughout the season, and his story was used to add a bit more weight to an episode that they felt was light. Those were some clever story telling and so effective that it kept us wanting even more info every time we the audience got to learn something very small about him. Oh and I almost forgot to mention that Gambit was so cool he starts hitting on Rogue (she currently posses Captain Marvels powers) right from the moment he meets her and has her off her feet by the third season, the man is a legend. having said that I still found this sketch to be so funny that I loved it. Don't let your knowledge stop you from being to laugh about it, sometimes it's best to know when it's okay to turn off the thinking cap.
Exactly how I feel, yea Gambit is a really great mutant character. This is a sketch that isn't meant to dive deep into his powers, it is satire. So many complaints in the comments when they just don't get it...
Gambit, one of the most OP mortal beings in Marvel when his powers are fully awakened, being portrayed as just a guy who throws stuff... ouch. He beats out Silver Surfer at one point. xD
Armando Luna in an at universe he learns he can activate ANY potential energy. Basically when he fights wolverine he literally makes him spontaneously combust
@@cihuacoatl1887 imagine him throwing cards at very high speed, but instead of cards, it's your own cells or even your atom Kinda weird that he always used cards, though. Would be cooler if he's portrayed as general throwing stuff. Coins, pebbles, tanks. Much more interesting than a deck of card
Gambit: "Well, it's been fun. Shake?" **holds out his hand** Professor X: "Oh HELL no I'm not falling for that again!" **holds up his stump of a wrist**
The Wolverine/Cyclops arguments makes sense, but this power definitely isn't useless. Like he said, there's always stuff. The amount of "stuff" he can have on his person alone is staggering.
"I can melt you with my mind" And he can literally turn that chair into a bomb. He throws stuff because literally makes those objects go boom... They should've made fun of how no one can understand what Gambit is saying most of the time

Plus, he's the eye candy for the ladies
Supermoshiiball Yeah with those sexy rat eyes
love superhero skits. love gambit but dig the satire. actor who plays gambit is a boss too, this was awesome all around
Is Jubilee or Dazzler next?
gambit has a better suit than the one using in wolverine :origins
im slow i thought you meant the cards
I am so glad this was made ten years ago
Kind of funny how Xavier calls him useless when he's an Omega level mutant who beat the Silver Surfer, can fight celestials and can turn anything, even people, into a bomb. Xavier couldn't even harm him, he's immune to telepaths
Wow, I like you.
Ayup. People don't realize exactly how broken and OP some of the mutants are, when you really settle down to look at their power structure.
Gambit (as New Sun) also destroyed the Phoenix of his universe. He. Destroyed. The. Fucking. PHOENIX. He's the best :D
@@IWantGorlsArmor2012 How is it that Havoc isnt Omega level..makes no sense how they left him out
These are still hilarious even after this many years
It's a little more terrifying to consider Gambit can make ANYTHING explode as long as he's touching it.
Actually his original power was via sight but he was to powerful
That's kinda gay
@@darkfun2481 Or straight. Women can have dicks too now.
Remy's awesome.
Superhero by day except everyone knows who he is.
@@TheUnseenPath Not sure you understood OP's point.
A bit late but agreed.
Gambit, one of the most OP mortal beings in Marvel when his powers are fully awakened, being portrayed as just a guy who throws stuff... ouch. He beats out Silver Surfer at one point. xD
What can he do?
@@cihuacoatl1887 throw stuff
Armando Luna in an at universe he learns he can activate ANY potential energy. Basically when he fights wolverine he literally makes him spontaneously combust
In short, hes an Omega Level Superhero when he wants to be. Strong enough to fight celestials and other dimensional beings & much more.
@@cihuacoatl1887 imagine him throwing cards at very high speed, but instead of cards, it's your own cells or even your atom
Kinda weird that he always used cards, though. Would be cooler if he's portrayed as general throwing stuff. Coins, pebbles, tanks. Much more interesting than a deck of card
Who's here after deadpool vs wolverine came out?
He's a alternative universe Gambit.
"None of this cats is coming back to broadway shit".
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I love how he caught himself just before he said 'are you fucking with me?'
"I'm ssorry you're still messing with me aren't you?"
" indubitably"
HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!
"what happens if we get attacked and we're NOT in a 99¢ store 🤣🤣🤣I am HOWLING
My god time flies. Can't believe this was 10 years ago. I felt like this was like only a couple of years ago
Gambit: "Well, it's been fun. Shake?" **holds out his hand**
Professor X: "Oh HELL no I'm not falling for that again!" **holds up his stump of a wrist**
The Wolverine/Cyclops arguments makes sense, but this power definitely isn't useless. Like he said, there's always stuff. The amount of "stuff" he can have on his person alone is staggering.
He’s not limited to throwing things. He can charge up anything he touches.
@@gd7681 it was mentioned and Xavier rapidly dismissed it, that was the point of the skit
That's the point of the skit 🤦
The thing I found funny is Gambit doesnt looka like he want to prove his worth
😆
Scatters the meats gets me every time! 😅😅😅
Anyone here after the Remember It episode of the X-men 97?
Gambit doesn't just throw stuff. When he throws it, it explodes.
Its just a joke dumbass
Ok, we got a triggered nerd.
This is awesome! Bring back the show!
"What if we're attacked and we're not in a 99 cent store" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"I can melt you with my mind"
And he can literally turn that chair into a bomb. He throws stuff because literally makes those objects go boom... They should've made fun of how no one can understand what Gambit is saying most of the time
@Yoooshi Gambit is *supposed* to have a Cajun accent, so a parody of him really should cover that.
@Wolong Gong His powers aren't shit and he wasn't that bad of character, though, so the joke fails.
@Wolong Gong You clearly don't appreciate the science behind what the ability actually does to make the boom and how powerful those booms can be.
@Wolong Gong Ah, okay, you're just a contrarian jackass who's resorting to a straw argument now. Great... Either that or your just a dumbass who doesn't really think about what this shit *actually does*.
Unmaking the universe is a fucking worthless ability, btw. What useful application does such a power really have?
@@InfernosReaper Quit feeding the troll, he baited you so hard.
"Book, not the movie" 😂😂😂
I love how people take this too seriously lol.
Love how people use this as a serious debunking of Gambit to show why he's lame xD
Honestly when you think about it, the x-men are kinda useless at world threatening problems
@@q.h.s5051 xmen have all the crazy strong people. well maybe not the xmen but mutants are stupid over powered
Even better.. Cats is coming back to a theater near you.
