The thing that I loved about this show is that it doesn't insult its audiences' intelligence, because while the main theme of the show are mutants trying to co-exist with humans like the civil rights movement, there are also divisions within both societies that reminds us it's not always black and white. Cyclops had no idea who Sabretooth is/was, and didn't know that Wolverine and him went way back and hated each other's guts. For a cartoon meant for kids, it sure had lots of thought provoking commentary and brilliant writing.

Modern Wolverine is a Terminator zombie who tanks constant hits and heals instantly.

In the comics he hates sabretooth for what he did to silver fox and this show shows so much of what sabretooth has done to him the one thing they never did was show that he always comes hunting for him on his birthday that is one of my favorite tropes

Watching this as a child in the early-mid 90's on Saturdays at 7am or 8am in the morning was amazing. I loved the dark edge it had, and to this day it still features my favorite version of Wolverine and Sabretooth. After watching The Lawnmower Man, my first pick for Logan/Wolvie in a film was Jeff Fahey, with Mel Gibson coming in a close second. Clancy Brown (Think Wizard magazine had him as their top choice too), Patrick Killpatrick, Wilhelm Von Homburg and Stefanos Miltsakakis were my choices for Sabretooth back then. Today, Oliver Richter would make for a good Sabretooth or Juggernaut (Hard to top Deadpool 2's version though).

Must be frustrating to be a fighter known for using bladed weapons in a saturday morning kids' cartoon where you can't stab anyone. They take every opportunity they can to have Wolverine slice up inanimate objects with his claws, but he never actually uses them on his enemies.

A problem with X-Men '97 is its fast-paced but weightless "video game" action. X-Men: TAS had gravity to its fight scenes and the main drawback was not going the extra mature rating distance like with Wolverine's claws and wounds.

As an 04 kid I grew up with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. Him, The Fantastic 4 and Spiderman were my heroes growing up but I can't help but feel disappointed that we never got a good Wolverine vs Sabertooth on the big screen.
This was the only Sabes they did right I've waited 20 sumthing years and yeahhh latest movie ugh I got the joke but I really wanted to see his rage

A problem with X-Men '97 is its fast-paced but weightless "video game" action. X-Men: TAS had gravity to its fight scenes and the main drawback was not going the extra mature rating distance like with Wolverine's claws and wounds.
