If you're going to honour Jeff Beck, this is how you do it, with feeling, with thought, with your own heritage bleeding through. Thank you Steve, you too are a 'Master'.
@@iperfungus I have met Steve Morse numerous times thru his iconic career. He & his late wife were extremely friendly & kind. I have nothing but great memories of them. 👍✌️🙂
I have routed for this great Person for 46 years. He is an incredible Human Being. I know that he suffers pain and great discomfort due to arthritis and broken arm - but he never stops pushing. You”Go”, Steve!
I miss Steve Morse in Deep Purple. I have a guitar pick from Steve Morse. For me, Mr. Morse is one of the greatest guitarists ever. 🎸 Gretings from Bosnia 🇧🇦😊
Steve's face in slo mo at the end says it all; a lover was in his heart and head as he played. This was the first solo I learned as a teen learning to play to Beck records in the 70's. Also, my wife passed away of cancer as well this past August; I believe I found this for a reason. Nothing replaces the love for a spouse. God bless you, Steve.
OMG! This is the first time I hear someone plays this song as good as Jeff Beck. I remember in 70's, Jeff Beck & Steve Morse were on the "overall best guitarist of the year" from Guitar Player votes all the time.
Its truly wonderful to watch the legendary Mr Steve Morse play. A guitarist whom I have the utmost respect covering this classic tune given poignance and resonance by the late lamented MrJeff Beck who of course made this instrumental famous. Penned by the equally legendary Mr Stevie Wonder for his lover and the woman who was to became his wife the late singer Syreeta Wright who possessed such a weepingly beautiful voice.
Best tribute ever. Captured the emotion and finnesse perfectly. Thanks Steve. Since the late 70’s i have always hoped to see you and Beck collaborate. How remarkable that would have been. I guess i’ll have to catch that event on the other side of eternity. No rush.😶
One of my all-time favourites by JB! I must’ve heard 100 guitar players cover this song but it sounds to me like Steve Morse understands the harmony better than any of them… every single note packed with so much personality, just ridiculously good.
Same here. I still have his two companion cassettes from 1983! Finally got to see him in Las Vegas in '88. I drove myself crazy trying to pick every note without hammer-on's/pull-off's as does he. I gave it up.
Все же Джеф "выжимал" из страта слёзы, гитара плакала, особенно на концертах.R.I.P. JEFF BECK!!! Но Стиву глубокий поклон, он трудяга, несмотря на артрит кистевых суставов, не сдаётся. 🤘
Steve Morse is one of the all-time greats. His work with Deep Purple is outstanding, and his complex jazzy playing with the Dixie Dregs is also another level of skill. His vibrato, speed, articulation, harmonics, and overall mastery of his instrument is second to none.
My God, what Steve Morse does with the guitar is impressive, it transported me so much that I felt like I was there feeling every note. My hands are sweaty and I have goosebumps.
What a joy to watch Steve. Every single note tells a story and he sounds so beautifully lush but still edgy, it’s a privilege to listen to him. Thanks 🙏🏻
Oh right on! All the live performances of his I've ever seen had him using his Strat. Even more amazing to know he pulled all those dynamics off on *just* a Tele for the recording!
@@biswas01 I think the original Blow by Blow was the infamous "TeleGibb". But you can find on TH-cam a Crossroads festival clip of Jeff doing CWEAL on a Telecaster.
Great tribute. Few guitarists could play “sometimes I feel like screaming” by Deep Purple and do justice to Steve’s great performances .. in the studio and live .. always different/inspiring.
I love that Steve still plays that old Ernie Ball signature guitar after all these years!!! Now that's a real relic job guitar through years of playing and wear and tear!!!! Steve is a phenomenal player!!!! Excellent!!! ❤🎉🎉😊😊😊 Steve played very tastefully and with feeling!!! I enjoyed this rendition of this Stevie Wonder piece!!!😊
Countless great guitarists have covered this classic but very few have ever got near the emotion Jeff infused into every note of his timeless original. Steve does an amazing job with his own unique take on this wonderful piece🎸🤘🏻
@@rogerbiggerstaff3293 he is suffering from severe tendinitis. Look at year ago video with Rick beato and other interviews. He can barely there. His hands seems has improved so much compared to that. The stuff at his guitar neck is to help him to make him easier to play for his condition.
One of the greatest songs written by Jeff Beck. I don't need words. I can hear the emotion and the story that the guitar tells us. Thank you Steve and band.
Steve Morse is a master. If anyone can do this song justice it is him. But Jeff Beck played like no one has ever played. And after listening to Steve's version it struck me how Beck would make his musical statements in so few notes, with so much open quiet space between. Steve's version just has too many notes for me. Jeff's version is sparse and beautiful and each note he played was perfection that just struck at the core of your heart.
Morse is one of the best ever, huge huge fan, and this is a fine cover....but it reminds me just how great the original was and nobody, not even Morse, has come close to the greatness that is Beck's version (for ex. Morse's occasional "shredding" here doesn't fit). No other I've ever heard has the same "bite" his did. RIP Jeff

Defo not a slavish copy thats for sure, but Honoring Jeffs Melodic ideas. Be nice to hear it on Beck's old Les Paul

It's rare that a "Steve" isn't a genius... Steve Morse is one of the guitar gods.

Best version I've heard to date! And he did all that vibrato w/o a tremolo bar! Legend!
Jeff used a Tele with humbuckers with no whammy on the original recording on Blow by Blow.

I simultaneously had Jeff Beck's Blow by Blow, Wired and There and Back along with Steve Morse Band in heavy rotation as a 15 yr old in 1983.
His volume swells are incredible!

Amazing. Steve plays this like a master.
Great job Steve. Beck would've loved it.
Steve Beck has it all! 🎯
Wow the expressiveness of Steve's playing is of the chart.
I think he has been using that guitar and the same strap for 30 yrs. Authentically aged! Great rendition.
It is nice to see Steve play despite all his illness 😢😢
Steve isn't ill.
@@rogerbiggerstaff3293I'm assuming he meant despite dealing with his wife's illness. Her illness is why he had to quit Deep Purple.

Fantastic tribute to Jeff, Steve. Been listening to you since the Dixie Dregs. Saw you live in England with Deep Purple. Always love your sound ❤️🔥❤️

One of the greatest songs written by Jeff Beck. I don't need words. I can hear the emotion and the story that the guitar tells us. Thank you Steve and band.
Stevie Wonder wrote it and gave it to Jeff.
Unbelievable! He did it without whammybar. Great sound with a fixed bridge. El Maestro at his best. It is different to the original, but well done!
As only Steve could do with such feeling, on that old worn and loved guitar!
With minimum effects too; like Jeff Beck. A volume pedal, and a channel changer for his amplifier.
@p6x2 he controls the volume on the guitar I think he's controlling the delay with that pedal
