- It's that time of the year again -- NAMM 2020 - and Wildwood is here to bring you a vision of the decade to come!
This is it, ladies and gentleman - the gold mine of this year's NAMM Convention. The Gristlemaster himself, Greg Koch, and down with guitar prodigy Mateus Asato for an impromtu jam at the Suhr Guitars booth! The performance was a once-in-a-lifetime jam, and we're so very excited to share it with you!

Man is Just practice, i have 16 old, i play guitar for 1 year, and i practice every day, and now i play megadeth songs and the solos, but that was dificult

No. It's just part of the chord progression Greg created and taught to mateus along the way. Actually mateus ran out of improv at that moment so he just played the chords.

@@James-gk8iphe’s a great player but it’s not even close. Greg is the best guitarist alive and amongst his peers they all say the same.
You can see how excited Mateus is to be there-he keeps looking at Greg like he can’t believe it.
I don’t think I’ve seen Greg have that much fun in a jam before or smile as much ✨

What I really love about this clip, even more than the fact that it is some of the most incredible impromptu guitar jamming I've ever heard, is how genuinely happy they both are at the end, to have spent 6 incredible minutes being so inspired by the person sitting next to them.
Greg's voicing technique is just something special!
the chops and vocabularies aside, their phrasing and how it relates to a whole solo beyond individual licks is amazingly rich and sensitive.

Saw Mr. Koch open for Vai years ago and then jam with him at the end of the show. Soooo good. Mateus is wonderful

One of the best jam sessions ever between two inventive, tasty guitarists with mutual admiration. Some great lines and licks in there.

Wow, I love Greg Koch... NO one is like him. This is the best video From NAMM hands down. And I think maybe the best on youtube right now. Imagine how good Mateus will be when he is Greg's age. Greg is a machine, and Mateus is amazing. I don't have enough thumbs ups... I would love to see Josh Smith sit in on this one too.
Greg as as i know is as good as when he was in Mateus age.

Their styles are set and they can mess around and in stuff but age got nothing to do with this experience once you get to a level when you can do the mechanical , then it's in your brain where you go

Great to see that there's just pure, genuine fun and not a shred of rivalry or trying to outdo eachother between these two wizards. Plus: listen to how different they sound! Since they're playing the same guitar (more or less), it's the ultimate proof that tone is in the fingers, and nowhere else. Thanks for this!

What i didn't expect is that greg played some of melodic minor and other outside licks. I'm glad that blues players took something from jazz vocabulary and add them to their playing, and make it more interesting for the audience. I tired listening to the same old blues scale and pentatonic box for over than 20 years. I need some refreshment

I've seen so many awesome guitarists either live or on video or even getting a lesson from a few of them. But, I just recently saw Greg Koch and he face melted every person at that gig. Lost of great guitarists, no doubt. But, Koch is truly a master musician.
My left leg is virtually shaking nervously all the time while watching this.
