    Great tool, I use it to create cycling courses. The problem I have is that sometimes it looks like the course tool thinks i'm in a car. For example, if I'm on a cycling path and want to cross the street parallel to the cycling path to get to another street, I sometimes get redirected to the next intersection to make a U-turn. I've had this behavior from the tool a couple of time. When it happens, it's impossible to write the course the way I want, I always get redirected to make a u-turn.Are they other videos on how to edit, delete, add segments?

    I do a lot of off road enduro riding. Nowhere near any road or path. This app refuses to let me create a course off road !!?? WTF waste of money this watch better to simply use my cell phone?

    This is great for simple activities. But a more in depth video might be needed for more detailed help. For example, the race i'm running in on the 14th of August we run in a short tunnel and garmin doesn't see the tunnel as a possible route. However the points don't add up correctly on Strava so I had to re-create my run in Strava using manual mode for the tunnel. Then sync it to my connect app again. Even after all that I can't save my run with any POI for some reason.

    How do you re-order course points? For example, in case you need to add an additional midpoint. Instead of putting this point all the way to the end of the route, I want to see a list of the points that I have created so that I can easily move them around. I am having difficulty finding the list of route points that I have created on the web brower. Thanks.

    Google maps doesn't have national forest trails....so freaking lame...garmin needs to figure out how to get trail maps onto connect. this is worthless for backpacking without trail maps.

    Is there a way, when using Garmin Connect website, to show my current location? When trying to create a cycling course the website defaults my location near Kansas City and I live in Kentucky.

    How do I forced the route (Custom) to follow the roads? That is important when the roads are not straight. To get around it I use multiple waypoints. It would be nice to have an easier way.

    It's a good app but has a lot of room for improvement. Some refinement would really make this a great app. The web portal is slow and crashes, you have to spend forever correcting bad routing, and some functions (like adding route points) doesn't always work. On the mobile app, every time you add a route point, it zooms out as far as it can, so you have to sit there and zoom back in. The app crashes, especially if your phone goes to sleep - I plotted a dozen route points, then it crashed and I lost all my work. You can't add the point to its physical location, you can only add the marker on the route. Example: if there's a gas station nearby, I can't add the marker to the station location, I can only put a pin on the route near it. It'd be great to tag food/fuel/service/other places to visit at their physical locations, and then have the computer give you the option to deviate to those points if you need to. If you spin the map, there's no way to reset the orientation - Google Maps has a button that resets the view to "North is up," this app desperately needs that. You can't zoom in far enough when planning to accurately pick points in congested areas (ex: Washington DC).
    The devil is in the details - this app (web and mobile) is frustrating to use. A little fine-tuning would be great.

    Thank you for the video! A quick question on Garmin Connect web/PC version. When creating a course, how can I get a more detailed map (with more info on trails, etc.), if the google map is not detailed enough? Thank you so much!

      @GarminRetailTraining  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your question. On the Course Map page, click on "Show List & Options" in the top right. You can then click on either a Satellite View or Terrain View, as well as checking the "Bike Lanes & Trails" to highlight those on the map. I hope this helps.

    How do you edit a course that has been previously saved? Thanks

    • @mxmizuno88
      @mxmizuno88 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Someone should answer this. Trying to edit a pre-existing course by moving the points around either making the route shorter or longer is cumbersome. I'm wanting to merge two routes and played around with it but still haven't figured it out.

    • @ronkline8726
      @ronkline8726 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mxmizuno88 I use the web app. To edit the course, select the course you want to edit. Double-click the course. In the lower right corner, there are 3 dots. Click the 3 dots, then select from the pull-down menu -> Delete, Duplicate, Download GPX, Download Fit, Add to Event, or edit. When you select Edit, the program will redraw your course. Then you can move or change the points as desired. If you select the pencil in the your right of the box, you can also rename the course.

    Website failure - try :
    1) Select create route.
    2)Route type (run here - possibly other types affected).
    3)Drawing method user defined.
    4) User defined drawing method "Freehand".
    5) Draw route on map
    6) Save new route
    Attention, please remember exactly where the red destination symbol is currently ! AND remember the indicated route length !
    7) Edit menu
    8) Add route point
    9) Save point
    10) Menu item "Save changes
    11) Menu item "Edit“
    12 ) Now, Connect has moved the destination. But the route length has remained the same.
    --
    13) The problem does not always occur the first time you open the file. In this case, repeat point 11 again (i.e. click on "edit" again). Possibly also 3 or 4 times this point repeat. At some point, however, it happens that the route changes on its own, without you having done anything yourself.

    absolute garbage.... you can't do this on a PC. The map does not move with the route design... I think your overpaid IT and developers need to out their coffee cups and muffins down... BTW you cannot plan a round trip either... go figure...
